FINAL FANTASY XIV: ENDWALKER - Job Actions

Hrothgar Reaper wearing the Hat.
Just Saying again because :3
Oh yes, and Summoner looks Pretty Great. Im excited to Learn it now.
It seems Summoner both leans in to the SUMMONING aspect (summon the Primal for their Ultimate attack) and the Trance aspect... it'll be interesting to relearn.
I'm... intrigued by what they do with Dancer, one skill seemed to automatically complete Standard Step after doing Technical Finish, plus whatever that bird attack and the skill after Improvisation was.
Whatever that flower thing is for WHM looks interesting
And whatever was used after Improv on Dancer
It looks like they finally upgraded Fire II into something better that's actually worth using, and having a new spell to replace Fire with was also a good choice because it seemed a bit...out of place in BLM's otherwise extremely flashy rotation.
I'm assuming that phoenix is the upgraded version of Fan Dance III as the move was noticeably absent from the skill showcase and was also used after they popped Flourish.
SMN finally got the proper aesthetics for its first three egi it deserves. Carbuncle is out but fills the same role as a minion while you channel through your body the very powers of the egi.
I am super stoked but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about how it could be keeping it's overly long rotation. In any case, hopefully I get back into it as it was my main job since I started playing and stormblood but I completely left it behind this expansion.
Also, I like that they made PLD flashier. Guess that's to be expected as it's the poster job for the EW ;)
Scholar wasn't encouraging.
I'm glad Red Mage got something a little flashier. Most of its spells have been pretty basic visually and even Verflare and Verholy always lacked impact (no pun intended) to me.
PLD's new combo that's seemingly enabled after using Confiteor also gave it a much needed boost in the flashiness department.
I mained SCH.
Smn, Rdm and Mnk all looked really cool for DPS. Samurai looked kinda boring in comparison, unfortunately. Nothing super flashy like the others.
Perhaps, I saw that the Shroud Mode spends "points" for each attack (some cost more than others).
So it's possible that it uses oGCD skills but only as long as the "points" lasts.
There was a timer as well, but I guess that's just the time you have to spend them before going back to normal.
Which doesn't seem difficult at all.
Unless the rotation gets disrubted by having to run away due to a mechanic.
I'm hyped for the Reaper.
Seems like a fast, fluid job.
However, I didn't really like that they will have some skills that are positionals.
Had hoped for none of those.
But it just means I just gotta build some muscle memory on when to stand where in a rotation.
Never done that before since I've basicly only played Tanks since I started.
So it'll be something new for me to learn.
It wouldn't surprise me if we could potentially get 2 transforms back to back. I'm curious what the difference about meter is. They only show the transform at 50 gauge. It can go up to 100. Not sure if increased damage or multiple transforms.
Dragoon makes me sad that BotD is now a passive trait. Dragoon just got so basic.
I'm super happy with what I saw for GNB. And SMN...good lord, SMN. My friend who plays SMN pretty regularly was stoked and so was I. Might end up dropping RDM as my "main" caster.
Summoner summoning alone already has me excited!
though I am concerned about how long my opener is going to be with 3 more egis to juggle LOL
It's confirmed that new skills will proc after Technical Finish, Improvisation, and Devilment. Means Improv will finally be useful in regular content (or at least content without heavy downtime). So the blue aura dance after Technical that gave a full Esprit timer, the phoenix skill, another Skill after Sword Dance, and the one after Improv.
Doesn't say if the one after Improv was an attack or support, so guess we'll have to wait for the media tour when we can read the skills.
The red meter seems to focus on using the Specter as a skill.
Where the Blue meter is used for the Transformation itself.
In the trailer the Blue meter reached 80 when he transformed and then went down to 30.
During the transformation the bar meters got grayed out and the "points" came into play instead.
But it should be possible (unless the transformation has a CD) that one can do 2 in succession if it reaches 100 before transforming.
So far I've decent hopes for MNK, BRD, NIN, SMN(?), BLM, RDM, and RPR, which is honestly doing better than I expected.
DRK seems to have taken an obliviating slap, though, while WAR's wild slap-spam still sorely misses an animated reason for its axe vanishing and reappearing.
The interval between bahamut and phoenix is not that long. Using all those 3 primal buffs for their entire duration back to back is definitely longer than the interval.
So I guess either we'll cut short the primal buffs or space them out between different intervals (the one between phoenix and the next trance is longer).
Doesn't look like a dash to me.
He did what looks like an AOE buff before running out, so my guess is that it's an AOE haste.
No more DoTs, SMN got an entire rework...
I'm kinda disappointed with the summoner stuff.
As a Bard main I'm pretty disappointed. A new song based support that yet again does not apply to self and a combo action to Apex Arrow, an RNG skill. Can't say I'm particularly excited.
Very quick comment, as I haven't had time to watch the entire live letter, yet, but saw the job actions- all the spells were cool looking to be honest, but bard's music effect sticking around for some time was nice (the spell aura), the star shower effect on AST caught me, monk's moves looked dragonball Z like lol (which is fun), white mage water like spells being brought back is interesting (and that plant is cute), new red mage spells are /very/ pretty, summoner had me going Woooooo!! I'm very excited for that (it looks like, and I hope is true, there are some small differences between each ifrit, titan, and garuda phase), both sage and reaper look fun, I liked there was a movement skill on sage, and reaper is a theme I'm already bought into (dark theme'd job, just a thing I like), and finally Paladin's sword attacks were pretty insane. Will level all the jobs in the end but I know for sure that Summoner, Sage, Reaper, and Paladin are going to be first (red mage quickly to follow).
