Any one know what the drop rate for it is? I feel it should of been either a silver coin item or clusters for how low the chance is
It seems very low but I’m okay with low drop rates, it keeps it valuable.
They’re expecting a lot of players to run it 15 times at least, many will do more than that. You just need to wait a bit and it will settle at an affordable price.
I shouldn't have had to buy it after (so far) 56 RUNS! I STILL have not seen the hair, nor the mount, nor the barding drop. A party member in a DR I ran last night was telling me in 127 runs they saw it drop... ONCE! It's ridiculous! It really doesn't feel like they are expecting people to run it 15 times, rather they are expecting people to run it 255 times, and most should get a drop by then.
Honestly, it’s an MMO and it’s a cosmetic item. It’s fine if you personally never ever see it drop as long as someone does and it makes its way to the MB.
There’s such a sense of entitlement in the FF community. Early MMO’s had 0.001 percent drop rates on mounts and things, and getting it was special. 14 players want to run a raid no more than 3 times then make an angry thread if it doesn’t drop.
I've done it so many times, and I've never seen the mount, hair or barding. I got the orchestrion roll 3 times I think. It does seem extremely rare. I don't think the hair looks good or acceptable on males at all, and I'm a hrothgar right now, so I'd sell it... But I still want it. For the profit, you know?
I've been playing for over three years and I have 46 million gil on my main character; maybe 60 million including alts.
The hairstyle costs 12 million gil last time I checked on my server.
So yes, I can afford it, but that's a dauntingly large fraction of my total savings to have to pay for a hairstyle - and if that becomes the norm for price setting, I won't be able to buy much more.
Having chase items is nice, to be honest. Keeps me wanting to run it here and there for the opportunity at something to sell, and the vast majority of MMO games tend to have some chase items in loot tables.
If you can't live without it, just do maps/gather/craft and make the gil. Or run content and dump the prior tomes on some of the hot materials to sell for some more gil. But I feel like having low-chance drop cosmetics in content, that are valuable to sell, is overall a good thing in a MMO. Keeps a reward present within content to make re-running it more exciting.
But if they can't use hairstyles/cosmetics as sought-after or difficult to obtain rewards, idk what they could really. Except for things no one wants.
It is NOT exciting when it doesn't drop in 100 runs, and for that matter, the price is continually dropping. I'm sure it'll settle on something fairly high, but most definitely not worth the average time investment. A person would be better off making their gil elsewhere with these rates. Having sought after rewards is fine, but in regular content they should be a bit more obtainable.
People are running DR regardless of the drop rates, not for the drops, but rather, for their relic weapon. This content will be dead in just a little while, it's not sustainable.
I'm curious to know what. I believe the most expensive thing in Eureka was the shiver emote and that dropped in price as soon as SE made Eureka easer to solo. I got one for 3 million gil, which I would say is quite affordable compared to the 25-40 million it want for back in the day. It's still not THAT easy to get, but easier than the old days.
Speaking of that, there is actually the opposite happening with some Eureka stuff. Those glamor weapons that dropped in BA actually shot up in price from the old days where they were worth barely anything since so many dumped them on the board. Kind of wish I had had the foresight to pick some more up. But I did save the ones I got from my BA runs and put some up on the board.
As for the hair, I got one on my 14th artifact run of Reginae, so I was happy there. It is going for 10 million right now, but I will just store it and see what it is a year from now when Reginae is dead.
I've done 20 runs without the mount or hair to show for it at this point, so I'm wondering if they deliberately made the drop rates even worse then that of mounts from trials simply to compensate for the loot being personal drops as opposed to having to compete with others.
I got the mount at around 42 drops and I then got the hair at about 55th run.
Its a good job I like it as I do feel you should be able to try hairstyles before you buy or farm.
I like the raid so I don't mind putting in the effort though I am from FFXI so this is probably nothing lol.
It is a bit low though as If you get a bad group it can take a lot longer and people should use essence and actions more to make it go a bit faster.
The drop rate is very low as I have done about 5 more since I got the drop a few nights back.
Got the hair on second day, sold it for 20mil even I still wanted the hairstyle but thinking the price would drop. Took two weeks without seeing it drop again so I just bought it for 11mil.
What I find funny is the mount is a respectable amount usually (like 5-7 million) but the hair continues to stay around 10 million (cheapest atm is 10.5 mil on my server).
Not starting a angry thread was just asking on drop rate was all. I mean if we want to be technical hair isn't that valuable it it was a weapon, gear something like that yes I see it as valuable. I feel sorry for the person who designed it and doesn't get a freebee hair despite winning lol
Drop rate is 0% for me after 70 runs. No hair, no mount. But i don't mind. Both looks bad and i don't need gil.
The copycat minion still sells for millions too despite it being very easy to get.
Slightly different scenario though. Eureka stuff is expensive but isn’t run too much. I should imagine DR will have a longer lifespan due to the relic and it just being a lot easier to unlock than the later stages of eureka.
idk, Eureka can be largely soloed or low-manned especially by people who already have elemental gear and all the wheel upgrades, but DR needs 24 people and might not be undersizable. And Castrum will become a roadblock again for sure once the current fever dies down.
Can't complain about the drop rates if you can't even use the hair! Hahaha...ha...ha.....
Please Yoshi P, I just want all my hairstyles I spent hours, gil and MGP on, on my Viera T^T
Which was always an incredibly stupid design philosophy. There's a reason it has nearly died out completely. Low drop rates are fine, but they lose their effectiveness the more absurd they get. It also encourages people not to use Lost Actions/Essence because by their 30th run, they just don't give a damn any more.
A far better alternative is making it also available with silver coins. That way players know "okay, if I get x amount, I'll be able to buy it." Which is what they did with EX mounts.
I suspect it's because DR is literally the last major piece of content Shadowbringers has. And with 6-7 months before Endwalker. They need something to keep actively farming it.
It can but it’s not. And most people who do, do it for themselves. I started doing it recently with a small group and 4/5 of us got the copycat minion in a week of Pyros. Yet it’s selling on the market board for around 5 million. That elvaan minion is going for even more yet again doesn’t seem that rare, just not too many people go that far now.
As for DR, yes doesn’t look like it can be queued undersize, but I imagine with the weeklies, people levelling and discord groups, it’s going to be alive for some time.
Not only have I not been seeing any drops. I have once again used just about EVERY SINGLE one of my DPS essences - including my BEST ones. The runs are taking LONGER(!) than when I was out of essences and using NONE on my RDM.. I just got out of one that was AN HOUR - and this is becoming normal for my runs! I was using a Pure essence too..
The low drop rates combined with the potential length of DR, just don't work.
I mean they could make it cost like 30-50 gold coins
it still have its value but theres a alternative to get it
farm it out or do weekly till you get it
I dont see how adding a stable way that makes the reward not purely based on rng hurts the prestige.
An item can still be rare when locked behind a long but trackable grind.
Also it’s just my personal thought but i dont see any prestige in the hairstyle since...you know, it could just be some super lucky guy got carried through the fight...
There is nothing wrong with having low drop rates.Of course like has been mentioned that us older gamers are used to having really low drop rates and a lot of the newer generations moan in a lot of games if rng isnt in their favor or accuse drops rates of being scams etc.I see it the whole time in dota over chest openings over people complaining they open x amount and through their own imagination of how rng works they think they are entitled to the ultra rare item.
I prefer having lower drop rates. It honestly gets boring when you see everyone running around with the exact same cosmetics.
And it makes it more interesting when only some people have the item.It makes you appreciate the item more i feel.
Having you be able to trade silver coins isnt a solution.then its not rare.DR is incredibly easy to run and by this stage most can faceroll it already(even if they dont bring essences because others will carry them)
Its like with Eureka armor. It used to be rare. They nerfed it so hard that now nearly every tank has it as glam and has to make a post on reddit showing it off.
Damn that sucks. They going to nerf it at 5.5 after those nice "statistic" how successful bozja is! SE practice 10/10, how low they can go always amaze me.
also put tome rewards at the end of the raid please
40-60 minutes and cant even cap out spamming it smh
I have 54 DR clears, so far: No mount, no hair, no barding...
Ignore Vickii, they're one of the local forum trolls.
What baffles me is how people don't understand that adding items to a token system doesn't make them less rare than something you might get on your first run. If the hair and mount cost 999 silver coins or whatever it would be just as rare, if not rarer because it would still take over 50 runs and only the dedicated will get their hands on it. The only thing it does is add QoL so some unlucky person won't statistically get the short end of the stick and end up with nothing after 100 runs.
Rng is an old, outdated system. The people who like rng don't want rarity, they want to get lucky every so often and have a "rare" item without having had to work too hard for it.
