Will they be better than the 500 upgraded allegory weapons?

For sure they won't be better than the endgame weapons so 505 (?). 495 i bet but they will be for sure not better, the relics where never better until the very end in all previous expansions.
Assuming they stick to pattern they're going to be 495 with five materia slots and likely slightly better then the current EX trial weapons.
Should be 500 if we are following the Eureka relic pattern.
I'd assume 500 so that it's better than tomes weapons that people have been farming for ever but not Eden weapons of this tier.
495 with 5 slots.
Im personally hoping for i500, but Im expecting i495.
i500 2 slots since i500 with 5 slots would most likely make it better than edens depending on substats of course
Eureka went 355 to 370 from Anemos to Pagos, so I assume we'll be going 485 to 500.
probably would depend on substats since all this tier weapons are min maxed essentially besides from healers would be hard but 3 extra melds to Direct hit could be handy for tanks
considering the idealized helmet for PLD a i480 helmet is just as strong as the i500 tank helmets you can see how much extra melds can make a difference.
Weapon damage tends to be king. I'd imagine a 500 relic might be BiS for healers, since the huge chunk of Piety on the Eden weapon is essentially 0 stat, but other classes will lean to the +5ilv.
If the relic is equal to or even better than Eden, I see no issue with it. We'll only be getting half a patch at best to enjoy the relic before the next tier is released and pushes it back to glamour status for the time being.
Pretty much.
ilvl is king for most all jobs, from a design PoV people have had like over half a year to get the tome weapons that can now be upgraded to ilvl500 without savage fights. Tomes prob hella close to being unlocked so people can just grind out the 1000 needed for a weapon in no time. An ex fight can drop ilvl495 cause it's an easy path to getting an upgrade or "starter weapon" for raids if you haven't been farming savage til recently.
A 5 slot ilvl500 relic would make it the 2nd best weapon compared to the eden weapons for a few weeks before the next tier of savage raids and tome weapons and so on start the gear treadmill all over again.
Plus, where we are now is basically Anemos if we compare it to last expac. From the end of Anemos to the end of Pagos your weapon goes up 15 ilvls, not 10.
Some sets for AST and SCH already use the Augmented Crystarium weapon simply because the 505 ones have godawful substats, so adding 3 more meld slots can most certainly make them BiS depending on the substats.
Now you could argue that weapon damage isn't quite as important on healers than on any other job but that remains to be seen.
Either 495 or 500 at best.
The real question is: will they be shiny?
There was a datamined thread on Reddit a few weeks ago with an imgur link to all of the Bozjan weapon upgrades, all with with their own glow. You could probably still find it on r/ffxiv.
EDIT: found the link https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...eapons_bozjan/
I'm curious about the armor we get in there as well, I hope they put armor in like they did in eureka.
I just wish 5.35 would get here already, I'm super hyped for this content.
I suspect they'll be 495
Tomes never get unlocked prior to the final patch of the expansion. Allegory will stay 450 until 5.4 drops then replace Phantasmagoria.
As for the relic ilvl. I'm suspecting i500. If I recall, Pagos patched the tome weapon (i370?) when it dropped. It'll sit as the second best weapon as it's very unlikely even with five melds, it'll beat Shiva. At least on non-healers.
I just hope that the Front will be more fun then eureka.
And for those that opt out of it, I hope the alternative isn't TOO bad to make up for it. I like that we are given 2 ways to do this, I just pray we arn't essentially 'punished' for doing one way over the other
I'm just worried that the alternative will play out like: "You don't want to do 100 FATEs in Bozja? Fine, do 500 FATEs in the overworld."
The operative word there isn't "500", it's "FATEs"
1, because glam.
