Please do not waste duels if you don't know what you're doing.

At the minimum, you should be bringing a few Reraise potions and Manawall. Optimally, you would have watched a guide before participating in the duel. If you go in without knowing what you're doing at all, you're wasting everyone's time and, worst of all, wasting the time of people who are serious about getting <Sword of the South>, who prepared the correct actions before even entering the pre-duel CE.

Wasting duels by going in without any Essence or Reraise might be fun for you but with duel participation being at such a premium, you're dragging down the entire instance.

This is why they need a 'reserves' system to Duels.
If the player KO's within the first 60s of the Duel, then it rerolls for any others who accepted, and could repeat a couple times so you've got 2-3 mins to 'trial' players.

If you really don't know what you're doing, you're not gonna last 60s.
That said, it's not going to prevent those who kinda know what they're doing, but don't bring the right actions.

Letting people learn is not griefing.
If they've qualified for the duel they have every right as anyone else to do so.

I'm there to have fun. I'm not going to study for a duel like I would preparing for high end content. I earned my rng chance the same as anyone else in there.

There are several possible fix for it.
The one I am thinking is selecting four people for this instead of one.
If the 1st player fails, the 2nd can go in and starts the fight from the beginning (Boss HP reset) and so on until there are no players left or the boss is defeated.

I know this is a troll thread for the purpose of baiting people into bans.

Idk, I think it's just the considerate thing to let someone who is more serious than you and has a better chance of success at it have a go, especially if you're still blind progging it after a month somehow.

Obviously I'm not saying people should be bickering and fighting over who gets to go in. And before I get quote replied by the entitled udontpaymysubbers who use this game to live out shonen protagonist fantasies, I'm just saying what the more considerate and nicer thing to do is, I'm sure you'll still be blind progging for many months come after many more attempts.

Not sure why there's competition over this in the first place. These could have been like the mage tower challenges from WoW in Legion. Instead I'm never going to touch these because I don't want to cheat someone else out of an opportunity to try.

At least you watched a video. I don't think people really mind challengers who understand the fights conceptually but just need practice (everyone has to practice at some point); the annoyance is more on the people who haven't watched any vids, clearly have no idea what they're doing dying in the first mechanic or two, or zoning in without Manawall/Dispel/etc and basically robbing the chance for someone who's actually prepared themselves to take a shot.

The amount of times I've seen someone zone into gabriel without even an essence on or get destroyed by the first extreme caution and then ask 'what was I supposed to do' is just depressing, to the point I wish the game would just automatically disqualify anyone who doesn't have manawall & an essence active when the preceeding CE completes regardless if they no-hit or not just to wipe out anyone who's not serious from wasting it.

After one month of guides and YouTube clear videos we should definitely expect that literally no one knows how the mechanics work yet. You make so much sense.

The same way someone wanting to try savage 2 months after its released knows how the fights work: there's a whole ton of guides out there on the duels and what's mandatory. That way if someone manages to get in, they aren't wasting their time by dying instantly to each mechanic that requires manawall (assuming they even got that far) or in Lyon's case, dying to his enhanced damage buff 10s in because they didn't bring dispel. Even beyond that, a simple shout 'which lost actions are mandatory for -x-' would likely get a person answers without having to expend even the slightest bit of energy manually looking it up.

Duel's aren't fights people just stroll in and win going absolute blind. It's wasting the time of people who are actually prepared and serious to beat the fights, along with their own time & mettle to not do the absolute most basic preparation and read up on what's mandatory.

The true challenge is besting those fights without looking for your handheld the entire way through. Maybe some people find this type of challenge to be fun?

You should be lucky then that I refuse to touch Bosnian front, because else I'd Leroy Jenkins every duel I'd get, just because.
