Queues time to log in are getting worse over the days.

I mean, when i started playing 3 weeks ago it was normal to see something around 30 players max in queue and have to wait something around 30 seconds or 1 minute, but now...

40 minutes on queue to log in (Light/Shiva), isn't it time to maybe open a new server?

Its getting ridicules to be honest, I have wasted a lot of time just trying to log in after work and I usually have a strict play schedule.
Something must be done, maybe the next maintenance they will address it.

That sounds like the server crashed and everyone was trying to log back in at the same time. EU servers are mostly dead.

People wanted FFXIV to be more populare and successful, now we gotta pay the price for our hubris.

Yeah, the last time I recall seeing it like this was when we were all lumped together on Chaos and the hamsters hadn't been fed.

We're seeing it in EU as well of recently. I login in the morning and don't log out until I go to bed so I rarely get impacted but I had friends and people in my FC being stuck at 300-400 people queue. Normally we see 10-20 max.

It'll fall off once the free login period ends and a lot of the new comers fall off

I've not seen it be super bad but I've noticed they are bigger then normal. Mornings I used to have no queue or maybe like 3 people, now even in the mornings it's 30+.

Either the data server's fallen over, or it might be DDoS stuff afoot. Got to 6 in the queue after 20 mins, lobby error, kicked, 400-odd queue wait again.

Somewhere, some hamsters are hungry and protesting.

EDIT: The alt got in after circa 40 minutes. Am trying the main now, though I think it's maybe the data centre with some hiccups more than anything.

yeah, the times are HORRENDOUS.. had 36 people ahead of me and took 25 seconds to log in. MADNESS!

seriously though, if there are 1300 people ahead of you, likely was more of a server went down than that many people in line ahead of you in a normal queue

Interesting to see what is going with the EU. Not sure if this is the Asmongold affect or what is going on but they do have less servers then NA and JP. I wonder if they are strongly considering adding new EU servers if this continues.

Im all fine with this "free log in campaign" but paying subscribers should not be prevented from playing the game because of this.

started as number 300 something... been playing for years and only time had issues was on launch of new expansions and I guess housewars as well

You cant even use the world visit system anymore, they need to add more servers or something.

I doubt we can pinpoint it on Asmongold, seeing he play on a NA data center. I think it more of free login period and lot new trial players.
It will likely drop off soon if not even by tomorrow. It's odd to see it spike on a sunday night.

And yes we might need more servers in EU in general.

He probably means that, if you're a subscriber then you should have priority on the queue system, which i may agree to a certain degree but... if the point of free trial accounts is to have people engaged in to the game, but the first thing they see is that not only they have to deal with the current free trial restrictions but also with a much longer login period this will not make people more engaged on the game and make them actually want to buy it, this will feel more like a penalization for not paying rather than paying for a couple of nice features, and it is more likely to backfire and push them away instead.

Back on topic, this issue is probably due to the recent increase in players over the last 2 weeks, and this just didn't suddenly happen today, 2 days ago i already had to wait 10 min to log in with 300 people in queue, and yesterday up to 45X with a similar queue time.

Need to reinstate the log out timer methinks.

I can confirm a server crash around 9pm (Paris time). Took me 20 minutes to log again. Recently my character doesn’t even show on log screen when I start playing on evening. (It’s ok to log in the morning, afternoon, but still...)

No, free trial accou ts can't queue in to the servers if there is an actual queue.


The free login period is different. It's a time limited free login for players who bought but are currently unsubbed.

A lot of people come back to the one after the latest patch to do the expansion content.

Yeah, after a little while of stability, the server bounced me out with lobby issues. It's not just servers, it's the Light data centre. It might well be because of the influx of new players, it might not.

So yeah. The hamsters just need fed is all.

Looks like there is information now on the lodestone. It also looks like the fixed about the same time you made the post as your post shows 1 minute after the effected time.

The game has just actually grown. Lucky Bancho's new statistics say that the game grew by 250,000 to 1.2 million (this is just people level 60 or higher, so it excludes trials which are a significant thing now). The steam statistics show a peak of 60,000 up from the previous peak of 40,000 at Shadowbringers release. It's going to grow more when the expansion releases. History shows a lot of the growth from these things will be permanent.

We may need to get instances and auto-logouts early, before the expansion.

Now that we have the ability to log into a different world when our own world is congested, it's going to spillover to other log in queues when one world is down. With EU only having 6 worlds per data center instead of NA's 8 or JP's 10-11, one world going down will have that much more of an impact.

If they're full, get more servers or rent out some server space until you can get them.

Primal's Instance Servers just took a sh!t because everyone is trying to do Golden Saucer Gates that are instanced (Leap of faith) for make it rain along with other instances.

Gladly. If it's due to more players, then brilliant. That's a price worth paying if it means the game we enjoy is doing well.

Now it's up to Enix to seize the opportunity. Roll out more servers fast, make the game easier to purchase, jump on the goldmine.

This is getting ridiculous that you can't even login to play. On top of it they have the event that started so it's making it worse. SE better start getting new servers up like ASAP or they are going to start having a problem if people are having issues and can't play

This is such a great problem to have during a content lul.

I can't change my character's name because the server can't access my character's data on the login screen.

Umm I play on light DC and I can assure you the servers are far from dead my dude :/

It's fine.

I survived WoW launch with HOURS long queue times, so the complaints here are cute. Real cute.

Likewise for Chaos. We've been seeing a steady increase in the amount of sprouts running around for the past six months or so. It's not as congested as the US servers, perhaps, but I'm even getting into trial groups in the early hours of the morning with less than five minutes to wait as a DPS.

Yeah it's getting quite annoying. Like, I'm happy people are enjoying the game and all but I don't like sitting in queue for half of my free time. I really hope they solve this problem because it's just pure sadness. According to the square enix website all the eu servers are congested and that is not cool.

The login queue is kind of a quasi-cap. As there are always people logging into the game, they are also always logging out of the game. So the queue is kind of a way space out people getting into the server. So it doesn't get trampled at the stroke of 7pm kind of thing. Obviously the better decision long-term is just to increase capacity of how many can fit into the login queue at-once.

Lastly, YoshiP is well-aware, hence the multi-million dollar server investment he mentioned two weeks ago.
