Listen. I just want a hairstyle like Eynzahr Slafyrsyn without the weird ear mustaches on each side. Or just more short hairstyle options

Honestly I have to agree with you... This hair style looks fine if you take the mutton chop facial feature but by itself...

I would also like more short hairstyles. And not 'shaggy mop' short, either. There's like three genuinely short styles that aren't just combed/styled medium length hair, and most of them don't look very good on any of the races.

A year later, some hairstyles for Viera finally please and thank you.

I think we still need a lot more hairstyles in general as well to be added. Male and female styles.

More actual racial styles would be nice too. A lot of the starting Au Ra hair is cool because sometimes they have horns or even look like they connect to parts of the face scales, but the hair itself isn't actually that good.

I'd also like to see more short hairstyles added to the game.

I swear every fem roe picks the same hairstyle because it's the best looking one. Options are cool, but it's not cool when you have options and all of them suck.

I'd like a style like OP's with 2 options. Bald at the sides and shaven. The latter being like that one undercut with the braids on the side. Except without the braids.

I find it opposite, for me there is way too many short hairstyles and not enough long ones with bangs :D. There is like 2-3 hairstyles i can use as an AuRa female

Miqo'te's old racial hair styles are mostly bob cuts and a few with bangs, All the longer styles are ones shared with other races. We really could do with more longer styles, but I feel Viera need at least access to something beyond the tiny amount they have now.

yes please add more hairstyles! cool, good looking ones, short, wavy, etc!

There are some old hairstyles that if they revamp the texture would be awesome.

The problem with the short hairstyles we do have is they're really bland & kinda bad. They're bad because they're either mullets or anime-mop cuts & all lack creativity. Even the long hairstyles are 'meh'.
NPC's get the best of either short hairs or long hairs & we get stuck with a karen manager haircut so it makes what is available look even worse.

Viera hands down have the best hairstyles. Even their short hair as ugly as it is, is better than what is available to the other races. If Viera were given Frans giant ponytail or Mjrn's dainty chin-length bob cut, I'd swap to Viera.

The dancer hairstyle is even really bland. I'd have loved if there had been a bangs variant but with the way it was designed just reminds me of someone who has no idea what to do with their hair. Alot of what we have just leaves more to be desired if I were honest. Even though it may not seem it, I do appreciate what we have gotten, but there is alot of room for growth in the future.

I'd like to see Hairstyles inspired from other Final Fantasy games as well.
BlessOnline, the train-wreck it was; their CC was actually really decent & just seemed like something FFXIV's CC should have been more like. Alot of the Bless hairstyles were done really well, from elaborate braids to full, evenly positioned tied-back warrior buns. They even had a decent ponytail that looked better than what Hien has.
Even Our Modern Aesthetic hairstyles are just 'meh' - Especially when you look at Gaia's hair or Hilda's, Lyse, Zenos, Emet-Selch hairs, Even Cid's Beard- Atleast we got Aymeric's hair.

But if there are any other hairstyle design contests, I've wanted to enter & create a short & long hairstyle which can look elaborate & doesn't have to look like that edgy-anime boy look we've gotten 10 other times.
I've even considered resorting to using mods for FFXIV in the past just to have a more fulfilling character with hairstyles that we'll likely never see in FFXIV- because most modded hairstyles actually look good compared to what's available in-game.
If there wasn't a dark-side to the modding community that had made it all look bad, I'd have originally encouraged the designers to take inspiration from the modders who create such amazing hairstyles. I've come to realize: I know full well the designers have alot on their plate as it is, it really can't be easy & for all we know they do create designs players would love to only have it thrown aside.

Another possible truth I've come to realize in FFXIV- even if we had a better variation of hairstyles, half of the playerbase wouldn't utilize them because they lack any morsel of creativity & just copy each other & AFK, half-naked in cities. From that stand-point I just think "why bother?" so I can understand why we get what we get when it comes to hairstyles & other cosmetics.

My rant may seem pretentious & it's not my intention but it's just how I look at the current situation of cosmetics & hairstyles.

I don't know, I actually like a lot of the au ra racial hair, and I prefer to use one of them more than even the hair I've bought or earned. Probably my most used hair in-general, since my face 1 au ra is pretty much my default character.. Viera has some decent hair, that's a given, obviously not enough of it, but I disagree most of their hairs are really stiff. Like the big pony tail for example has bits that just float over your shoulders - decent looking hairstyle, but I feel like they could have just shortened that bit. Honestly, a lot of the viera hairs we currently have have a lot of unnecessary bits, in my opinion. They for sure need some new ones, and hopefully they are really nice. I have tried to fantasia to viera a couple times recently (wasted a couple fantasias), but I'd just rather play au ra. Viera desperately need new options..

Oh yeah, I think the problem with that dancer hairstyle it is just looks like it has no volume. It's really flat and bland, to be honest. The cut seems kind of bad too, It's a decent hairstyle in comparison to what we have, and I was excited when I first saw it, but overall I'm not too much of a fan. I think it goes well with sunglasses though. Oh, that Karen hair, I got that awhile back, and yeah... I really don't like it..

The biggest problem I think is that they try to make a lot of the hairstyles unisex rather than making them more tailored to one gender or the other. So we end up with all those anime styled cuts that, in my opinion, look terrible on both male and female characters.

Yeah, the playerbase would probably "copy" eachother, rather I think if they released a good hairstyle everyone would be using it, I don't really see a problem with that. Just shows that the community collectively likes something. For example the Gyr Abanian Plait. Maybe that would show SE what preferences the playerbase has.

That the thing now that they've been making all hairstyles unisex. They're long on men but short on women. So women are complaining that there aren't enough long styles while men are finding that fewer and fewer styles look manly.

I know there's been a push to make sure everyone can use everything, and that's fine, but I don't think that should come at the expense of making things like hairstyles that reflect both more masculine and more feminine aesthetics.

As far as the OPs comments on ear mustaches.... I'm pretty sure, though I may be mistaken, that those are added to every hairstyle he would try on because of race? I seem to recall in my cat days that every style had them to cover up what would have otherwise been ear holes on other races.

I don't know why you guys ask for hair styles, clearly hair styles are something they're done with adding in the game, or at the very least it's been knocked down by other features. We used to get two hair styles, nowadays we're lucky to even get one. They've gone the way of dungeons, next expansion we'll get 2 hairstyles per expansion.

It's usually the Moenbryda style, or the short bobbed hair with the cute curl at the side. I see those first and foremost. And that's if anyone can spot a femroe at all.

Also stubble... so okay they can't add any more faces at this time, but what about face "paint" that resembles five o clock shadow? It nags me seeing the Shadowbringers midlander sport a stubble, but all you can get is a chin strap patch of hair... why?

I think we have several mullets similar to his, -short spikey front, longer back - the stubble, YES. I'd also like to be able to use more than 1 facepaint at a time

Alot of the hairstyles we have are lackluster, sad & just repeats of another in some fashion, here are some of styles I'd rather see

Well you can only hope for the adds, maybe one day when they have another hairstyle making contest.

All I want, is the Aesthetician hairstyles that I have already bought/earned usable on my Viera.

If it doesn't say that it cannot be used on a Viera, why let people buy the items? It could be confusing sprouts who buy them, use them, and nothing happens.

Too bad it was limited to PSP/Vita, I think they should remaster the game for the Switch BUT include an alt ending from FF7R that people are speculating about.

Eh, there is the Gladio mullet with the shaved sides, but it's not fully spikey and lacks the bang. Some of the other mullets are more like shoulder length and round at the top. Now, the male Au'Ra (the first one) is almost close, but it has a ponytail and locked to that race unfortunately.

Derplander of Darkness looks like he's gonna keel over any second... again, in every Shadowbringers patch trailer. I would love to make my WoL/D look like she got out of bed and did not care.

I want more scruffy, long styles preferrably with bangs for women. Can't really speak on Male characters because I don't play one...but I kind of hate being a supposed adventurer who looks like she gets her hair professionally done daily. It's nice sometimes but I want variety.

Oh and more hair for Viera and Hroth, yes please.
