Can we have that animation from the Bed Mount specifically? I know Play Dead is a bit of a alternative, but a sleep emote would be nice to have. :)

I believe someone said there was at one time a sleep anywhere emote, but it began being used for less than wholesome purposes in town, so doze only works around a bed now. Something like that.
what sauteed said
though if reddit is to be believed, it is still possible via glitch.
More different sleeping poses on the bed then maybe?
Sounds weird to me if it's true because the /playdead emote can be used for similar purposes if someone really wants a laying on the ground emote.
Yet the push up emote exist. Shameful display.
Blame the culture of liability for that. It would be nice and all if each instance of violation is treated locally specifically to the offender. But what will more than likely happen is some kind of lawsuit claiming the developers are liable for not policing their game well and must take responsibility for all wrong doing on their platform ... and you bet tons of people gonna be on the band wagon because it makes them feel good.
Can't blame the dev for playing it safe.
play dead
You gotta pay for it now
Hmm... I don't recall there ever being a /sleep emote which could be used everywhere. We've just had the /doze emote which is limited to beds.
Whether or not FFXIV doesn't have a /sleep emote because of ERPers is irrelevant to me. By itself, a /sleep emote isn't a particularly interesting emote. I'd rather see emotes which would be more fun, such as /bubblegum.
I think it's entirely subjective as to whether a sleep emote is interesting or not. Personally I'd rather have more emotes that contribute to immersion and role-play than those that further push the game into feeling more like modern day elements are inserted into it purely for the sake of having them there.
For example, a sleep emote could easily be useful to have a character fall asleep next to a campfire out in the bitterly cold wilds of Coerthas or Garlemald.
I see no reason, however, why both a sleep emote and a bubblegum emote couldn't be added.
It just is a bit funny to me if this emote indeed was taken away due to the likes of erpers or some such, yet ive seen people poke fun at WoW for it recently taking away or changing some emotes as well. I also vaguely recall yoshi p mentioning somewhat recently people had asked for the slow clap emote Valens uses in the weapons questline however the devs decided not to implement it as it could be used in a harsh way...
The limiting of /doze to beds might just be a matter of having both the "dozing off while standing/sitting" and "sleeping" emotes and thinking the player would only want to use the latter on a bed, like we only use the chair version of /sit when in range of a seat.
That said, I don't think it works on a lot of beds in the overworld but they seem to have gotten better about it in Shadowbringers. You can definitely use it on the beds at the Ostall barracks and the hammocks in Fanow. Maybe other places too.
I'd appreciate being separated out and able to use anywhere though. They separated /groundsit out as a command so it's possible they'd do the same for the sleeping poses.
I can't remember the specific scene you're referencing, but Valens uses an Elezen model and they do a slow clap just as their regular /clap emote. So it may not be a new emote for them to implement.
Still waiting for the /sniff that one Miqo in mor dhona does.
But as was mentioned before, we can't have nice free things, I guess!
/shrug
There's hack for it. Since it exists in game.
The /doze to beds and /sit to furniture is the same, it's just when it's near a bed or chair code gets added, like extra positionals.
Thus people have found a way to edit the memory to put the emote on your bar with the positionals added.
