Can Summoner pls always be able to use Radiant Aegis & Searing Light when pet is out

As the title says, can Smn pls always be able to use Radiant Aegis & Searing Light, when Carbuncle is out..

During rotations Bahamut & Phoenix, we can\\'t use either Radiant Aegis nor Searing Light.., and weirdly we can only use them half way thru a primal rotation (why halfway? why not just anytime, like a weaving it or another way..

It\\'s just odd and sometimes really annoying, when we want to time Radiant Aegis on incoming damage, or use it as an emergency.., we end up haveing to wait till the full Baha / Phoen rota is half thru, aka we can not use it ar all during the Bahamut / Phoenix phases.., and just as annoying to wait half a Ifrit, Titan or Garuda primal rotation..

Besides, if for some reason Searingi Light is already ready, before Bahamut can be summoned jusy by a 1-2 sec It\\'s a pain, to either sit on it, hope ruin IV is up, or worst case cast a filler ruin III (when sometimes, Baha ot Phoeni are up during movement time

Sure, it\\'s a dps lose, if we start Searing Wind too early before the big summons, still somewhat a pain being restricted, especially blocking Radiant Aegis..,

And, yes, on "perfect / optimal" runs it shouldn\\'t be a problem at all (but there are many runs in between.., not everyone parses 99% everywhere.

Hope Yoshi\\'s can somehow "fix" this (ok, it\\'s not "broken", but it really feels unnecessary clunky and almost broken)

ment ofc full Bahamut & Phoenix rotations, besides half primal rotations of aka Ifrit, Titan or Garuda..., and not half a rota from Bahamut & Phoenix near the very start

eitherway hope you could understand what I was getting at with the main post ^_^

(gawd, it's a pain writing such long texts on mobiles, need to constantly scroll up / down on this mini screen.., the mobile keyboard takes over half the screen, making the text window super small -_-...)

Radiant Aegis lasts, like, 30 seconds and Searing Light is best used before popping Bahamut or Phoenix. Both skills are only not usable while you have a summon out doing an attack, so you have a 3-4 GCD window during each elemental phase to use them, which is a lot of time.

A lot of posters are complaining that the new SMN is too easy, but then we get threads or complaints like this where posters do not show planning or forethought. I am sorry if this message comes off as mean, but that is what is going on here.

too easy or not, that part doesn't feel fleshed out and clunky.., how many other classes cant used their main defensiv CD, cause they cant till a full 15 vsec rota is over?.. the whole point is to be able to use such CDs as emergency too,.. unless were tanks, and need io be ready in advanced each time for tank busters. , but even than, imagine a tank "couldn't use my CD, cause my SS is a bit slower with this set couldn't finish my combo in time"

Smn feels easy, especially compared to the old wierd combo rota, that barely worked as intended in real fights, and even when it did, useing Bahamut during movement still felt wrong.., so did clunky pet casts back than..

..now Smn is very fuild.., yes, now it's easier than ever, but its rota makes full sense in every situation now.., aside of the Radiant Aegis (and Searing Light) usability times

Its so tiresome that not only do people like you exist but there are people who share this mindset.

We can arbitrarily make it so red mages cant use embolden or magik barrier while a dual cast proc is active. And while it doesnt make the job harder, its something that exist to be annoying with literally 0 gameplay benefit.

This entire interaction exist because SE shitty coding stop supporting this kind of stuff ffs

What's your actual counter argument to how it works now? Radiant Aegis lasts long enough for Bahamut, Phoenix, Titan, Ifrit, and Garuda.

Why would it need to work different? Even if it did work without Carbuncle we'd literally use it the same way.

There's no reason to belive this is a limitation on their coding since it very purposely is locked to Carbuncle, not just some ability like Embolden.

Since carbuncle doesn't actually do anything other than sit there 90% of the time, I don't see why carby can't just be out full time. Would reduce us hearing the carby dismiss and summon sound 7 or 8 times a minute as well.

But, more the QoL, I just want a straight potency buff before anything else.

It does not make the job harder, just clunky. It`s exactly the same issue like the old summoner. You are forced to delay your demi summon, which is a personal dps loss, to allign SL with the party buffs, which would be bigger dps loss if not. That`s imo a bad design and should be fixed years ago.

We want to use Searing Light before Bahamut as it is our main burst window, at low Spell Speed, this is not an issue since we'll get Bahamut every 2 minutes. This is an issue when we do have some Spell Speed : do we delay Bahamut by a couple of seconds and risk losing 1 use over the course of a fight or do we delay Searing Light by 15 seconds and get it completely out of sync with other raid buffs ? Searing is 30s long, right, but if we can't use it on time and use it when everybody's burst is over instead, it loses a lot of value.

But then you could just tell me "stop being dumb, don't build SpS". Which used to be true when SMN didn't benefit from SpS, but now almost all our kit scales with it. More SpS > more Bahamut and Phoenix > more primal summons. And it has also the benefit of making SMN's and BLM's gear compatible.

I'm not gonna argue with you on much here, but I will say that while on paper more SpS looks fine, having too much ends up with you drifting out of raid buff windows. Which... is no bueno. It actually is more beneficial to build with lower SpS in mind.

True ! Also the issue isn't new, it was already there with the 110s rotation back in ShB where we could either delay our trances to get Devotion in time, or rush them to get one more use.
