More rewards for 'completionists'.

In Shadowbringers, we got a mount as a reward for leveling all our jobs.
We recently got the TT Card mount too. Since then, I feel like a lot more people are trying to collect the cards.
I love this trend, and I want more!

I believe it would be nice for other similar mounts to be added to give people some motivation to try all sort of content:
- give me a flying orchestrion roll when I am done collecting them all
- make mounts for the dedicated fishers out there (could be cool to fly on the Ruby Dragon for example)
- The Apkallu minion is nice and all but a mount for getting all the vistas would be cool. Make that Kugane jump puzzle rewarding!
- Crafting log. Give me a mount for that too! Shiny tools are cool and all, but that's really not enough considering how tedious it can be to complete.

Edit: other suggestions made through the thread :
- Completing all sidequests
- Getting all the relic weapons
- Getting a specific amount of minions/mounts

There's some content I would definitely do if there was a reward at the end. Just in the last month or so, I got 100 new cards because now there's a point to collecting them all beyond bragging rights.

I would love a mount for fishing

This kinda stuff goes a little bit of a way toward making the achievement system a bit less of a joke overall, so I'm definitely for it as long as the brunt of it is actually on completing a wide variety of different tasks, sometimes in interesting ways (as is the case with the triple triad mount) instead of just hitting arbitrarily high numbers of repeating the same task.

For some of that they seem to think that a title is sufficient, and stuff like <big fish> or <gunnhildr's blade> are kinda cool, but it'd be neat to have more distinct glamour and mount rewards too.

I'd love for them to move away from the 'clear the last fight of the raid tier 10 times' achievement series and towards a 'clear the last fight of the raid tier as a tank, healer, and DPS' one that awards some type of cosmetic

I like all of this.

I'd like to see some longterm stuff like a mount or glamour for doing all the quests in a particular expansion. (I'm there; it doesn't take THAT long, but I did it more because I wanted a clean map...still would be nice to get a hat or something)

OMG, yes! I’ve completed all crafting logs for all 8 jobs, 6 fishes away frm 1140 achievement and more than half way with the cards. I would loooooove more rewards

Agreed. I'd like more rewards for long term accomplishments.

That one is way too easy to get though! And it makes big fishing even more frustrating for the lack of such a reward.

It would be nice to get a mount for collecting 100+ mounts (aka half the mounts) and a minion for collecting 200+ minions (aka half the minions). This would give more incentive to players trying out content they normally avoid, like pvp and such.

Wouldn't get me to PvP any more than I already do (so basically not at all) but I'd love to have some more collecting achievements like these for sure.

I love to see mount for crafting and gathering jobs when get them to max level. Also think each class should get a job class mount like the tanks do.

Would be cool that after crafting everything available in your log, you got to craft your own mount. (or barding for your chocobo, or barding for a specific mount, or all 3)

I like the majority of the ideas in this thread!

The only one I don’t like is the bit about having to delve into PvP, lol

I don’t mind PvP having its own rewards, but if something requires playing other game modes AND PvP then that’ll annoy me. I don’t do PvP anymore and won’t, WoW absolutely ruined that aspect of gameplay for me forever and I’m beyond bitter about what that game mode did to my friends.

Yes, having incentives to play the game more and do stuff that’s not singularly focused on end-game raiding is an excellent idea!

Anything that tries to drag more non-PvP players into PvP… not so much.

I like most of your ideas, except don't do anything mount-wise for orchestraion rolls until they make the majong music available another way.... I own everything (not counting physical item rolls or mog station) but my collection will forever stay incomplete because of that one...

Something I've wanted for a while is a small epilogue quest at the end of the various relic storylines that is done after getting all the relics for that expansion. Something kinda capping off whatever they were doing, like finally remaking all 10 zodiac brave weapons, or completing the research on self aware weapons. Also showing that in spite of fulfilling the latest herculean feat, he's back in debt again in no time.

It is the only one I am missing as well. But that's exactly my point to be honest. If I could get something nice out of it, I would definitely try to understand Mahjong, and maybe I would even fall in love with it! Right now, there is no way :P

I'd say that's glam, though. For me personally, all the mounts start to blur together. Haha

True, but the thing with glam is that you will just hunt for the ones you really want to use (due to the lack of an actual glam log).
Mounts are more like a thing that people will just try to unlock because they can, and when it is done it is unlocked forever.
If they ever add a glam log, then I think having more glam as achievement rewards would be fine too.

Either mount or glamour are the things that usually get me to do something, and usually weapon glamour the most. Titles for me are fine but they are always hit and miss...

I got all the field notes and my bike , and very close to both the triple triad mount, and at least one of the balls in pvp and the GC horse. Still want more stuff like that to work towards (and doesn't have to be a mount, can be anything else).
Also to your other post, I assume the Khloe mounts you mean are Construct 6S and the one horse? Those aren't very difficult to get when you know how to make gil tbh or actually do Unreal every week with a group. Was kinda disappointed with the rewards for the last Unreal becuase there was no new mount (but a very cute and funny anteater minion so I'll accept that at least)

I'm all for more content, and not trying to be exclusionary but it does feel "nice" to have something that is rare or hard to get. There is a sense of pride of "I earned this." It would be kind of a nice to see more things like that. Like the Ultimate weapons but in mounts. Where you can see someone did a lot of work just by looking at them. Kind of like seeing the Morbol mount.

How about a reward for getting every single achievement that has ever existed in the game. That includes legacy, and all the ones that are only around for a short time like seasonal ones. If you missed even one ever, you can't get the prize at the end.

Why yes this is meant to be impossible, why do you ask? :p

I personally don't like the achievements that are like "complete X 100 times". That's not completion to me, it's "just" a grind.
I enjoyed getting the field notes though, because it is like the TT cards, something you only need to get once, and that's actually another example of completionism being rewarded.

I get the feeling that we're getting things like the "all cards" mount is because they really want to sell the hype that this is "the end" of the game.

Rewards for being a 'completionist', really? For a game where the Producer encourages people to take breaks from the game (so they come back and play more later)?

You get rewards for all sorts of things, you just don't recognize it unless it occupies a minion or mount slot, apparently. Don't you all ever go to bed?

What's wrong with committed, veteran players getting a reward for pursuing long term goals?

The quote in question, urging players to take breaks, is also from an interview made years ago - and isn't really applicable given that many players have to log in at least once every 45 days in order to keep their house. Which in turn means that no break can last more than a month at a time and a lot of people prefer to get their money's worth out of something if they're subscribing to it...thus, the desire to play.

Why would completionism and breaks be incompatible? It probably takes as much time farming 99 EX trials than getting all the new big fish in a given patch.
Based on your logic, if he really doesn't want people to play the game for too long, then maybe he should make the mount drop rates 100% too...

All I am saying is that there should be more cosmetic rewards and incentives for things that are not exclusively combat-based, and that are not a terribly long grind which just asks you to repeat the same task 1000 times.

Very true indeed. But I mean it needs to be cosmetic and not just a title IMHO.
