Summoner - Rework - Everything is changing

Summoner/Scholar are breaking apart there no longer a arcanist. when create a character you can pick summoner or scholar at lvl at the screen. this is wonderful change sense this takes alot alot problems when baliencing both jobs

First and for-most issue thats being fixed is pets. more importantly pet jank. when you tell your pet to do something it doesn't use ability and it ignores you ability goes on cooldown anyway. this is a problem

this is something all summorers been wanting for along time a very long. say goodbye by to the "chicken nuggets"

summoners have only 1 perminate pet out. and has 2 modes. by switching to melee mode you deal more physical attacks by switching ranged mode pet deal more ranged attacks

however do not disappear my friend. cause this pet charges up a new bar called summoning gauge. guess what you can summon when that gauge is filled to the max.

thats right titan-garuda-ifirit-shiva-levathen-ramuh-behamut and pheonix you get select whatever you want on battlefield. selecting the one merging it with your perminate pet. it lasts for duration. when duration closes to finish it preform its and kill your perma pet watch have resummons

these pets will automatic perform a set rotation without much player input the only thing that is required is casting either ruin 1 or ruin 2 your rotation is no longer 30-100 button rotation at lvl80 and no longer have hate yourself for playing this job good. or regrat not rolling black mage sense they do more damage with less effort. then you do . examplation fire 4, fire 4, and fire 4 more fire 4s

summoner can do summoner things while looking like spellcaster-chad. this new system is inspired by final fantasy 7 remake summons watch is pretty darn sweet if i may say so myself. summon a cool looking monster it starts pummelling whatever your attacking while you put dots whatever phew phew on the target

however you cant expect a summoner pets do that much damage in mmo. but at same thing should look feel cool fun to play not something came from McDonald's not insulting mcdonalds or anything but expects burgers from mcdonalds not on my summoner

however let say this for these things to lately follow you i use word lately. you must beat them in one v one combat and has done msq version of them this doesn't include bahamut and pheonix no dont have do coils of bahamut solo

......so are like leaking this info or like these are suggestions on how you'd do it or wa?

would be fantastic if they went there summoner been begging for it sense realm reborn. yoshi-p hasn't really talked on it much

A lot to digest here, more importantly all of it seems too vague to take seriously, but firstly

Selecting a JOB that requires a job stone would never happen at the beginning Arcanist is a class that evolves into either SMN or SCH. No jobs exist that are level 1 (as much as I’d love for them to try to give new players a chance to level new jobs) or at the very least have SCH sever its tie from via SMN leveling.

Pet AI can’t be fixed because Egi’s are gone, and once again Egi are so closely tied to the lore and progression kit they’d have to rewrite the jobs lore and quests to make it make sense for the context of the kit

Pets automatically doing their rotation seems pointless, and as engaging as placing Bio on your enemies. As “flashy and cool” as they can be it’ll be as fun realistically as Queen is for MCH or Living shadow for DRK. Toothless and loose and a downgrade

You understand one issue with Pet Ai but I don’t think you understand what makes jobs good, the line between poor design and engagement. If you did you’d be more specific instead of list a fever dream of all the dated non-SMN mains issues which boil down to “make them cool looking” which time and time again doesn’t fix jack Schit

i know few ppl like serious lots of them wont touch summoner simply pets look like floating pile poop yes its classic meme but still goes onto this very day. in fact here lore crap be brought up a lot. hey and mech queen is awesome. ok no i play summoner enough to know you got rotation cant sit there say you don't is it hard rotation no but does summoners hate being good at there job very much so. honest i dont give a shit how they fix pet ai they just do it

has nothing to do with having great wonderful pets walk around with you. perfrom actions like in ff7 remake. cause im sorry that summon system is so much better then 14 give up current system for that anyday having big beautiful sex summon melee attack and use rotation. until the meter runs out automatically enkindles and disappears. then summoner another

i want it to feel like a "Final fantasy summoner" without it breaking the game currently have bahamut atm he looks cool so cant say it cant be idea of fighting your pet make it submit to your will is cool thing for summoner. yes i feel alot things about summoner lore should be rewrited cause it holds the summoner back way too much. prevents them having anything actually remotely cool

for god sakes articulate your words better! I’m tryna to meet you half way but it’s hard to understand the abundance of spelling errors and run-on tangents (assuming Your fluency with English)

It’s also hard to empathize with constant comparisons to FF7R, which I hope your desires are grounded enough to realize FF14 is a MMO not a Single player RPG. Also your haven’t said a word on gameplay which I hope to god your taking under consideration with all this shallow glint and glamour. I don’t wanna see this elegantly designed demi primal just for it to disappear much like Queen. Which your complimented blindly, which to me invalidated everything as much as I and most MCH mains dislike turrets superficially being striped away to look “cool”

And yet another player who thinks they can "reinvent the wheel" (as it were) when it comes to SMN, all while:

A) ignoring its established lore and aesthetics
B) constantly comparing it with other games' takes on summoning (in this case, with FF7R's)

Also kind of pointless, considering what we've seen from EW's benchmark and the AF5 CG renders...

And from what I've seen, you haven't even leveled ACN at all (unless it's an alt).
So how would you know what ACN/SMN/SCH actually needs?

Lore can be changed. They adjusted Astrologians lore to an extent to compensate for all the cards providing dps increase. So can we stop using that as an excuse to why things can’t be changed.

I’m not saying I agree with everything OP said but lore can be changed so let’s stop using that as a scape goat. That does nothing but tell people the devs limited and boxed themselves in a corner with lore for the jobs. I’m not saying it’s easy to change but it can be done.

In short, the lore of the cards themselves (as well as what was "supposedly" changed) remained intact.
Not to mention that AST still relies on cards as its main mechanic.

What the OP and you suggest would be akin to removing the cards from AST or the faeries from SCH.

Besides, drastically changing lore because some people don't like an aspect of it is a (huge) slippery slope.
Where would that end?

Especially since one of FF14's main strengths is the consistency of its overall lore (class/job included).

Please don't change the Summoner Lore massively. :(

Also, from a very simple POV it can be determined that those ideas are but a pipe dream: Elaborate Skill Animations for multiple summons? Other jobs would riot and (rightfully) demand the same, resulting in an abnormal workload.

Let’s be clear for a second. I never said I wanted the egis gone or wanted them removed. All I said was the dev team didn’t box themselves into the corner with lore. They can always slightly change it or even completely change it all together. That’s fantasy. Things can always change. Lore is always people’s scapegoat and that’s just not true. That’s all I’m saying.
