I think SE "forbid it" to cover their own behind. So that they cannot be held responsible if something goes very sour as a result of players sharing such information in their game. Going back to the pc parts shop example, a player who used the game to buy those parts cannot get help from SE if it turns out to be a scam, because what they were doing was against the game rules in the first place. -

Most places will have some line disallowing sharing of "personal information" somewhere in TOS. Technically against the rules, but largely just a bit of ass coverage.
Hell, look at all the PF listings directing players to discord. Same principle.
Just comes down to "we can't moderate what happens out of game, so if you break the rules, that's all on you." -

They aren't actually going to go after you for it, and they don't mind it unofficially, but to cover themselves if something goes wrong their official stance will always be that it's not allowed. However unless the person is sending links to phishing sites or something trule egregious you'll never hear about them getting banned for it.Quote:
