New macro icons, these are nice but they're still not what I need!

I was thrilled when I saw in the patch notes that new macro icons would be added. We now get icons for just about every skill in the game.

Wow, uuh.. that's... well... not going to help me much.

Is it too much to ask to have icons for classes and jobs, and something that looks like equipment slots?

Most of my macros are for equipment changes.

I want my Goldsmith class change + equip macro to have the Goldsmith's Guild icon. I want my CNJ class change + equip macro to have the Conjurer's Guild icon. I want my WHM job change + AF equip macro to have the Soul of the White Mage jobstone image or White Mage job icon.

These are fantastic and actually appropriate for gear swap macros. Although they should've been at launch, thank you for finally adding them.

I think that just for the heck of it, I'll make some before/after screenshots of my macro bars once 1.22c hits, just so you can see the funky stuff I've had to settle for until these icons came up :P

Twelve pages of macro icons! Yihs! (it's like saying yes, but your lips stick out at the end when you're finished).

We are not stopping at just guild and job icons! We will be vastly increasing the number of macro icons that you will be able to choose from.

You may be saying, “but Rukkirii, this will make macros hard to find if you add too many… *sadface*”.
Have no fear, my friends! We are also working on developing an icon search function along with the increase of more icons. Hooray!

Would be even better if the system could simply predict the kind of icon you'd want to use based on the commands. e.g. if it has a command for thundara in it, then it would automatically use the icon for that.

uhhh what about more macros to put the icons on

In WoW, dragging an icon from the skill book onto the macro text field automatically inputs the text command to use that skill and puts that skill's icon as the macro icon. Similarly, dragging a piece of gear into the macro text field automatically inputs the text command for equipping that item. The same goes for using consumable items as well.

Hoping FFXIV has similar functionality.

On a side note, should not Manequins be able to handle the wardrobe issues?

Lets get things working FIRST then in a later update make things better.

And WoW had so good ideas i stayed with ff11 i should have branch out more.

That would be interesting though it would be nice if we could manual override it as well.

I hope "icon search" is some kind of mistranslation. Surely it'd be easier to break things up into different item categories that you can browse by or the like? I'm not even sure how a "search" would work.

Why not just enable the ability to use ANY pre-existing in game icon for macros? I have an add-on for Rift that does this, and its really nice at how many thousands of Icons I can choose from. It makes it a lot easier to find that perfect icon.

How about more macros in general...2/5 pages of my macros are used just for changing between 16 of the 18 different jobs. Doesn't leave a lot of room to actually use the macros for those jobs.
