DirectX 11 dx11 Error

Since Endwalker came out I tried playing the game with directx 11 as I have since I bought the game. The error gives me a date from last month too, which is strange since I haven't seen that from other threads about this type of issue

I've tried reinstalling the game twice, updating drivers and Windows and yet I still get the same error. People have mentioned a headset input, but I don't have the affected one. I have to play on DX9, which has led to crashes when I try to teleport places and puts me back in the queue. I haven't seen anything from Square Enix to address it, does anyone know what might be wrong?

I'm glad you posted about this, too. my DX11 client was perfect for literally 8 years of playing this game and this patch has changed something. I reinstalled and did all the other steps you did, too. I have to play on DX9 and randomly get fatal errors and crashes.

I get fatal crashes with Direct X 11 and have been since before the patch so idk. I have to play in full screen and it only does it in that so I am forced to play with Direct X 9 right now or I get fatal error after awhile of playing.

Absolutely no idea how this patch has ruined itself. Was fine up until then, now I can't play the game. Is there a fix?

I fixed this issue by updating my Windows! Went from 18363 to 19042 and now no more directx 11 errors. Hope this helps someone!

Hi Raggy, what version of Windows did you upgrade to? I am going to try as I have the same issue and updates to download

I upgraded to the 19042 OS build for windows 10

Getting the same issue. No problems prior to the 6.0 patch, now I randomly get ejected to my desktop with these same errors. I'm glad it's not just me, but considering the landscape of how the launch is going who knows if they'll even give this issue the time of day. I really hope something gets fixed with this.

Just updated my OS to as current as it can go in an attempt to be rid of this friggen mess. I appreciate the tip. If you don't mind my asking, have you had a lot of time to confirm if it truly resolved the issue? I only ask because at least in my instance and a few other posts I've read... the issue is entirely random.

I haven't had any DX11 errors for months but yesterday when I closed the game I got the same errors in OP.
I don't know whether it's directly related to me closing down the game or not but it happened.
Running a 2070 Super on Win10 latest build

Make sure to turn off overlays, xbox app, game bar and discord overlays. It can cause dx11 crashes. We were also told by support to move the game to the main hard drive. Doing those steps fixed the issue. Which one I am not completely sure but I think it was the Xbox app frankly.

This is exactly what happened to me on 3rd when EW was released in early access... When I closed the game after couple of hours of playing I also got DX11 error the moment I exited the game. It was fine whole weekend without any errors for more than 20 hours of playtime but yesterday I got the same error while waiting for Duty and my game crashed and I was back in several hours long queue :D Not sure what is making these errors but I have never had any crash in over 1k hours of FF14 but got 2 of these since EW.

Latest build of Win10 21H2, RTX 3080 and nvidia 496.49 drivers.

Same behavior when closing the game. After exiiting the game, I hade the same DX11 errors
It was the first time I had this since I play the game ><.
Last Windows 10 build (21H2), RTX 2060 SUPER and 496.76 Nvidia drivers.
Will see if it is systematic or not...

I get the same error when I fly on of the bird mounts so I stop using that mount.
