Can we please have a "kick" option during trials?

I'm sick of people going immediately afk or jumping off the map during trials like the Limitless Blue right after combat started so the others do the trial for them and can't be kicked out.
I know SE tries to avoid the toxicity and all, but being too soft also gives room for other sort of problems.

If you know they're doing it on purpose, you can try to report them. I'm sure that qualifies as griefing. You can kick in trials but only when you're not in combat, I believe. Naturally so people can't grief that way and kick someone 2 seconds before it ends.

So you can kick. I believe the rules are the same as for dungeons or raids. The instance must be at least 5 minutes old, and you cant be in combat. You also cant be rolling on loot, but in a trial that would mean you already won. That means typically the group needs to wipe once(or twice if theyre faster wipes) before they can kick the offender out. But if youre wiping then the extra help might be needed, so kick away.

People would just abuse that and kick other players right before the trial ends so they helped through the fight and gained nothing at the end.
Thats the downside i am seeing from your proposal. And what has already been said you can try to report them if they do it on purpose.

This is exactly what the current restrictions are supposed to protect us from, but it has the side effect of making it often difficult to kick someone who legitimately needs to be kicked.

What we really need is to be able to initiate a vote kick at any time and cast a vote at any time, regardless of combat or loot status, but have the kick not take effect until after combat ends and loot has been distributed. That way, if someone is being belligerent and preventing kicks by rushing into combat before everyone's ready or opening coffers before people can vote them out, we can still vote them out and have it take effect after the current combat. (As a side effect, to prevent people from being kicked after victory but before coffers are opened, this would require that coffers open immediately on pop instead of waiting for someone to click them).

That way, the party would always be able to vote to remove someone who needs to be removed, but they could never abuse such a vote to prevent someone from getting completion credit or loot for a battle they participated in.

I could definitely get behind that. Having the problematic person set to be kicked if the party wipes could scare them into smartening up and doing it properly, or you wipe again but at least they're gone.

I have literally never once seen this happen in the thousands of hours I have in this game.

I have been playing since 1.0 and I have never observed this behavior either. If someone is actually doing this a report will get them a warning or banned. Problem solved.

In a similarly embarrassing amount of time I think I've seen it like twice on titan, a couple times on Ravana once the walls go down? But some if those could have been incompetence.

I dunno, it doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Refusal to participate reports are actually valid so if it happens people just need to speak up.

I'm wondering if it's a data centre thing...I don't think I've ever seen it(aside from someone in a pre-made doing it to test if invisible walls are there) on Aether.

But I like that idea of being able to cast the vote during combat/while loot is to be rolled on, that way they can be removed if they are trying to prevent it due to instant pulls and constant loot timers.

Games have already had this- and it always ends the same way. People contribute for the entire thing, and then right before it ends they get booted with a few seconds left so they get no loot.

That's basically the choice here- either we get AFKers, or we get players who are participating being kicked right at the end- think about which is more of an effect on people. In one case you get an annoyed group that had to carry someone, if they do wipe the benefit is they can kick then, but either way it's annoying. But how much do you think people who actually are trying and get kicked right at the end are going to be pissed off? When the choice is to either provide a good experience for legitimate players or to punish toxic players I'd rather do both of course, but I'd always pick the legitimate players' over the toxic when it has to be a choice, and unfortunately this is a choice.

I remember when relics were a big thing on the book and dungeon phases. I was on my very last trial for my weapon, told my party-- and they kicked me at the final boss before the pull. So I know this is definitely something that griefing to this degree can and will do as well. I hated those books too lol.

I've never seen it in a trial before (or at least noticed it), but it does happen in msq roulette.

I get Titan in trial roulette at least 3-4 times a week. Seen plenty of people get yeeted off by not paying attention, but anyone that looked like they were doing it intentionally? Not a one.

Yeah, that and alliance raids are the two big ones in my experience.

Can't say I've seen this either, but then, I only run trials that are required by the MSQ, and never again after that.

And again another "the system needs to be changed cuz i had a bad experience" thread. It's a great idea, kicking people at every point. Especially seconds before the kill so you can get all that sweet loot. Especially with the new difficulty for old trials coming up the best idea i heard so far. It's not like 99% of all trials etc. go smooth with no problems. And it's not like that in most cases if someone is clearly afk etc. you can kick them. Or if they troll you can report them. No it needs to be changed so people can troll more but in other ways, nice idea. 10/10

I've seen this happen in limitless blue a handful of times at least and have seen ppl purposefully run off on titan many many times since arr released. So it happens. Either you have been really lucky or you just didn't notice and thought it was accidental.

wait you want to be able to kick during combat. No. If they are griefing, kick out of combat and report them.
