Not sure if its a bug or not but i was just chilling on one of the aetheryte camp someone had aggro on an add, they passed right through me, when the person with aggro is far enough the adds would unaggro and if it pass by someone it will aggro that person it passes by. Its weird that you're afk then come back and find yourself dead lul. lucky for me i was a tank soo my hp was at around 30%.

Edited: Soo this was a bug and its been fixed XDDDD.. Thankfully

Its not, it where the pathing breaks but instead of immune they aggro on any player nearby. The camps should be safe, especially the starting one.

Yeah, they don't go into "immune mode" when returning to position like in the field and you can get caught out by it. I got splatted by a rank 3 enemy the other day that came out of a campsite towards me. It must have chased after someone else to end up there.

I honestly don't get why they decided to retain the obnoxiously long tether ranges on enemies in Bozja as it was one of the things about Eureka that was rather widely hated, not to mention mobs can now be "trained" onto other players while trying to return to their spawn points, as they can/will aggro instead of ignoring you like in normal zones.

Yes, it makes things "riskier" but there's already enough threat of dying without things chasing you halfway across the zone.

It doesn't help that some of the star mobs that can potentially one-shot people are right near some of the aetherytes, too (The ones at the middle level in particular).

They sure did, which was a massive problem. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, and felt like I went back in time about 15-ish years in mmos. Players dying while accessing their lost actions IS a thing.

I wonder if this is an issue I never really noticed in Eureka because mobs would leave you alone after a while based on your level. I really miss that. Having to worry about getting aggro everywhere is kinda lame.

Its a warzone.

However, once you learn that mobs can chase you for a long distance or that a rank 5 or 1 star can send you into the next life packing really quick, you learn to navigate around them. I too wasn't paying attention and met my ultimate demise by getting one shotted. Personally I don't find it as bad as a lot of people make it to be.

Don't know how many times either I have tried to kill Smok with Lost Death, missed, and ran to try again, but only for him to aggro on someone afterwards (oops). Or it happening to me (karma I guess lol)

I've yet to run into anyone griefing in safe zones. It's annoying that they don't deagro, but it's not the end of the world. Just gotta either kill them or run a bit further.

Though it would be nice if running into camp did break agro, not gonna disagree there.

They're not really 'safe zones' to begin with. That only applies to the initial entrance to the zone.

The mobs being strong and chasing you forever isn't the problem. The problem is that unlike in the rest of the game, when a mob stops chasing you (or you die) it doesn't just go invincible and run back to its spawn point. Instead it aggros anyone else who's nearby and attacks them too. This can lead to people getting killed while just standing in the base minding their own business.

Not only can they be killed but also missing the next fate or at least be hindered by it. I was in the camp trying to get to another zone and because someone lost the monster right next to me I was forced to kill it, losing quite a bit of time while the one being chased was teleporting away...

And it being a war zone rings hollow since if that is the case why even have zones at all? Just put all the NPCs right in the middle of high level monsters, its war after all.

I was talking to one of the Ironworks people in the initial zone to progress the quest line when a mob someone had dragged into the camp attacked me and interrupted the dialogue, forcing me to fight the thing and then restart the conversation with the quest NPC.

So no, not even the opening zone is truly safe, at least not if you are speaking to one of the NPC's near the exit/entrance to the camp.

I was not amused by that incident.

Even in war zones theres rear guards. I dunno why the starting camp at least doesnt have some guard npcs. You don't want your non combat troops attacked or high ranking troops to be ambushed or your staging areas/supplies picked apart.

And even there they had these things called NPC guards in most places that could kill stuff that came near. The Bozja folks never heard of this concept or something?

We have this here too. the entrances to cities usually have guards. North shroud springs to mind specificly. Why not do it in bozja is a mystery to me. Its not like there is anything big near the starting area.

I had that happen to me once while opening lockboxes. Someone dragged one of those early enemies into town. A Nimrod? Or a Nephyts? I can't remember.

As of right now, there are a few actions and an essence that you can use to alleviate the problem like swift, stealth, and essence of the breather. Anyway, and while I personally like the way agro work here since makes crazy AoE farming a thing, I understand that can be very obnoxious so adding a new essence that makes enemies ignore you unless you attack them first should be a happy solution for everyone.
