Your ungodly long queue times prevented me from getting important shit done

My wife and I are in dire need of getting groceries, However; we need to be back by a certain time so that we would be home in time because an electrician is supposed to inspect our wiring and give an estimate on repairs after an bath tub jacuzzi was taken out so my mother could use the room as a home office a couple months ago and the men hired to do so said that we had a major electrical problem when the men converted the wiring for the jacuzzi into an outlet for office equipment.

Because the game decided that my wife was REQUIRED to sit in queue for over two hours and counting for Alphascape 2.0 and gave her the false information of it being less than five minutes, she is stuck in queue and there is NO time for us to go get groceries and be back in time for the electrician.

She queued 15 minutes before reset time, which was 11 AM EDT. It is now after 1 PM EDT. and the electrician is expected to arrive at 2 PM. An hour is NOT enough time to get groceries! By the time we catch the bus, ride to the grocery store, get groceries, catch the bus again, ride home, it would be after 4 PM.

We REFUSE to believe that NOBODY did normal raid roulettes during the ENTIRE two hours, it encompasses the entire first hour of reset time, usually a very active time for roulettes. Nobody doing normal raid roulettes is highly unlikely

We cannot get groceries after the electrician shows up because late afternoons/evenings we do other real life responsibilities.

It has been a similar experience for her with pretty much every Stormblood normal raid from Deltascape to Alphascape—It is as if Stormblood normal raids are LAST PRIORITY for normal raid roulettes

We know this is a troll but starting by "My wife" is a bit too obvious.

All FF14 players, including free trial players, have access to Alexander. Eden is the current end-game raid series and still has relevant drops for gearing. Shadowbringers brought in a lot of new players considering how highly reviewed it was. Players that started after Shadowbringers launched might very well have only Eden unlocked.

Stormblood content that is not required for MSQ is currently in an awkward spot of not being in the free trial, and not being current end game. It is reasonable to assume that among all of the Normal Raids roulette duties, it is the least likely to be unlocked and run among the player base. Stormblood alliance raids are also affected by this phenomenon.

Furthermore, players often use roulettes for leveling. A job has to be in the final leg of its leveling journey (level 70+) to become eligible for Omega raids in the Normal Raids roulette, even if a player has them unlocked. This is another characteristic of typical play that works against those raids.

That being said, it remains your choice as to whether to allow a video game to interfere with your real-life needs.

I hope for their sake that they're a troll - spending you life trolling on an internet forum is sad enough in my book (there must be something to be found that would be a better use of ones limited time), but the thought that an actual adult lives their life like this (always assuming the game/SE is out "to get them" personally, not being able to manage their time properly (just... leaving the queue is an option after all) and consequently not being able to enjoy the game, gives me shivers. Now you won't go by yourself to get groceries, because she was in queue for Alphascape 2.0? Why didn't you just go on your own for the groceries? Or you know, queue with her on Scholar or something. I know you've got Summoner at 80 bro. You could be speeding your wife's queues up.

I think my favorite bit is the mothers role in all this. They had a hot tub jacuzzi taken out so she could use the room for a home office? Who uses the bathroom for a home office? Or why couldnt the mother be the one to let the electrician in? Or if that isnt an option, she could go to the store with the wife while OP stayed home for the electrician. "Paragraph" 3 seems to be implying that is is close to 3 hours to make this grocery trip. So why was anyone queing for anything 3 hours and 15 mins before electrician is supposed to be there? Seems like you should already be at the bus stop to make sure you get home early enough. Calling this bad time management is an absurd attack on the concept of time itself. One more thing...

As EorzeaWanderer pointed out, they ARE the last priority. All 8 of the people in the que must be level 70-80, all of them need to have done the stormblood raids which are optional, and none of them can meet the criteria for a faster filling group. EW had it right. The alex raids are in the free trial now(for the people who really milk it), and eden still drops gear(well, tokens) that could be an upgrade for some people at max level. At this point, stormblood normal raids are just for glam and side story.

Final thought. When you saw the que starting to go long, why didnt you join in to help speed it up? A summoner wouldnt be much help, but a tank or heals(like scholar) could have taken that que time way down. A nice poster like you, im sure you arent going to say that youre too selfish to play a class that isnt your favorite if it means helping your wife with something she wants to accomplish. And CLEARLY she wanted this if you guys are going without food for her to try getting it.

Or how about using the party finder to get a group? That way you aren't stuck in a queue until you get a party formed.

Just use party finder, lol. Nobody queues for those anymore. Or join an FC and ask them to help you guys do it, either synced if you have enough people, or unsynced with less.
