Darklight DoM gear

This gear is far from being the best. The only thing this gear does is boost enfeeble skills with it's high piety and enhancing/enfeeble skills.

But the enfeebles have just been gimped. The more you use it, the more resistant the mob becomes, so what good is enfeeble skill now?

Darklight gloves are +80 mp, +10 vit, -10 eva, +15 enhancement magic potency

Darklight breeches +100 mp, +10 pie, -10 eva, +5 enhancement magic potency, +5 enfeebling magic potency

DarkLight boots +80 mp, +20 pie, -10 eva, -30 enmity

Darklight Cowl +15 Int/Piety, +15 Enfeeble skill, 120 Mp, and Refresh +3

One hat with Intelligence IV materia in it, and a regular robe with 1 Piety IV Materia could beat that.

For the effort I see people putting into this, the lower drop rate doesn't warrant this for disciple of magic gear. It should be redone with Magic attack, and Magic accuracy, Int, and Mp for Blm/thm. And Another set for Whm/cjn with Mag Acc, Healing Potency, and Mnd and MP.

You mean to say, it's not incredibly powerful for BLM. It is for WHM.... and some pieces are pretty nice for BRD, too.

It's good for the buffs, not the enfeeble.

They have two sets of darklight for disciples of war, and only one for DoM which is primarily healer based. And even then it's not that great for healers. A little bit of extra mp and a probable minuscule buff to enhancing magic skills.

ya but dont forget tht a dev also said that Dropped dungeon gear will never be as good as crafted gear so whats the point of that armor.

the game is focusing on balance not being OP from equip they just want you to have a small boost.

dungeon gear will have better base stats but you cant upgrade, crafted gear will be the one you can enhance to a higher spec.

dont think there working to make this another equipment dependent game like almost all other mmo's.

Yeah..its not that impressive honestly. And usually they out do gear each patch anyway...DL for mage as far as I'm concerned is inventory -1 lol

Enfeeble skill is more accurate and better added effects from Flare/Aero/Stone/Blizzara. If more testing gets done with Flare maybe the DoT increase is worth it. Not sure if there has been any done yet.

Hands are around 10-12 HP/tic more on Regen which is amazing, too.

DL gloves and breeches are amazing for WHM. DL boots are amazing for BRD. BLMs got shafted with itemization though, so hopefully that turns around with the next set of gear. As mentioned already, two DoMs, one set of gear -- there was never going to be a chance that the set would be good for both BLM and WHM.

BLM has in fact been shafted. lol

To me it seems like its designed as an MP set for blm, with all the raw mp + pie + refresh - while also adding a few things for brd/whm. A lot of people complain about MP issues on blm (or used to) so I think this is probably a solution.

Why give up all you Mag acc, magic potency, and crit, and Int for a few more MP that will hardly make a difference?

Well, when you get a piece of darklight, be sure to pass it to someone else, since it's clearly of no use to you. I'm sure there are many others who don't feel the same as you do.

Arguments can be made for the dl boots for blm but not so much the rest of the set. But it's not that big of a deal to me to be honest.

Yeah that's the problem. The drop rate that people are upset about. It's very low for this mediocre gear. Other the drop rate needs to be improved, or the stats.

If it did drop to me I would give it to someone else in a heartbeat. I hate getting weapons like Morbid Balde or Ifrit's blade and I can't give it to someone who will actually use it.

Not every set of gear has to have the same stat set up, this set of gear is obviously more of an enfeebling/mp set - you dont have to use it if you dont want to.

Personally I want the boots for blm, the emnity- down is a lot more useful to me than af or any melds. 1/4 pieces being useful I'm fine with, because chances are the next set of DoM gear will be useless for whm.

I do agree that the cowl is pretty much useless though.

Gotta agree, the mage sets are underwhelming, if war and pld both get a tank and DD set, why cant mages get a offensive and defensive set?

-3% enmity is why you want those boots? Seems pretty useless to me.

whats the point of getting the gear anyway? theres nothing hard to fight in the game, everything can be killed with just the af gear on. wait a couple patches and the gear will be obsolete. stupid game is stupid.

So -30 enmity would only be 3% if you did 1000 damage.

+/-Enmity is not the same thing as the enmity measurements that we use. +/-Enmity as a statistic affects net enmity by the aforementioned factor of 1 point of +/-enmity = 0.1% measured enmity.

I was surprised MP and Lifethirst weren't buffed as materia for next patch. +30 was okay when we had 1000 max. Now we have 3000+. We need MP+100 materia and dungeon gear with MP+400, otherwise it's all useless.

the - enmity doesnt even matter. You or should have Chameleon and freeze that alon should take care or any hate you have if you pull hate with blm your doing it wrong.

Everyone's enmity stat is zero... so with the enmity measurement we've all come to accept, if you do 1000 damage, you just gained 1000 enmity

But if you have +100 Enmity stat on your gear, then you gain 100 x .1% = 10%
Which means doing 1000 damage will get you 1000 x 110% = 1100 enmity
Or if Provoke normally pulls 400 enmity, with the +100 Enmity, Provoke will pull 400 x 110% = 440 enmity

minus (-) enmity works the same way
A mage that does 1000 damage with -100 enmity on their gear would get 1000 x 90% = 900 Enmity....

In large quantities it could be very useful, especially when you think about situations in which enmity bottlenecks damage

doesn't change the fact that the BLM got shafted with DL, hopefully BLM gets some dungeon gear down the line preferably before 2.0
