Anyone think there could be a possibility some of the content for EW could be released early because of the delay of the full Endwalker launch? Something like how WoW released Demon Hunters prior to Legion launch. Male Viera released early could be a possibility, Sage and Reaper not so much because releasing them early would also require the other jobs rework, but you never know.
I’ll just say that I completely agree with their decision to delay the game to make sure we have server stability. No one knows better about the current development of Endwalker then Yoshi P and the team. This does not change how disheartening it is that this effects many people’s time they put aside for November. I for one won’t even be able to enjoy Endwalker until at least the second week because the new release dates fall on a work week for me and I’ll pretty much have to stay off of Facebook and my FC discord because all I’ll see is how great Endwalker is.

They can't split the release. It's built into the code for the expansion. Not happening.
They would have to have designed it to be released in a separate patch to begin with. It's also why all saints wake isn't out already, it was also baked into the Endwalker patch -

They're things that have a trigger for when you've done X quest in Y location. So no. Plus after Rogue/Ninja they said they'd never release another class outside of an expansion release.

So the reason for the delay is so they can properly do QA.
This means all the endwalker content is finished. Dungeons, raids, the story... and yes the jobs. They're just doing that quality assurance thing to try to make sure we have a smooth launch.
If SE decided they wanted to do a new content patch - no matter what was included - they'd have to basically do all this again. It's not just a matter of dumping in a slice of the content - they'd have to do all the setup around setting up a new patch, add then content, and then do QA on it.
And then further a complication is that the stat squish is changing potencies for jobs' old abilities, and Sage and Reaper are no doubt designed around the new stat formulas...
So, I think it's exceptionally unlikely SE could realistically do a content patch between now and Endwalker launch.
But look at it this way, we'll have all the time over the holidays to play, without also being pressured to raid during the holidays. We'll just have to look forward to having our fun in December. See y'all then ~ -

FF14 server tech is very antiquated, they bring down the servers,patch it up, and away we go.
To have a jobs and race patch they'd have to make new patches and that itself would need to go through QA.

Game needs a 24-hour maintenance for a major patch as well. Lots to inject into the production game, new features, and new bugs.
Like their test game world is likely 6.0 gamma, and that's basically testing what the production world would look like on 12/3. They obviously don't have the capacity for another test world nor the time to test carve outs with the release window left. -

FFXIV might have been inspired by WoW in alot of way, but they dont just do what WoW does. EW is delayed, so are the Jobs and Male Viera. It all comes out at once. -

As awesome as that would be, it doesn't make sense to do that from a variety of standpoints.
I wanna play through 6.0 as one of the new jobs, and I know a lot of other people wanna do the same. Releasing Sage/Reaper early would certainly give us time to level them, but it'd probably hurt not only the game, but SE's integrity, over all. -
