2.45 second recast timer on Dancer HURTS

Was wondering why everything felt so slow since launch, like being in molasse's and just noticed the timer change.

Knew they said stats were being nerfed, but I didn't think they were being nerfed out of existence entirely.

Zero gear and a weapon with almost no stats: 2.50
Full Augmented cryptlurker gear and materia: 2.45

Feels like SE went a bit too overboard...

Dancer should just have had a 1.5 gcd seeing how it's rotation is so simple.

You realize Cryptlurker has almost no SkS right?
88 on the boots, 69 on the Earring.
No other Cryptlurker pieces have Skill Speed

My jank, thrown together DNC set at i480 has the GCD at 2.38 with a SkS of 840 by comparison.
If you wanna go fast ... Invest in some Skill Speed maybe?

Yeah I plan to toss on some skill speed the next time im in a town (Out in the field questing atm)

All i know is, pre Endwalker, I had around a 1.5-1.8 cast time, things raced very well, I forget how much exactly.
The change is... jarring.

That's typical on expansion. Your previous stats were for near-endgame, you are no longer near endgame. Rebalancing for new level cap and stats available means what you had isn't going to feel as powerful.

This is true and can even be tested.

Get yourself a lv 50 set with some skillspeed, queue for a lv 50 dungeon, your Global will be pretty fast.
Now unsync it and your Global will be almost 2.5 sec.

There is a constant squish after every expansion, im not sure how the system calculates it though.

Skill Speed is bad on DNC anyway. A 2.5 gcd divides perfectly into 12 GCD's during Standard Steps 30 second cooldown. When you add SkS Standard either starts to drift, or you have to clip, to use it on cooldown.

The ideal stats for DNC are as close to 0 SkS as possible.

This is the correct answer.

Running SKS on dancer isn't recommended. In fact all the ranged dps want 0 sks as it messes up the rotation alignment when it is lower than 2.5s gcd. You may want to do research before making topics like this.

More like a depressingly boring answer.

Quite like the rotation of dnc, but the gcd is way too low for it which results in the steps being the only engaging part of their rotation.

While you're not wrong, not everyone is beholden to play "the meta" and it's rude to suggest there is only one right way to play a job.
