Are we getting any new content in 1.22a other than Garuda fix?
By the schedule, it should be AF weapons quests and more Hamlet Defends camp.
However, I wonder if the schedule is changed due to Garuda blm burn method to be fixed?

Why do you feel that fixing the Garuda issue would result in all other planned content being dropped?
Because they may think of Garuda issue as an emergency, so fix this first, and then go for other content after. The reason why it fix so slow may caused by golden week.
maybe AF weapons? I don't know
1.22a shoul be af weapons, hamlet and/or castrum novos. Patch have garuda fix, it's not been delayed
Noo if it was emergency it would have been done right away regardless of the week, and it was such a strict off work week it would have been done Monday night, they know the fix, its a simple HP Check.
The 10th of May for 1.22a was always in planned, even before Garuda. They wouldnt replace that by something so tiny.
I really really hope AF weapons make it in... I'm just dieing for a bow harp!
That is cool then, because I wanna compare AF weapon status to Garuda weapon badly.
I don't know which Garuda weapon should I exchange due to the fact that some AF weapon might do better job.
I really hope it includes the rest of the class exclusive crafts. I want that Astrolabe and Vanya gear more than the AF weapons :x
If all we get is the other hamlets I will be severely dissappointed... I'm liking patch 1.22 so far but let's be honest it doesn't have half the content we'd been originally promised for it (including the imperial stronghold and AF weapons which are arguably the biggest additions content-wise).
This is what we are getting:
All taken from the Letter from the Producer, XXVI
- Job-exclusive Weapons: Implementation of content for acquiring and upgrading job-exclusive weapons.
- Imperial stronghold: Construction of an imperial stronghold related to Meteor
- New imperial weaponry: Implementation of new imperial weaponry
- Job balance adjustments: Ongoing adjustments to job balance (This time: WAR, PLD and DRG for sure)
- Battle log revisions: Partial revisions to battle log spec
Yeah...more weapons, there goes another 7 slots from my inventory.
lololol 1.22 the WEAPONS PATCH
Imperial
Company
Garuda
Artifact
=O
RIP 28 inventory slots.
I'm really hoping AF weapons will be worth using. DRG spear is one of the most awesome weapons I have seen in the Final Fantasy series. I do wonder what you will have to do to "upgrade" them.
I keep all on me, maybe cause in XI I had a lot of elemental staffs on my blm. That and if I help with Ifrit I'll use Garuda for standing in town I'll use Moogle cause it goes with my Darklight. Then use Ifrit cause...... you don't so 300 runs for a weapon to throw in storage lol.
Let's just hope that the AF weapon isn't in a box by Ul'dah :-P
im hoping we get the higher ranks of hamlet in addition to the other 2 hamlets personaly
looks like its tomorrow ja? here
Why are we getting AF weapons? Ifrit, moogle, garuda, class. Why so many weapon sets. I am not complaining, I hope the quests to get the weapons are good like the armor sets where.
I thought the imperial weps was for the npc's cuz they used normal weapons like us and not imperial gear.
Hi Irishwars,
It's a good question. With the way SE has balanced / introduced Ifrit, Moogle and Garuda Weapons, and also Grand Company Class Weapons... I wonder what unique characteristic they'll have for Artifact / AF Weapons?
Will it be a purely horizontal-style upgrade (just another stat (Ifrit was Attack, Moogle was Accuracy, etc.)? Or will they be upgradeable?
And how will they balance that against Materia-Crafted Weapons (e.g., BLM Wands with Materia) etc.? We'll find out soon. :)
Imperial Stronghold and 2 more hamlets I think.
Maybe because these will suffice for the less "hardcore" players that don't want to grind Primals multiple times for their weapons? They should also serve as good entry-level weapons before starting primals. People seem to forget sometimes that content is developed for new players too.
Also, I thought I remembered reading that AF weapons aren't coming till 1.22b. I guess we'll see. We should get the other two Hamlets and I think the Imperial Stronghold in this coming patch though.
I thought AF weapons were going to be super hard core and hard to obtain.
It won't be, gotta please casual people. Also we're getting AF weapons because the AF set is basically straight from FFXI in concept, you get a weapon and armor. So what if we have primal weapons? Don't you think it's about time there's other good weapons? Especially considering the poor people who leveled their favorite job and can't do the fights because idiots think you can only win by throwing THM/BLM/ARC/BRD at shit? They need an alternative lol.
You thought wrong, 'hardcore content' is outdated, based on what people say in this forum.
I remember a post from the devs saying they wouldn't be easy to get and they are balancing the difficulty.
Given how SE has been doing things it probably be like get 50 drops from AV or CC final bosses and you only get 1 per run goes to random person, but you can give it to someone if you wish.
I think the AF will be easy to get but hard to upgrade, something like easy mode Relics.
If they were smart they'd do it the Empyrean WoE path way. Though there are still some NMs out there that doesn't serve a true purpose, so given the past history with releasing NMs to coincide with AF/Skills, good chance we have a lot of NM slaying in our future.
Though I still don't get why Audhumbla was in a tiny ass cave...I mean I get it name wise but...that thing is too damn big for a tiny cave :|
I was hoping SE would make a system where weapon and AF are upgraded similar to Limbus and at the same time, have a tier like system that other MMO's use. So each upgrade can be like Drachen Mail (+1, 2, 3, and so on.). But we will see tomorrow what is going on with AF weapons.
If it has 3 upgrade parts I wouldn't put it past them to do this. Stage 1 get 50 Inferno Totems, Stage 2 get 50 Kupo Nuts, Stage 3 get 75 headdresses.
I think they are adding way too many pieces too fast; many are obsolete even before they realistically obtainable. Gimme some time to work on this stuff already!
