Zenos would stand no chance. Even the WoL is afraid of Hildibrands mom.
What would happen?
Zenos would CEASE TO EXIST after the encounter!
There world be Garlean for dinner.
Well, I think that when two awful characters do battle then the best resolution is for them to eliminate each other.
Half-joking aside, was it ever confirmed if the Hildy stories are canon? I've always assumed they were just for fun or were exaggerated accounts of events that actually happened.
As fun as it would be to see her defeat Zenos, my honest answer is that Zenos would destroy her. Comic shenanigans are no match for anime edge.
Never underestimate how OP zany BS is.
Arale handed Vegeta his butt.

When you visit the Gold Saucer with Nanamo in 4.1, Godbert will have different dialogue depending on whether or not you've done any of the Hildebrand quests. So while they're not tied into the MSQ, they did happen in canon. Assuming you've done them, of course.
I think the only things in the game that aren't technically canon are Savage and Ultimate fights, Minstrel's Ballad trials, and some extremes like the Warring Triad, as they're all handwaves to include hard modes of things that, for one reason or another, can't actually be re-fought (ie, you can't fight Thordan twice because he's dead).
Even Zenos knows there are some forces in this world you do not interfere with.
Would Julyan somehow make Zenos interesting?
Or would Zenos somehow make the Mandervilles boring?
... both outcomes seem completely impossible.
I would gladly pay to watch Zenos bashed through a wall with a frying pan.
Depends on whether the plot is going for Comedy or Drama.
Assuming he survives (God I hope not), I can see Zenos getting roped into some Mandervillian shenanigans as a form of Bathos and get frying panned (take an entirely too serious character and put them in a funny situation, like the Comic of Batman fighting crime while he's looking out for a Baby.) Or they could drop The non Hildebrand Mandervilles into the main plot, I expect her to get smoked to show the direness of the situation (Whenever Godbert shows up in the MSQ, he's a lot more serious, no underwear or Santa schenanigans).
Aw don’t kid yourself. She’s a sweet lady who’d probably wind up cooking the man dinner. He’d be on our side by sundown.
She definitely isn’t forcing me to say that.
She would smash him into paste with that frying pan of hers.
Probably some kind of pseudo-canon that you're not supposed to think about too much.
The overarching idea, that you go on investigations with Hildy, probably accurate.
The background details like the stuff with Sil'dih's past and the zombies, probably accurate.
The specific character moments like Godbert throwing his son into low earth orbit, probably not so accurate.
This reminds me actually, I was going through the Hildibrand storyline on my alt and Zenos and Gilgamesh have a great many things in common, don't they? Bigthiccfreaks dressed in red, obsessed with weapons and combat (particularly against the WoL)... really the only difference is one of them actually undergoes character developmentand it sure as hell ain't Zenos
Hey now, Unukulhai actually gives the WoL the Allagan Tomestones with the Warring Triad Full Power Simulations on them. They're X-men style danger room scenarios. The others are magical variants of that... I prefer the tomestone variety.
To answer OP... Maybe for once in his life this would cure Zenos's ennui, and Julyan would have a competent servant afterwards. One she doesn't have to be nice to, who doesn't want her to be nice to him. Hmmm. If it weren't for Godbert, they could be a new power couple :O!
I feel like that still fits into the handwave category, since it's not something that's ever come up again. But it's kind of a moot point. Either way, it only exists so we can have Extreme versions of the Triad, because all of their followers are long dead and can't resummon them.
Of course, then we run into the question of how the blue mage trainer learned Sophia's spell.....
Don't handwave my WoL being one of the 1.7% Allagan Elites able to survive the training and being approved for cloning for the elite regiments Q_Q~!
How did he and/or Azulmagia learn the other primal spells? They got the Echo? :O?! Maybe they're holding out some ridiculously awesome Whalaqee Totems that the Whalaqee somehow had...
"You see, the Whalaqee's land has primals too. They've for Bifrit, Bitan, Bamuh, Bethiavan, Baruda, Bad King Boggle Bog, Bavana, Bod King Bhordan, Bophia, Burvan, Bephirot, and Misbarck."

If it gets him to go bug someone else for a while and leave me alone, I'll accept it.
Think she's a couple decades too old for him... not that you heard that from me
This is like asking the question, who would win in a fight, Ran'jit or Chuck Norris? We all know the answer.
Expect to fight Juylan in 6.4 in the next ultimate fight.
Julyan is satirical OP. However, I believe Shadeversity posted a video exhibiting the validity of a frying pan as legitimate combat weapon (though much better for defense). Also pretty sure Julyan is a WAR main, and is also a CUL. I need to figure out how she adds inner release to her crafting rotation.
I didn't know this is something I want to see until I read this thread.
depends if it happens in hildy or the msq
in the msq i can see them killing off a comic relief character for the sake of drama
but in hildy zenos is a dead man
Best character vs best character? Hmm...
Canonically, the WoL solos all those bosses. For gameplay purposes, they mention bringing in friends. Lyse even made a tongue-in-cheek comment about that during Stormblood.
I think G'raha Tia summoning other heroes across the rift to help us battle Hades is the first in-game instance I've seen where bringing in help is explicitly shown in a cutscene. Then of course, we do see the other Scions help us take him down at the end.
This is exactly why I was asking that question. If they are indeed canon, and by that I mean all the combat abilities we see from Godbert and Julyan actually count, then either one of them could unironically solo the entirety of the FFXIV universe with ease. They could not only solo Zenos, but could likely one-shot Lahabrea, Emet-Selch, and Elidibus. Any single primal would not be a problem at all for them. Alexander? Omega? They could shrug them off. Nidhogg could have been slain in seconds. Hell, send them to Bozja and the whole thing would be over in minutes.
I have no doubt the meetings and investigations took place, but some of those abilities were like...this is just for fun, right?
