If I'm being honest, I mainly play the game for Housing and Glamour...

I was thinking about it today, and you know, I imagine it's a major struggle for the Devs to decide where to invest resources into making whatever kinds of content. I do really enjoy the story, and I generally enjoy what little group-content I wind up running, although generally on a day-to-day basis, I only do content that I can either solo, or run with 1-3 of my friends (speaking of which; anyone know how difficult it would be to try and acquire the Ultima series weapons from Stormblood with just four 80's?).

What I LOVE most in FFXIV, though, is doing things related to Housing, or Glamour. And really, I imagine those are probably kind of difficult to convey in terms of "player data".

Now, if I'm being honest? My favorite job is still the DRK, but particularly after seeing hundreds of fellow DRK's in Ul'dah yesterday (paying respects to the man who created the GUTS manga, right?), I was kind of struck that a lot of DRK armor looks pretty interchangeable. Decent variety of weapons, though!

All that is to say, while getting Job-specific armor is clearly a TON of work for the artists... well, that's definitely effort well-spent. So *IF* the Devs wanted to consider, say, a second Job-set for the next expansion... well, I certainly wouldn't be opposed! (that, or perhaps a means of "upgrading" it, adding cool new visuals and particle effects, much like weapons traditionally get)

Although, maybe if there were a full "transmog collection" to choose from, people would branch-out a little more from just using the main Job armors?

As for Housing... I'm fortunate enough to not only have a house, but also a very desirable house (one of the beachfront ones in The Mist)! Having a house is something that GREATLY adds to my enjoyment of the game, and my heart really goes out to players still struggling to get a house.

So again, if any efforts were made to add more Wards, or even just improving the process of House acquisition (I've long held that it should be possible to sell or trade the "Deed" to your plot, even just via Market Board), anything to make it more feasible for newcomers to get into a House I think is a worthy investment, as I would *THINK* that like me, having a house would increase players' attachment for FFXIV (but then again, I'm sure the Devs have the data to know whether owning a house has any effect on player-retention).

Anyways, this is mostly just fluff, but wanted to make sure the Devs know that these are definitely some of my favorite aspects in FFXIV, so I happily welcome any addition work they're able to put into these things!

Impossible because thankfully they don't let you unsync ultimates :)

Although we already do have Job-specific armour (it's Artifact Armour (AF)), unfortunately new Jobs do not get a lower level AF set added when each expansion is added, so the later ones seem to lack more options for this, so it's not something that SE seems to regard as a priority sadly.

With the coming expansion they just need to close the chapter well and I'd be satisfied (that doesn't mean they slack just means they'd put a lot into making sure the story / presentation of it is well done) - which sounds like the case given that recent interview (after fanfest).

That said, for the next expansion and in general after the end of that story. . . I think they have a lot of house keeping they need to do. I'm not going to have a huge investment into the new story, doesn't mean I'll automatically dislike everything, that'd be silly, BUT just that there are a few things that were either implemented sketchy in the beginning or are just 'aged' now. I hope they are planning for this in advance, since many of these big systems would take a lot of that pre-planning and of course therefore have cataphoric results on the game if some key code failed ('try can't login for extended period of time due to unknown bug')... No one would want to be crunching deep system issues lol.

Everyone's got their preferences. If that's what you enjoy then good for you! I enjoy housing and glamour as well, but I do dabble in almost everything to varying degrees. Everything could stand to be improved in some ways, so hopefully they do make adjustments to all of these things in the future that are beneficial to everyone.

I just want to swing a giant frying pan, just like the one from the Heavensward's Hildibrand questline. You know the one. I want it.

I definitely play this game primarily for the MSQ. Sure I do my roulettes, EX trials, raids, and general MMO stuff. But, if the MSQ wasn't the quality it is I think I would have stopped playing MMOs entirely years ago now.

I posted a while back that I'd love to see jobs get an extra set at that middle stage where everyone else gets artifact gear and the new job gets nothing. I understand that they wouldn't make an extra set from scratch, but recoloured gear like the starter sets would still be good, especially if getting a design that isn't normally available to the job.

I WOULD like for a second set of Job-specific armor on an expansion's life-cycle. But I also acknowledge that this seems to be very difficult to do for the dev team. I wouldn't be opposed to an evolving set like the Eureka ones, either.

Dyeable sets help with that somewhat, but I understand the request. I wouldn't be opposed to a second set either or one that evolves over time. It just probably won't happen.

And that's completely ok! What keeps me playing every day are the friends I made in this game! I don't care about housing too much but glamour is definitely one of the better contents in this game for me. I do dungeons for glam, maps for glam, make gil for glam, and get excited for glam when a new one is announced. I'm like this with mounts as well! This game has enough varied content that each player can make the endgame be what they personally enjoy doing, and it's still good content for them! I don't raid, and don't feel any pressure to do so. I do a lot of stuff I enjoy in my endgame without having to care about it, and it's amazing really.

Glamour is the end game in many games. I wish devs built upon that with content that adds replayability. Ultimate is one form of that (hard content with unique skins) with weapons but it's the usual 8-man and time requirements.

Something similar to extreme mounts or low drop-rate minions in but with unique-looking armor. Given how many times we run the latest expert dungeons, I wish they'd have some form of rare unique armor in them for instance.

It would be amazing if the devs embraced glamour as an endgame activity and expanded the glamour dresser greatly, or made a "glamour log" system like wow, allowing us to have the glammable appearance of all the gear in the game we've had at some point, and allowing us to delete the original item! Right now, my glamour dresser is full, and I have retainers full of glam as well!

Gonna stick my head in to pray that the housing system never gets taken to MB-sellable deeds. I can already imagine all of the bots buying them up immediately and fully controlling the housing market even more than they do now. Prob will also shove a 100%+ price hike on it too just because they can with how desperate people are for housing.

I wouldn't really say that the Dark Knight Parade from the other day is necessarily a great indicator of how diverse DRK gear is since part of that parade was intended on some level to mimic a certain style or appearance. The attendees could have worn any gear at all available to the DRK job, including gear that isn't even tank restricted at all as long as a tank could wear it. Most wore DRK gear by choice.

That said, I certainly wouldn't object to a little more variety in job specific gear as many are pretty pigeon holed in their designs.

Hmm... this is an interesting point. I personally feel like the current system rewards bots even MORE, but there's no denying that housing deeds could get VERY expensive, very quickly...

On the other hand, right now it seems like the biggest problem people seem to run into, is just not being able to log-in and sit there trying to buy a house for hours, whereas giving players an option to just pay gil, to me, offers a lot more flexibility.

I mean, it's not like players are getting PAID to vacate their properties, only to leave them up for some random number of hours. The only time I've even HEARD of in-game trading is either A) being paid so someone can relocate to your plot, or B) "selling" your Free Company which owns a house. To me, the idea of a "Housing Deed" seems a far more preferable solution.

This is how you it used to be and people would just buy housing plots to have someone pay them to relinquish so they could take possession. It wouldn't allow newbies to get a house. Even veterans couldn't get a house. And prices were jacked up even for smalls, because they could.

The housing timer and restriction on how many houses you can have came about to try to curtail this reselling.

The only thing that is going to allow everyone who wants a house to get one is an instanced housing system.

Personally I'd rather see all job/role restrictions removed from gear with the exception of the artifact sets since those are supposed to represent looks iconic to the job. Right now there are a lot of items that would go great with glamours I want to create to use with a specific job but I can't because the item is locked to a different job or role.

Do I think jobs need a second unique set of glamour each expansion? No. One is plenty. Time spent creating a second set that's job specific is time not spent on glamour that could be worn by any character at any time of the player's choosing.

We end up so very limited in glamour options not because there's a lack of items but because we're limited by when we can wear those items (ie only when we're in specific jobs/classes). That means there's a lot of development time spent to serve tiny niches instead of serving the entire player base.
