SE Failed.

Square fell flat on their faces with Endwalker.. I've been playing since before ARR when the game failed, never canceled my sub and have been paying every month since then.
WHY? because I love SE too, and I want them to succeed. (Long time FFXI player as
well) But i will not blindly follow them, attacking anyone with criticism.

With that said. I'm disappointed in this expansion.
I know once you get into the game, it's "fine" , but hiding behind Que times does not make a successful launch. 4-6hour que times every time you try to log in is bonkers.

Pour a little money into server capacity. I know you don't want too, because you think the game will cool off soon and that would be money wasted, but quit feeding us with lies. People are defending you saying "it's not about server capacity and it's not that easy" that's a bunch of BULL S and anyone that has ever worked in this industry knows it.

Do the right thing SE, or just stop lying about it.

If you was logging in at the time you posted this, you wouldn't be facing all too terrible a queue. Less QQ, more pew-pew.

I'm on Bryn. I had a total of 28 people to fight when logging in today at 4pm when all should have been off work. It's dying down for most servers.

1. There's a semiconductor shortage currently. Semiconductors take weeks to make and it's not just Square Enix that wants servers.

2. There was an unprecedented number of people that migrated to FFXIV.

You can't just ''pour a little money'' to fix the problem. You can try to queue 1-2 hours before you get home with remote access.

Your, 'Join Date,' says December 2021 so... I'm not inclined to believe you've been playing since before ARR. I might be wrong, maybe that join date is for when you started posting on the forums, but mine is April 2015, which is when I joined the game itself. I don't think I started using the forums until a few months afterwards.

Anyways, passing that over, if you're so unhappy with the queue times, perhaps you should consider cancelling your subscription and finding another game to enjoy? FFXIV will be here when/if you wish to return.

The queue times will be like this for awhile. Either figure out a better time to get on where there are fewer people and a shorter wait time or play something else until the queue times all together go back to normal.

Mine says when ever but I started in ARR forget the exact patch but I remember WoD and Final Coil coming out.

I'm not here for your satisfaction, or to stroke any of the keyboard warrior space bars. I just hope SE sees my message and gets on the ball. not being able to play the game till the weee hours of the night is a bit annoying with a full time job. Interesting. I'm less sure about what the Join Date even means anymore now. I definitely started about two months before Heavensward launched, I remember that clearly, but I don't remember posting on the forums until after it launched... bah, my memory is probably at fault here.

I have 2430 Total days subbed. Never had a reason to get on the forums until now. and i'm going to keep giving them my money in hopes things get better and I can play my favorite game again.

Any bit of logical reason, and information is going to be drowned out by the people who throw out words like, "Fanboi", "Keyboard Warrior", "Sheep", and "White Knight". Everytime that someone has contradicting idea or thought, or heck gives credible information about why this is happening, and why it's not an easy problem you can just throw money at to make it go away...

THey aren't saying 'don't post about it' they're saying 'post in the pre existing thread if there is one instead of making yet another new thread for the SAME SUBJECT.' It's about not clutting the forum with redundant threads, not about keeping people from posting their criticisms or complaints.

Well, that is certainly your right, but I'm not sure it'll have the effect you want it to either way. The superconductor shortage is a real thing. They literally cannot get the equipment to expand the servers, add more of them, etc... and even once they do get the equipment, it'll take time to install, test, etc...

The problem with the queue isn't going to be resolved overnight. It might take a few months. All we can do is be patient.

I cannot help but agree. The fanboy attitude doesn't really cut it. It really just sounds ridiculous and silly hearing the defense.

I have a lot of respect for the company. I just recently started but do like the game. I can appreciate the history of the game and the community etc. However continuing to sell copies of the game when you cannot meet the demands is bad business.

A disclaimer should be placed on Steam and the primary store stating that purchasing the game and/or paying a monthly fee does not guarantee that you will have access to the product.

Anyone who plays online games understands patches and maintenance. This is a different category. I can understand the situation and even empathize a bit. However, coming into this after the game has been established this long and walking into 5k queue's, with hours upon hours in queue...getting kicked from the launcher 1/2 the time after hours of waiting. That needs to be addressed to the consumer before they put out the money.

Right at this point I really do feel like this game is checking the boxes for me, however I do feel a ton of regret for buying it. If I had access it would be one thing, but at this point it feels like money wasted. Really hope a solution can even be found. 5k queues with 3+ hour wait times is not a manageable model for a hefty box price and monthly sub.

All I see is whaaaawhhaaaa whaaa.

Im sitting in a queue, as I am sure everyone else is. (or trying to since the lobby continues to "pew-pew' the sheets as well).

Whether I type on here while in the queue or not it appears to have no impact on the queue speed.

To be clear, the defense being that the superconductor shortage makes it impossible for SE to resolve the issue anytime soon? Because I don't see that as silly. To me what is silly is people demanding instant gratification, like a customer at a restaurant demanding a salmon dinner, the restaurant literally having no salmon, and them demanding the restaurant go get more. Then when the chef explains there is a Salmon shortage because of an environmental disaster like an oil spill, that the restaurant literally cannot get any Salmon no matter how much they would be willing to pay for it, the customer continues to demand more Salmon, convinced, somehow, that the chef has it in their power to get more when there isn't any.

Not the best analogy, I know.

I for one would love to open the forums one day and see something that doesnt consist of peoples life story over the game or personal life essay or declare the game has failed.

Then why did the restaurant sell salmon and why is he still advertising salmon? Why is he still charging the customers for queuing up for salmon? And how are other restaurants getting salmon? How come they have had a problem with salmon providers for ages but no one else has?

I would love to enter the game without queues. You can avoid the threads you don't like and still use the forums, I can't avoid the queues and log into the game.

The restaurant had always had Salmon on the menu. The problem was having a whole lot more people suddenly coming to the restaurant for salmon.

After that, yeah, the analogy falls apart. That said, SE isn't charging us right now. We've been given 7 free days, and will likely be receiving more. I don't know of any other companies getting new servers, do you?

I'm not an expert on this topic, but everything that is available paints a clear picture. "How are other restaurants getting salmon?" Well they aren't as far as I know. That's kind of why this on-going shortage has been known of since September of last year, no?

(Edit): Also, I feel like an idiot. I just did a google search for a news piece on the shortage. It's semiconductors, not superconductors.

they shouldn't still be advertising a game that people cannot play. there should be a warning on steam or on the launcher. and the fact that they do not have a plan other than hoping that people that bought their product are so dissatisfied that they stop playing is behavior that I wouldn't even expect from EA.

The fun thing is I know someone who bought the game, logged in and could not create a character because not a single server was accepting new characters.

It does say that. In the EULA. The one you agreed to when you purchased the game. Steam even says on the purchase page that there is an external EULA.
