Error 2002 is unacceptable

Sorry for my English in advance, I'm angry and it's not my first language.
Queue times are NOT the issue, waiting 6 hours to log in are NOT the issue. The issue is having a all of those AND getting disconnected only to return to the start of the line. Where is a "smart queue" system, if I was number 1203910451294 on a line when I disconnected I SHOULD be number 1203910451294 when I get back to the queue, right?
Imagine being in a line in a restaurant and every time the line moved you had a change of randomly being thrown to the end of the line, I doubt full heartily that you would be "It's fine, it's expected to have issues right?".
People that defend this forget that this is a product, SE should fix this as soon as possible and at a MINIMUM give either refunds on people's game time or compensate on some other manner.

At least other servers have a queue (I assume). Leviathan's died and now we can't get in queue at all. We get 3001 world is full errors.

Agreed. Long queues aren't an issue. Long queues with a fake out disconnect boot to the back of the line is a huge issue though.

Credit where credit is due, there are FAR less DC's than yesterday. It was nearly every minute or so during peak time on the 3rd.

I had the same issue. Was waiting for 2 hours and with only 37 left in que. I thought i was just about to finally log in when i got the error 4004 and had to start all over again

Fun fact. Periodically you can get the loading screen of the world and get a 2002 error that closes your game. It isn't even just 3001 :(

Got this as well just now. 1 and then kicked out - which means back of the line. As long as you can get in, make sure you never log out, pretty much. I had been logged in all night and morning pending several disconnects (due to my own internet), and the only time you can reliably get on is in the early morning hours. I had to go afk for longer than expected and got logged out, and haven't been able to get back in for about two hours now. Unfortunate.

Only thing I find irritating is that it closes out the game completely and you have to restart the launcher and log in all over again. Really annoying when you use MFA. But... dems the breaks.

Since 6 am (it's now near 4 pm) I will get down to 11 or 20 in the queue this last one was 1... ONE... ONE BLOODY PERSON. (Yes I'm angry) and every single swiving time it's a 4004 error that puts me back up to over 5k in the queue. This is incredibly unacceptable. I would have rather waited another month for the expansion for them to work out server issues. JP server primetime is 17 queue max I've gotten. How about pulling some of the server towers from the JP side and give them to NA.

I'm baffled that there are some people defending this, FF got a lot of attention for the past 3 months and somehow it was a surprise to SE that the servers would be full and they would have problems with it? How on EARTH no one on there thought "we should make a smart login system to prevent people getting booted to the end of the line if they dc in line", it's either incompetency or neglect. It's nothing to do with being entitled, actually, it is, I'm paying for this service and I should have it, specially when they have a huge team like they do, it's flat out unacceptable that literally none in their team had a work around about this, it's nothing to do with chips and shortage, it's not thinking ahead and having systems in place to alleviate the issues that could occur.

guys just unsub like me and come back when server is more stable. I feel a lot better after battling with lobby error and queue for last 2 days. I mean seriously, even Trident handled better on queue on Archeage handled better than this. While there were large queue, they didn't have neither lobby error or stupid queue system forget your queue number. For those who got disconnected bypass queue as well. So disappointed

Speaking of things loooooong overdue, it would be nice if on PC when you do get kicked out of the game (for whatever reason) you go back to a launcher that is still logged in.

Yeah I mean I kinda expected logging in to be tough, and have zero issues with long queues, and wasn't even gonna complain (even though it took me three hours to get in last night) but

Game hard crashed earlier, just spent an hour and a half in queue, went from 4300 down to under 2k in the queue... in that time I had three 2002 crashes and managed to make it back in time to keep my spot in line, but just now I got six 2002 errors in a row and now I'm up over 5500 in line again. I'm fine waiting til things chill out to like, really try to dig deep into anything, and I'm chill with getting less time in game because of a line, but when I'm getting randomly kicked out of line and also kicked all the way to the END of the line, even while actively babysitting the game? I'm a bit less chill with that.

Server issues aren't even a surprise, but if it's gonna be this bad, then the grace period on keeping your spot in line should be longer.

They knew about the problem and couldn't get more servers up and running due to the semiconductor shortage. They definitely shouldn't have people getting 2002ed though since the best option is to log into the queue and go out to eat or something, then come back.

Pretty much. If you want to play, you have to sleep during the day and/or make sure you log in during the night. I really should just be heading to bed instead of trying to get on, otherwise I'll be awake during the day, and that may mean I won't be able to play! Pretty frustrating for me, as I was at a lengthy story section, and had went afk just before due to something going on in RL. I don't expect to even get in for another hour and a half or two hours at the earliest, and I don't doubt I'll be kicked out due to this error, and thrown to the back of the line.

The same exact thing just happened to me. Got down to 1 and errored out. That one pissed me off. Waited so long just to get there. Now I'm at 3k. F that.

Leviathan's queue is back up, but because of the earlier incident where I went from 5000 to 1 (queue died) everyone got mass logged in if you were lucky (otherwise 3001 error and kicked to title screen). The queue does not advance at all now no matter what. I've been 439 for 15 minutes now and even got 2002'ed once.

Stormblood did periodic server restarts, surprised endwalker isnt.

I agree, the 2002 error is the most frustrating thing. I don't mind waiting, I don't like waiting the 2 hours, plan my evening around the likely 3 hour que time to get, only to get the 2002 error when under 1,000 to go only to be sent back to the 3,000+ que. It happened Friday night and now tonight (Saturday).

This is the most frustrating cause its like a carrot on a stick.. that seems just in grasp with patience, but than whipped back out of reach. :mad:

I feel like I was just trolled. I got to the 1 spot in the queue and 2002'ed out. It took close to 10 minutes before the data center would let me log back in and I'm now at 4218...

Yep, my biggest mistake was logging out to change characters. So, make sure you pick a character you will invest in for a very long time.

Agree with the sentiment here. I'm currently in queue a good 2 hours before I'll even be able to play just to make sure I have a chance tonight, and I have to run upstairs to my office every few mins between tasks to make sure I stay in line. I've fought off 3 2002's now and thankfully haven't lost my spot yet, but damn is it frustrating to have to babysit the game for literally hours to log in.

And just this morning I was thinking how smooth and lag/bug/error free my experience was yesterday...guess I jinxed it lol

I just log on and do other things while I wait...dishes...cleaning...go outside.. play video games. Not saying your comments are not justified, but don't waste your time looking at a screen folks.

You kind of have to babysit the screen, if you wait too long after getting the dreaded 2002 error & don't log back in fast enough, you're back to end of the line. 2 hours ago, I was at 8250 in queue, I am now 3,044 and have been kicked back to desktop many times. If I wasn't paying attention, I'd be back to 8250. I don't mind the queue time, it is what it is, I've played many MMO xpac releases, it's the getting kicked and having to start all over. Let me go watch TV for a few hours while I wait to be logged in, I am OK with that.

I logged on at 8am Pacific time this morning and the queue was 71.
Waited about 2 minutes to get on.

Key takeaway; no one is awake even at 11am Eastern so being awake during daylight hours is a huge advantage.

So on average during day time when I try to wait for queues, I encountered error 2002 EVERY 30 MINUTES. This means not only I have to constantly check if I have a chance to successfully logged into the game, I can't really do any other important time consuming activities because there is high chance of completely getting kicked out of the line if I don't monitor the progress. Also, on average I need about 10 minutes for the error 2002 to clear so that I can successfully log back into the queue screen. It just went from 4k to 5k to 6k, etc if the error keeps coming back.

Can I ask how is this a fair system? This is entirely luck dependent. Where is the grace period for players that loyally waited and waited. I can endure the wait if I can expect an end result that is for me to be able to play the game, but the wait doesn't really guarantee my chance at all. I get the congestion is an unavoidable issue at current state, but what is this exactly?

I am 110% aware of obstacles I have to go through, but why am I being punished for being a good boy and wait in line only to be brutally kicked out of my place?

For F's sake, can the game client not straight up close in my face and force me to go through the entire login process? Even getting disconnect from the game would just put me back into the title screen.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SQUARE ENIX

3 hours in queue, and I just got dc and back of the line because it would not let me go through because of lobby error. This is such trash.

I'm totally with you. I will wait my turn I have no problem with that. Disconnecting and starting over does make me a little sad.

I'm on Leviathan and I have been trying to get on for about 8 hours now. I can't even count how many times I've been kicked with 2002 error. Got 3001 errors for an hour or two. I get within minutes of getting on and then I'm kicked so I can start all over in the queue. My last login I was at 6950 in the queue and now I'm at 5000. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to play today. If I can't get on tomorrow then I doubt I'll be able to play until next weekend and that sucks. I need to finish Shadowbringers before I can even enjoy End Walker content.

Yeah, honestly, I won't ever do an early access after this. I've spent my whole day in que and only to get logged in to the world and 30 minutes later get disconnected and returned to que.

I thought I'd actually get to play like last time I did early access for Stormblood (I'd take Rauhban over this), but now I'm seeing that won't be the case during the early access period.

Squenix keeps saying it's not their fault, but hardware providers, and that's true in a partial sense. I'm a dev for another company and I can safely say that that's more of an excuse rather than what's actually the problem. If I had to throw a dart, Squenix's management probably didn't think the login software and infrastructure was actually important enough to spend money and man hours on and here we are now.

They have our money though, so they'll just run with it, oh well.

13 hours now, time and time and time again getting down to double or single digits to be booted out with a 2002 or 4004 error then to log back in to get back to back to back 2002 errors to have to start over to a 6k+ Queue. This is absolutely not acceptable SE. You KNEW this launch would be the biggest, you KNEW you could very much have shuffled around physical towers to places you knew would need them most from JP and maybe a few EU servers, ones you already own... to NA... where your LARGEST playerbase is. If you couldn't do that DELAY the launch until you COULD.

Just sat in the queue for 2 and a half hrs, got to number 1 in the queue, got error 2002, then I wasn't able to get back in quick enough due to more error 2002s and was sent to the back of the queue. I don't mind waiting hrs to play, I understand there are a lot of people trying to get on, but I don't understand why they seemingly did nothing to fix this. Why am I punished for the lobby server erroring? Why does it not save my spot in the queue for longer, or at least give me a jump to the front of the line/close to where you originally were when you DC? Having it lose your place in the queue so quickly is unacceptable, this isn't anything that any of us can control.

To add to this, middle of the night to morning is your best times. I have odd work hours so I’m usually playing this game at night or later. Day one I got in right when servers came back from maintenance with a small que. second time I logged , small-ish que, was morning. I know some might have to work or got things to do but if you have a free day coming up, try sleeping at different times to catch a chance to login. I tried logging in just now…and yeah nothing but bullshit lol. I’ll go back to my usual patterns xD.
