Endwalker Exploration Zones

Should we receive exploration zones again in Endwalker. Please take some things into consideration

1: Don't make the area so large that by the time you get to a fate in just one zone of the map the fate is 80-90% dead and players are unable to get credit for it.

2: If you are going to do buffs post level cap again maybe make it so they only apply to the instanced content like Castrum Lacis Latore, Dalriada, and Delubrum Regane. This would also help fates not die so fast.

3: Don't make lost actions required for winning or even just doing things in a reasonable amount of time, or surviving certain engagements. Consider them as just a bonus that makes things better if you have them or...

4: Make Lost Actions, or whatever you call them next time, a one and done thing. Meaning once you have that skill or item you never have to go find it again once you have used it up. Just make them have cool downs, or be a once per zone thing or a until you die thing.

5: The saying is three strikes and you are out. So maybe instead of instant death after getting hit twice you could up that to three times. Two is very low especially when going into something for the first time.

Or maybe they can just position the fate locations closer to the aetherytes or to each other, without us losing the beauty of vast open world zones.

I'm just salty. I hate borrowed power. Blizzard's been doing it since Legion and it's nothing but an unmitigated disaster. Abilities and stuff that only work for one expansion. It's garbage.

I have also seen all the zones of ARR, Heavensward, Stormblood and I looked at all of Shadowbringers before looking at just Bozja.
What I meant is there is a beauty to the open world being vast in an MMORPG, especially if there is something to explore it for.

Just to clarify, OP is talking about the Field Operations maps (aka Eureka and Bozja), and not the rest of the zones.

I was replying to their statement of "beauty of vast open world zones." I never implied warzones were supposed to be pretty.

If the content were balanced around not having Lost Actions, then that would unbalance the content even more when some have them and some don't. It would be a repeat of "I missed out because it was dead before I could get there ".

Either the content needs to be balanced around the existence of Lost Actions, or Lost Actions would need to be removed altogether. Remove the Lost Actions, and you remove what makes the content more interesting than normal FATEs to many players.

The Lost Action system isn't a borrowed power system, though. Lost Actions are consumable buffs. They'll still be available for you to use in Bozja/Zadnor next expansion if you go back to level up new jobs or farm relics you don't obtain this expansion.

But I do agree that borrowed power systems like those in WoW are terrible. No point in putting in all that effort if the reward is going to be permanently taken away from you at expansion's end.

Don't make instanced, gimmicky, exploration zones ; just make interesting things in the open world areas for starter...

Yeah, and since it's important, it would have a specific UI element so we can easily track if we're losing or not.
But 2 or 3 is a little constricted, so the number should be bigger, for more granularity.
It would allows a lot of things, like skills that restore this number, or make it decrease slower. We could even be crazy and say some jobs are dedicated to this.

It just needs a name now...

Which is exactly why I think Lost Actions should be a one and done thing. Once you have it you have it forever. No need to go and farm more of them that people are either unwilling, myself included, or unable, don't have the time for, to go out and do nothing but farm items that may or may not give the Lost Action they need. How many people farming DR for relics say they ran out of Essences long ago. They have no reason or desire to go back to Southern Front or Zadnor to try and get more of these essences that "may" drop from w/e drops them that then "may" contain the item they need. RNG is fine in some things but layers upon layers of it is just maddening.

And yes I get this is content meant to last for the next 6 months. But the devs should know by now people are not going to go farm hours to get Essences just to farm other content. They are just going to farm that content and have it take longer for everyone. (I include my self in this.) Essences are just one example btw.

I'm more talking about the essences.

I have plans to endgame for EW and I'd prefer to not farm more than I have to.

This is a non-sequitur. Nothing in existance right now is going to relate to endgame in EW that isn't 'My job is level 80 and ready to start Endwalker.'

No but if they add essences 2.0 I'm going to be expected to farm them, and playing two games i quite frankly do not have the time.

I'd rather not get shat upon for not having them, like the people on the forum like to.

Is optional content and nothing to do with your main progression. If you don't have the time just focus on the stuff that you want. Relics are a non factor progression wise if you have plans to do end game in a "serious" way. Borrowed power is not a thing in FFXIV, at least so far, Eureka/Bozja/Palace of the Dead progression never goes away.

In any case, with how the content works in FFXIV you are going to have more than enough time to do anything you want.

If you're farming DR for relics, then you're also doing the weekly Castrum/Delriada quests.
You get plenty of essences from just doing Castrum once a week plus whatever you grind out while you're waiting for Castrum to spawn.
You're also grinding mettle to gain valor stacks, in doing so, you may as well be gaining fragments while you're at it.

I'm afraid you are wrong. I'm not doing the once a week quests. I spam DR and that's it.

A shame. Each buff is 5% more HP, def, or damage dealt. They're rather amazing for Delebrum. Had a team full of 10 Valor damage once. Fastest DR run I've ever seen, it was under 20 minutes.

This is actually due to how low the Zandor Skirmishes scale to. Zandor's minimum participant scaling of 1 leads to very soft targets that don't really allow many players to hit targets and there might be a very long time between spawns of certain CE Skimishes.

Skirmishes were melting too fast even before people were getting the permanent buffs.

Either than or make the Lost Action multiuse with Lost Item versions readily available. Having Relect as a multiuse spell that takes up an action slot and a Light Curtain item that you can have multiple in inventory for when you need

Then no one will farm actions once they have gotten their reusable action.

That is more on how the various Fragments were distributed. Only Skill and Awakening fragments which contained Essences were available to be easily farmed. The Superstition Fragments with the more desirable Beast/Bloodsucker/Templar Essences should have been available from mobs in Z3 and Zandor should have dropped some Essence Fragments instead of a bunch of limited use fragments. Essence Fragments being purchasable with clusters or Bozja coins would also help.

You know you can buy Fragments on the Market Boards? I really hope that the next base zone has a retainer bell and market board in it as that would make it easier for both the farmers to supply the fragment equivalents and the people who do not want to farm to buy them. Needing to teleport to a town and then back to Doma and then using the Aethryte to get back to Gangos is to many steps to get Fragments off the market board compared to just running to the market board in Kugane.

I don't have the gil to do that atm. I'm rocking about 20k right now. I'm also terrible at making it since I don't craft or gather. Instead i run dungeons, which are bad for money. Bought a few housing items and fruit for my bird. Had to get some jewelry for my dancer because drops suck and i couldn't get into done dungeons due to item level(hard blocked on one right now because of it still). It all adds up, so I've taken to leveling other jobs praying i make gil while doing it.

Uhm... It shouldn't be to hard to get gil... the average daily roulette should be giving about 8k per run without daily bonuses and you should be able to gear up pretty well with uncapped tomestones. The i490 uncapped tomestone gear is sufficient to get into all dungeon content currently.

You can get over 22k by running three roulettes in a single day (more if those three are trial, alliance raid, and normal raid). Even if you ran one dungeon roulette each day for more than three days you would double your gil amount. If you ran just the roulettes that give you over 30 current gear tomestones (which you can use to buy gear for your other jobs instead of gil) just enough to hit the weekly tome cap, you would be pulling down over 77k a week without even needing to use gil to buy gear since that's what the tomes are going to.

I'm not saying its easy to be a gillionaire, but considering you can pull down 72,640 gil a day for doing all the roulettes or 508,480 a week if you do them all every day (this doesn't include the "in need" bonus that would nearly double this), its simplicity itself to get out of the hole of "22k" if you are just running dungeons, and this is before mentioning using the others tomes you get to buy items to sell for more gil or rolling greed in expert dungeons to get gear for other jobs (or just to sell as well).

Are you desynthing everything that drops? You don't need a craft leveled for it, and while the mats are generally not worth a ton it's still free gil. Can sell the crystals and clusters too.

Buy ventures with grand company seals (you should have a ton from fates) and send them out on Quick Explorations. 99/100 you get just junk (usually some random dungeon gear you just desynth), but every once in a while you get a 200k+ item.

I don't do roulette on my 80 job.

I don't desynth anything. I usually vendor it or turn it in for seals. When I played last you DID need a craft leveled for it iirc. Just started ventures last night, didn't have them unlocked. Actually forgot you had to unlock them(been gone five years).

Don't have expert roulette unlocked. I'm hard locked on item level, and not getting tomestones because I wanted to finish the story before I did the gear grind, but I'm finding I need to do the gear grind first T.T so I'm leveling alt jobs because running max level dungeons I've only run as trusts is intimidating.

A one and done action with a cool down would be lovely. I would find it much more useful, and way less cheesable than these fates are.
