I love Bozja, but the way Castrum (queing) works is painful.

I don't really know if the devs read the english forums, and I imagine plenty of people are echoing the sentiment, but we just got screwed out of a Castrum because a different CE popped up 10 seconds before it did, and i'm hella upset over it.

Now yeah those people could have used the Return trick, or withdrew their signup, but they shouldn't HAVE to....Like, have it display a constant timer on it or something so that people can be ready for it, or just make it not Pop while other CE's are up, it just feels AWFUL at the moment.

Or hell, allow queuing for it as it's own thing, then it could draw from pools over multiple Bozja instances

There's an approximate timer for Castrum. Best thing to do is not do any critical engagements when the time gets close. I usually join a castrum prep group and we'll do skirmishes/VEs for a while, but once we get to about the 10-15 min mark, we stop with the CEs.

It's still leagues better than BA queuing was.

They probably don't want to have it be a DF thing because the people would stop doing Bozja altogether and would just sit in queue.

Actually I'll agree with you here. I think they should have added another notice about like maybe a few minutes before it pops, something like "The resistance is getting ready to storm the Castrum" or something, so you know to be prepared when it happens, maybe gather Lost Actions you want.

An announcement saying the assault is almost ready to launch(5min warning) would be nice....so many castrum runs end right away due to other people being in other CE

Probably the quickest, simplest fix would be to increase the registration timer to 10 minutes. It would both allow people to finish their critical engagements, and also give more time to recruit additional rank 10+ players as they enter Bozja.

This. It's not hard to keep track of Castrum, so just stop a few minutes before and get ready for it if you want to come along.

It doesn't even need to be registration, it could just be an alert that pops 10 and 5 minutes before to warn you.

I have zero issue with how Castrum works now. If you're there for Castrum, than you'll know beforehand to avoid CE anyway.

At the very least there should be an official 10 minute warning to castrum.

Though I guess I dunno if that would help anything. People give unofficial warnings in shout chat and you still get instances where 20+ R10s enter a CE right before castrum pops

This would be the best way to go about it. People get into a CE, suddenly Castrum queue pops. They have enough time to fail/succeed in the CE, and can queue up for Castrum. As it is right now, nobody wants to do CEs near the Castrum opening because it's a trap, you're not going to get into Castrum if you enter that CE. And it's not a sure fire thing, but 90% of the time (over 14 attempts to get into Castrum the past 2 days), entering that CE = no Castrum, and depending on how many entered the CE, Castrum has to be aborted because not enough people even joined for it. It's not even like we haven't gotten a 10 minute warning for something like this before either, because in Eureka Hydatos the weather itself changes as a warning that "Baldesian Arsenal pre-event has popped." Just having a warning or a specific FATE pop beforehand would be a nice way to let us know it's coming.

One option is to make it like ocean fishing: castrum always happen at certain server hours. Another could be give it a progress bar to the instance and all the stuff players do in Bozja increases it. Once at 100% it's open and your chances to get in are based on your overall contribution.

Honestly I had thought Bozja was going to be semi pvp or at the very least a string of fates like done in Guildwars 2.

As in:
Step 1, resistance has the base camp, and is pushing back (do skirmishes) or delivering supplies to outposts.
Step 2, outpost telecoms talks and camps are online, ready to go. Objective is to protect outposts and build supply or whatever to be in staging position to attack castrum. Something like setting up artillery or disabling an enemy launch point.
Step 3, counter attack, ultimately leading to castrum raid.

This is how it works in GW, and if steps fail, progress falls back a step. In addition enemy forces work to do basically the same thing to take back territory, so it’s always give and take.

Looks like recruitment time will be changed from 1 minute to 6 minutes in an upcoming hot patch, per the japanese forums here. woowoo

The absolute worst thing about this whole system is that you have no way of telling how "old" an instance is, because if it locks, then Castrum will no longer spawn.

I spent the better part of the day trying to get into Castrum only for all three of instances I was in to just lock before it could pop again.

There was a response about this in the japanese forums, after some google translate it seems they're gonna increase the queue time for Castrum to 6 mins in a hotfix.

You can usually take a good guess on the basis of the timers at the "Adventurer List". Same as in Eureka. If there are people with only 60 minutes left, it's probably not that new.

As a temporary measure, we will be changing the recruitment time from 1 minute to 6 minutes through a hotfix in the near future while we work on a more fundamental, long-term solution.

We have also been carefully reviewing your wider opinions on the Bozjan Southern Front, so your continued feedback is much appreciated!

Thank you so much for the change! That hotfix will make it a lot easier for people to get into Castrum without worrying about ill timing on the CEs!

While the fix is nice, please just let is alliance queue in the future for these kind of things and make a way to force a pop. Nobody likes afking around in a zone waiting for the dungeon to pop, or spending time trying to sync queues to play with friends.

This sort of thing could be duty finder content if they put one of those lost actions chests at the start of the dungeon so you can equip any stuff you need without having to pass through the open field bozja first. Like you would still need to do the field story to unlock the dungeon but after that it's DF-able (if technically possible). Kind of surprised that they are treating this as an urgent issue when Baldesion Arsenal was much harder to into, even just getting premade groups into the same instance, then other issues like solo people entering BA and afking to prevent a new Ovni and BA from spawning for a while in that instance iirc.

I think it's a bigger issue than BA because there is a quest that is tied to completion of the castrum and you likely won't be able to progress into the next Bozjan area without completing it. The only thing you miss out on by not completing BA is, effectively glam items and a mount.

Thank you for addressing this with a hotfix and looking into this further.

I think people haven't noticed that the issue about missing the queue isn't so much that it fills up fast, but it becomes a wasted instance because the players are caught in other engagements and I've seen it happen quite a few times a Castrum is abandoned due to the lack of players filling it up. Given that it's an dungeon type instance, It makes sense that the development team wouldn't want that type of content abandoned/going to waste due to lack of recruitment into the instance.

Do you have an ETA on the hotfix?

I'm hoping they addressed the queues for the solo fights somehow, as well.

You should not have to spend several days on average trying to get into a fight where a single mistake can kill you.
