Petition to balance housing system and against black market

Dear players of Eorzea,

Despite of lack of answers from Square Enix about the housing issue, here you can find my petition to balance the housing system against black market : http://chng.it/8v4ph6SD6x
In my server (Spriggan), there are a lot of tags who maintains emty houses for personnal projects and for sell to players.

You can fin the explanation and the method used to do that. It is an example in Spriggan but this server discord found recently aims all servers (EU, NA or JP) and will not help old or new players to have a house.

We try to have an answer from Square Enix about that. Please help players with a vote :)

A petition is not a legal binding contract, and SE won't answer. The reason they won't answer is because it's uncontrollable, unless they make it so the house is removed when leadership of an FC is passed and that would not be a good thing at all. So basically, it's not possible to police people selling houses through FC leadership and it won't be changed because it would cause too much of a problem transferring legit FC leadership.

Good luck trying to push that narrative.

Anyone who buys a house off the “black market,” as you are calling it, must have already owned a house to begin with in order to relocate and skip the placard wait time. So when this happens a house opens up either way (the one being relocated from) and anyone has a chance to get it.

This is not always true. You can purchase a FC that owns a house. They then relinquish that FC to you and voila - you now have an FC with a house. This is how some people have almost an entire ward of houses that are FCs. There is a player that is notorious for doing this with alts (I can't for the life of me remember what server they play on, but I know it's on one of the NA data centers.)

Yes this method is applicated in FFXIV Housing Market, one of whose moderators occupies the entire sector 20 of The Goblet and begins to obtain sector 18 on Spriggan : https://discord.gg/eqdApTJ
In Spriggan, there are a lot of tags : Lucis, Norf, Tob, uwu

They joke me since i report that but i dont care if they laugh about me xD

Yes it's in place in case an FC leader quits the game, the house won't be lost and the next person in line inherits the FC & the house. It just gets misused as people are wont to do things like that unfortunately.

it is above all up to square enix to plug some of the breaches in their housing system,
it is true that with such a system which does not respond to supply and demand it is unacceptable to see players possessing 12-13 houses, or an entire area,
all this to farm gils with the workshop, is kind of a fraud.

they could already change the conditions for obtaining a fc house, because seeing a character level 1 be a member of fc , and having the workshop is a little too easy
it clearly has a way of imposing a minimum level, a certain advance in the msq for buy a house plot .

Couldn't even use the correct terminology. CL? What's that. Foreign language for FC?
Anyways, there isn't a "black market" much anymore. I'd say it was killed off for most part with the timer.

The owner of the Lucis houses has reported themselves to the GM before:

Also when they moved to Spriggan, it was a dead server with mediums and larges sitting at max devalued price for months.

Me buying an FC when my friends and I jumped to Odin from Cerberus was the only way to 100% for sure get a new FC house.

At least with new housing in 6.X they said some are gonna be raffled, some are FFA, and some are for FC transfers, so there's some change at the least

It's still thriving, feel free to check out some housing servers. You'll get dozens of new ads a week.

Or they could just scrap all the wards.
Free some much needed server space.
Make all housing instanced.

Doubt it's gonna happen.
Since the players who own ward housing are chained to their sub.
Not to mention the outrage after all the time spent getting the plot, decorating the house etc.

In the past, players could purchase multiple personal houses on the same account.
When the rules changed for personal housing, all those who owned multiple personal houses were grandfathered in.

SE doesn't have a habit of retroactively taking things away from players who have fairly earned them.

Would be more productive to ask for upgradeable(gil) apartments with balconies for gardening and workshop access.

Or that the Island Sanctuary will be some form of instanced housing.

Not gonna happen. If it was going to we wouldn't be having Ishgard housing set up with a new lottery system, they would have just set it up with instanced. They have no interest in changing the neighborhood set up. The closest thing we have to instanced is apartments and that's all we're gonna get.

Island Sanc is also not going to be housing, it's already heavily believed to be closer to the Garrison system in WoW.

Housing... servers?

I'm all for delete the wards, and just add instance housing. The ward system is cute from a MMORPG stand point, but on the NA side of things. I never felt like the ward was a community. Even on the RP server. I don't see people talking in ward, hanging out in it (besides pub rp and even that is not in the ward itself.).


I'm not sure if it is the same in the JP community. I doubt it since they don't tend to talk as much in the open. So what is the point of the ward besides being a waste of server space.

This has been displayed many times before as "proof" it's okay to own multiple FC houses when the GM states nothing of the sort. The GM refers the player to the Lodestone Housing Guide then states they cannot comment further as it is not within their authority to do so.

The supervisor comment that "if the game lets you do it, then it's okay to do it" is false because we know that isn't the case via situations like Ungarmax. Players were "allowed" to use Ungarmax outside of squadron dungeons for close to a year before SE turned around and said "no, that's an exploit, here's your ban for abusing it".

All the GMs know is they don't have the authority to comment on or take action on housing ownership issues. There's a big void in communication between the development team (which the GMs are not a part of) and the player base on who the players need to talk to for such situations.

Not gonna repeat the same old tired arguments we have over at the housing forums. Players have been able to own 8 FC houses on the same account on a server for years now.

If this was indeed an exploit, you'd think SE would have taken action by now. Considering the number of people reporting multi FC house owners and the owners reporting themselves.
