[Suggestion] La-Hee: Soken Edition for Cancer

I will pay real cash money for La-Hee, Soken Edition. I would gladly pay even more if it went towards cancer research/a hospital of his choosing.

Long version:

Yesterday we saw a treasure of a man deliver the silliest thing. It brought me smiles all day.

Today, I saw Soken's heartfelt announcement and Yoshi-P's response to his cancer. I'm glad to see Soken is doing well, at least as far as we can see.

So... can we make this happen?

Edit: After making this thread I went through the "Thank You Soken!" and found a kindred spirit, so I want to give credit as their post is older than mine. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking this!

I would pay real cash for it anyway because that performance is amazingly hilarious. I have watched many videos that players put together with that track and they have all been glorious. Here is my favourite.

After hearing Soken's story about his health I really do feel it would be an excellent move to use that performance to fund cancer research and treatment. I feel there is nothing more suitable for this than using his goofy sense of humour coupled with his amazing music to fund something that has had a huge impact on his life.

I want an address that we can send letters to and encourage him and the rest of the dev team, something better than a generic address for SquEnix corporate! Can we make that happen!!!

Many people have suggested adding that performance in game via the mogstation with the proceeds of that item going to cancer research, I'm all for it.

Posting in support of this. I would love to see this happen.

With covid-19 still going on i say we should avoid having who knows how many people from all over the world send letter/cards to one person, just to safe.

I think asking for a version of the song for sale or otherwise is fine but tying it to some kind of charity donation is in really poor taste. If you want to donate to a worthy cause you should just do it without requiring anything in return.

I fully agree with you there, but this is how a lot of charity things work with gaming nowadays. Heck, I'd argue that it's a lot of charity events in general. WoW is constantly selling pets (minions) for charity. Supposedly most of the proceeds go to the charities, while Blizzard gets a cut and those donating get a little something as well. I guess from a company perspective it's a win/win/win. The good PR is also nice.

With how the mail is irradiated to keep things from getting through that shouldn't, there's no fear of that. At least stateside. I don't know if other countries do the same. For all the hell 9-11 put us through, that is one thing I won't nay-say them doing.
So SquEnix, can we get a mailing address specific to the team? Please?

I would buy this orchestrion in an instant. It was magnificent.

Soken is truly a treasure, and as somebody who lost family members to cancer and had other family member fighting it successfully, I'm really glad to see that he's back and that his prognosis seems to be good. Wishing all the best to him. He deserves all the love in the world and more, truly.

I get you, but if people were going to just straight up donate, they would already. This encourages people on the fence, and also does it in a way that the donations can be channeled directly via Soken so he can see how much support he has in a clear way. Even if there were no orchestrion or it was a “pay what you like”, I think it would be good.

Really any options to donate in Soken’s name in mass.
