"Attacks by the Coincounter in Aurum Vale will now have action indicators."
Well, I be damned, telegraphs for mister multikill himself.

I don't know why, but the fact that they added this four plus years after the fact made me laugh.
Edit: Arrius beat me too it. XD
I'm actually really excited about this. lolQuote:
The Movies menu has been changed to the Movies & Title menu.
Players can now select an expansion title screen in addition to an expansion opening movie.
Also the search function for the orchestrion.
Aurum Vale ruined.
May as well add indicators for every telegraphed fight at this point.
So was I until I read the bit below
such a quick turn to disappointment.Quote:
* Upon relogging, the title screen will return to the default screen corresponding to the product license associated with your account.
I sure hope this means several new items and isn't just referring to maybe one new thing and a bunch of old stuff being swapped around likeQuote:
New items available in exchange for achievement certificates have been added.
Quote:
The Flyer Shaffron barding awarded for completion of this quest can now be obtained in exchange for Achievement Certificates
Lots of quality of life changes, as expected.
I guess the title screen display might be set by something deep-seated that they can momentarily trick but can't permanently overwrite? There doesn't seem any reason to deliberately make it temporary.
I hope it at least sticks when switching between characters without exiting to the launcher.
Well, i assume from the patch notes, that all other cyclops type enemies are not affected. So, in essence this change accomplishes nothing really.
P.S. My evil little black lala heart has to get kicks somewhere. Sometimes that just happens to be sprouts getting one shot by Swing.
I hope the serious fox becomes a minion down the line.
It would be a disappointment for the most majestic of foxes to just be a NPC.
Re: Coin Counter
It is what it is, but I think it would have been a cool mechanic to have him start with indicators, have a text box where he reconsiders his target, then another that essentially says “to he## with your indicators! Eat this!” <show indicator shatter as his cast bar continues to fill>
It teaches those that want to learn from it how to handle a Cyclops if this is the first time they see one, people who don't want to learn won't learn telegraph or no.
Just for the record though, I agree that it accomplishes very little as there's not enough Cyclopes or un-telegraphed attacks for this to be a teaching moment. But it's AV, no one really likes running it anyway (if there's an avid AV lover out there though, I support you.) so "getting up in arms" about this feels a bit strange. They could remove the whole dungeon and no one (save for that lone AV lover, I know you're out there) would bat an eye.
That could be cool. Get the nier raid team on it to make it happen. Custom "indicator shatters!" animation and meta commentary. lol
I'm glad they're adding indicators personally. I've run that thing a lot and still can't remember the attacks with 100% accuracy. Yet I can remember the name and backstory of the most inconsequential NPCs. Its just how my brain works.
Like, it doesn't really matter. Its just a single boss in one dungeon. And they still have the mechanics in other instances. But I'm not complaining they've added it. B/c ~50% of the time I get hit by him, so I also kinda hate that boss. lol
Thing is, is that as of this current moment running AV with a composition of BLU's is legitimately the fastest way to get Moogle Tomes in the entire game. It takes 3-5 minutes total with a complete BLU party and can net you the entire bevy of items in under a few hours. Even if you don't have any BLU to run it with, it's still one of the faster dungeons available for that purpose and this goes doubly so when the tower climb isn't available to earn Tomes from.
I'd bet you a good deal of money that this change was made because enough people complained about not understanding Coincutter's mechanics whilst doing said grind. Particularly players who skipped the ARR Fate train experience and thus never got to face off with a few of the other early game Cyclops enemies this game has to offer. The change is so odd, so late, and yet so specific that I can't imagine there wasn't a deluge of complaints behind it.
Is the flag check for Crystal Tower going to happen all the way back to 2.55?
A Time to Every Purpose (which is in 2.55 after Steps of Faith and before the banquet)
Before:
Complete the main scenario quests "Ancient Ways, Timeless Wants" and "The Least among Us."
After:
Complete the main scenario quests "Ancient Ways, Timeless Wants" and "The Least among Us."
Complete the Chronicles of a New Era quest "The Light of Hope."
For new players coming through, it makes a lot more sense to force completion of CT at the point in the story when it's supposed to happen, i.e. shortly after the events at the Praetorium with Nero "newly unemployed" and still sore from his defeat there, and prior to his reappearance in post-Heavensward.
For anyone already past that point, there'll also have to be a second gate prior to 5.3 that no new player is going to hit.
No New Haircut ? sad noise
I knew it was coming but I still hate the mandatory CT completion.
On my alts I never unlock it so that I dont get sucked into it for every alliance roulette. Now that isn't an option.
They need to address the ilvl cheese thing even more now.
Pudding Flesh can now be bought with GC seals, for the same price as a venture which could be used for up to 10 Pudding Flesh with a battle retainer.
And why would this be a bad thing? People learn at different rates and aoe markers do nothing but make the game more accessible.
The whole "It was hard in my time / it was hard for me so it HAS to be hard for everyone else" is nothing more than gatekeeping and it needs to end.
Which takes one hour and is limited by how many battle retaines you have while you're drowning in GC seals if you do a dungeon every now and then.
I'm already drowning in Ventures, Grad 7 Materia, Cordials and other knickknacks, selling GC seal stuff regulary and still constantly at cap. It's nice to be able to buy at least one high level ingredient via GC seals.
Prel. 5.3 patch notes:
"The items required to enhance equipment purchased with Allagan tomestones of allegory, Crystalline Glaze and Crystalline Twine, can be purchased from Xylle in the Crystarium (X:9.4 Y:9.5) with Sacks of Nuts(...)"
Behold inc 250ish players mega Hunt train. It'll be like Saruman crying by the size of the army.
Looks like they are trying to salvage Rival Wings. Speeding it up is a good start.
Not sure about 45 sec hold time for PvP... People are still shuffling the jobs for a bit. Maybe 60 sec? Either way, I appreciate them trying to speed PvP up.

*proceeds to get hyped beyond hype as I've boosted several jobs and missed job quests*
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...07/unknown.png
Wait what?! Only base game classes? Not even their job quests? Not any of the added jobs?
Why though?!
Godsdammit, I was so close... T-T
I wish they'd include an option to do just instanced battles and not have to run the entire quest line to do them. The role quests are an interesting addition and I hope they expand that more.
I suspect this is just the start and they'll add more with upcoming patches.
The invulnerability we get from raising now has a visible buff applied to us called Transcendent.
Aw... looks like they’re not gender-unlocking anything this time around. Ah well... maybe 5.4, maybe 2021.
