Again, like the Ishgardian example above, the lore makes it very clear pureblood Garleans cannot use magic (well, in some extremely rare instances they can, but to allow a player character to do that would be stretching credibility too far). And really, how different are they from Highlander hyur other than that silly third eye? (which you can somewhat replicate during character creation anyway with facial adornments). This won't happen either sadly.

These are literally just what the Source races are called on the First, and as you can't start the game on the First, this makes zero sense (the player's ability to travel across dimensions was an exception that has now been disabled permenantly). If you want to roleplay as one, change your character's name to a First-centric name and say you're that race from the First. SE will never implement this I'm sorry to say.

I.. take it you mean FFIV's Cecil DRK armour to match the Baron Helm. Which I agree with, but, you can sort of get the same effect with Odin's armour, although that prevents the use of handwear.

Now this I agree with! I'd love a customizable banner as a housing furnishing that could display your FC crest on it (there is already the sign above the entrance outside, but I'm talking about an indoor furnishing). The FC chest already displays the crest anyway so it is capable of being displayed indoors. An accessory to hold that displays the crest would be nice to have too. :D

SE seem to be very selective with their crossover events - specifically they seem to pick licences that SE have proffesional connections with, or Yoshi himself has personal connections (such as the FFXIII event being a 'returning the favour' to Motomu Toriyama featuring Lightning gaining miqo'te starting armour and Grand Company swords in Lightning Returns). I'm not sure what sort of legal wrangling between the men and women with briefcases in boardrooms goes on behind the scenes to allow such crossovers in FFXIV with intellectual properties not SE's own, but I presume it's very complex.

We have already had two special FFXI crossover events over the years, and none were dungeons or raids - they were FATES instead (the first featured a giant Shantotto, the second event was meant to emulate various battles in FFXI, such as 'dooms parties' against Robber Crabs, hunting Serkhet in Altepa Desert, hunting Kindred in Castle Zvahl and Xarcabard, and finally emulating the city mission rank 1.3 battle against Spotter and Dark Dragon). Yoshi already dismissed this back during the Beta test as he wants dungeons to be instanced content (he gave his reasons for at the time, but I cannot remember them I'm afraid, I just remember he was quite firm on open dungeons not coming back). Considering FFXIV 1.0's public dungeons were generally just big underground expanses of nothing, save for an occassional NM, we're not missing much.

Again we somewhat have this, there was that quest in Thanalan near Vesper Bay that gave you no assistance on how to complete it, and the ways to do it are completely random, so even online guides are no help. It's clear this was an experiment which SE considered a failure though (as you only got a tiny bit of gil as a reward, although there is an achievement it grants too), so I do not see doing this again.

There is lore like this, but it's very obscure, and hidden in places you wouldn't expect. Also it's sort of hidden in the sidequests in each area, but again you have to join the dots with a lot of things.

This won't happen. SE doesn't want players idling around the GLA's Guild and adding to Ul'dah's already notorious lag, hence PvP is in the Wolves' Den, it's an entirelly seperate zone. Also the Colleseum is technically reserved for GLA/PLD's only lore wise, so yeah, if you're another class you're out of luck I'm afraid (the PLD Job quests have you fighting there so it's not entirelly wasted).

I don't really do PvP but from what I remember the original Wolves' Den tournament was like this. Players hated it and so SE removed it. So I don't see this returning.

Yoshi hates pet classes, as they're notoriously difficult to balance, which explains why the upcoming Reaper class's vaunted voidsent familar apparently is not actually a pet at all but merely a form of weapon/attack they use. And given the ongoing issues ACN/SMN/SCH have with their pets, and the degradation of MCH's turrets, it's clear SE simply are not interested in new pet Jobs being added I'm sorry to say.

Between Viera men and the Reaper job, I'm inclined to believe that if enough people ask for something and in a persistent manner then there's a decent chance that it could be added to the game at some point in the future. Ultimately the lore will be tweaked as needed to accommodate such elements, or a new point of entry might be added to the MSQ's with less restrictive conditions.

Either way, the game is supposedly locked in when it comes to another ten years of development which means there's going to be plenty of opportunities for neat stuff to be added in the coming years.

No it isn't "all doable".

As she said, there's no visual difference in the majority of races you're requesting, with lore being the only distinction. Ishgardian Elezen characters ARE Wildwood Elezen NPCs in the game programming. Kai-Shirr is a Miqo'te NPC even if he'd tell you he's a Mystel. And so on.

It wouldn't make any lore sense to give players the choice of races by their names in the First, several expansions and a literal world away from learning about them.

And Garleans are their own thing but I personally doubt they would become playable. They are primarily modified Hyur and Elezen models in any case.

I'm not going to pick apart everything, but "I can imagine this being a thing" doesn't automatically make it possible.

Eh, I don't know...

A group of players insisted that we wouldn't be going to Sharlayan anytime soon because it was sealed off to the outside world and had a strict policy of isolation even harsher than Ishgard's former stance. We're set to visit the place in Endwalker.

A similar group of players claimed that we'd never get Viera men added to the name because of how restrictive their lore happened to be and the fact that they were described as never being seen by outsiders. They're also set to appear in Endwalker - as a playable option.

I recall pushing many times over the years for a 'darker' job along the lines of a Demon Hunter or Warlock from World of Warcraft. It was proposed by some that it'd never happen because the player character would supposedly never, ever make pacts with Voidsent. Yet again, as of Endwalker we're getting the Reaper job with such a premise.

I think there's a pretty good chance that the development team will just add whatever proves popular, ultimately. Even if it involves tweaking the lore to accommodate such additions.

Didn't they say they weren't adding races anymore? Why are folks still asking for more races when SE said no more?

That was stated before the game was confirmed to be set for additional expansions. Yoshi-P has since spoken up to state that it is no longer an impossibility.

Besides, even when a business claims that they're not going to do something it need not mean that circumstances cannot change or demand can grow for the position to be reversed. It's precisely how many of the game's additions over the years have come to be.

According to Yoshi-P BLU are too powerful a job to be a real playable one in normal content, and I have to say that's pretty true, seeing how the presence of an BLU breaks up dungeon mob packs by itself into 1 or 2 spells.

As mentioned above, an Ishgardian is an Elezen living in the polar north.
To say that an Ishgardian is not Elezen is like saying that an Eskimo is not a human.

They said - recently - that they didn't think they could add new races beyond the original Viera/Hrothgar. They've been pushed to effectively add one more race beyond that by adding the alternate genders.

Admittedly that doesn't necessarily rule out new races using the exact same body models as existing ones, but they certainly haven't only said "no more races" before changing it because they were planning additional expansions.

If anything, I suspect they were holding their "one last manageable race" in reserve for a future expansion but have since concluded they have no choice but to use it for completing Viera and Hrothgar ASAP.

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally for new races if ever possible. More variety is always good.

I just thought you know, since he said that, I'm just shocked that people are still so soon asking for more still. Which by all means I guess go for it. Not against it at all.

I'd be more for more clans than races to be added imho, and for Viera/Hrothgar to get more customization first though. Baby steps.

Things I'd like.

Hunt log for all classes(and the Grand Companies), all the way to level 80.
Jobs and classes for everything, lets have musketier for MCH, and other silly names if we take the stone off.
ARR, HW, SB relics for all classes. (Relic weapons, and relic armor too)
Grand company ranks and squad missions that go all the way up to meet with trusts.
Egi Glams.
A total of four limited jobs with a limited job roulette. Onion Knight, Beast Master, and Chemist.
Blue Mage Limit Break.
Two ultimates from each Expansion (including ARR content).
SCH and SUM split up.
Combat Levquests past 50.
More offhand options for FSH.
Bait box storage/offhand for FSH.
The ability to complete achievements with new game +.
Vagrant Story Deep Dungeon.
Nostalgia Diadem, a way to reach the now lost achievements.
Tutorials beyond the hall of the novice, based on final fantasy mystic quest. MANDATORY LOCK IN TO SAME FOR JUMP POTION USERS.

Trust based 8 man MSQ missions as an option instead of MSQ roulette.

Allied quests for all beast tribes.

Apartment expansions. Let us buy a second room, a third, a fourth, maybe each of them costs more then the previous one, maybe there's a cap and you can't mcmansion an apartment. Give us a greenhouse room to grow things in. Let us have a backdoor into an instanced yard so we can put our outside things OUTSIDE. We get so many outside items in the game, that we can NEVER use without breaking into housing. Why NOT apartment?

Ishgardians are Elezen. We could have a clan for these but what's the point.
Dwarves are known as Lalafells in this game. You can dress them in Dwarven gear.
Humes are known as Hyur in this game.
Ronso are known as Hrothgar in this game.
Mystel are known as Miqo'te in this game.
We can't play as a Garlean that's true. I think they don't want us to play as enemies.

We have caves in the open world but they aren't used for anything. Maps do take you into instanced ones though.

There are a few hidden quests that don't tell you where the next task is so that you have to figure it out.

There are hunt bosses in the open world that you can spawn by doing different conditions like fishing, gathering, self-destructing or killing hundreds of mobs. These could be what you describe as "hidden mini-bosses", except they are anything but mini.

At least in Shadowbringers, the fates tell the lore of the areas and so do sidequests.

I like how this is a thread simply to share ideas, but the same people from other threads always have to come in and try to shoot down ideas despite not even having basic knowledge on what the devs have said lmao. Especially when they've been wrong numerous times about things being added.

Because it seems good to you doesn't means it's good for everyone. You have ideas that does not change a things like PVP and Hume/Dwarves/Mystel races.
Then you have the idea of adding Garlemald race except it goes against the lore. Would you lock mages out of these races?
Just your cross-over ideas are purely based on your tastes.

What if I want to have an Arknight collab, a Berserk collab or a League of Legends collab?
Because I and others could enjoy it doesn't means everyone would. Nier has been a good example.

That's a common misconception. It isn't impossible for Pureblood Garleans to be able to manipulate aether, it's just rare compared to being the norm for other races.

Though I'd argue that such a rarity isn't any more jarring than the player character being one of the very few White Mages in existence, or how as of Endwalker they can be one of the very few Viera men to take their leave of their homeland and venture out into the wider world.

The game boasts a sizable portion of role-players, at any rate - and of those, quite a few choose to role-play as Pureblood Garleans. I think having it be made into an official option would be pretty cool.

Because it's a collaboration with Disney who are, shall we say, not the most easiest company to license from (also it was Tetsuya Nomura's pet project so it would be entirelly up to him if a crossover was done.). I can pretty much safely say you have a better chance of seeing FFXIV 1.0 restored to operation than a KH crossoever in FFXIV (of course, I am more than happy to eat my words with a big helping of humble pie so may I be proven wrong! :D).

If they were to make it a full job they'd likely not have added the stormblood stuff. There's no way they're going to let the job as is go into current content and reworking it into a normal job with a normal rotation etc would be doable but require a lot of effort and scrapping the systems they have in place for it now.

My interesting idea.

Put an NPC wearing pads and face mask like Mr. Miyagi from karate kid 1.

You're right, that was just my own thoughts on the subject (hence why I said, "I'm pretty sure"), but, given it's pretty telling SE are not interested in expanding on the whole 'Limited Job' system - the sheer volume of vitriol on this very forum towards BLU's execution alone shows just how unpopular (or at the least, polarizing) it has been, and SE are probably keen to avoid repeating that whole can of worms again.

Either way, I concede that was just my own opinion there, and is thus subjective.
