Combine HQ + 1/2/3 Please

With inventory constraints a constant issue, it would help alot if SE could combine all the + 1/2/3's --> +1's in an upcoming patch. I still have a ton of + 2/3 items in inventory, as I'm sure alot of us do. I understand there are many other more important issues pending, but if this was a relatively easy fix, it would be a big help to constant inventory overload.

I went back, after the fact at for me, it's 28 inventory spaces this would clear up. Regards.

I used up all my +2's & +3's or NPC'd them just to make room. I agree that it would be the best solution to optimise space and the item database in general.

I personally would be pleased if they got rid of the +1 mats all together. I know it would make HQing gear more difficult, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

Development team - Any chance of this happening in a near patch? This would help inventory dramatically. Thanks

It would be near impossible to HQ high end recipes, so no thanks.

I suppose they could release HQ crystals instead, I would be ok with that.

That would require an entire rework of the crafting system again, currently if you don't use HQ mats its pretty much impossible to get HQ, you need the quality boost of HQ mats to have a chance at HQ. If they got rid of HQ mats HQ gear would be really rare (if existant) to buy it would cost over 10mil etc etc, HQ gear would be just like FFXI's relics, only the most dedicated players will have them.

Great idea Jinko. Or, to add, could purchase a NPC sold item/enchantment for a fee. That way, no extra items. You could add a fatigue to prevent massive production.

Why don't you use or sell the +2 and +3 items....

Seriously, it's a fairly simple choice here. Either the items are valuable to you enough to keep despite the cost to your inventory, or they are not.

If you think the items are worth the space they take up, keep them; if not, sell or use them. I'm not trying to be rude, but, honestly, this thread is just silly.

You don't think the addition of HQ crystals (36 in total including shards and clusters) would be better from a server database point of view than doubling all/most of the raw materials in the game ?

It's easy to come into a thread and go "phsst this thread is silly" it takes a bit of thought to give constructive feedback though, guess thats why there is so little of it on these forums.

I don't think it's silly at all. Why do I want to sell my HQ materials? They're hard enough to get. The point is, since SE made it so no difference between +1/2/3 then combine them please. I shouldn't have to sell these to gain valuable invenetory space, when a simple combine in a patch would easily alleviate the redundancy.

If it were such a simple fix, they probably would have done it already.

And as I said, If the VALUE of the HQ Materials is SO SIGNIFICANT for you that it outweighs the loss to your inventory, THEN keep them.

Obviously they DO exceed the value of your inventory for you. Given the possibility that this "simple combine" that would "easily alleviate the redundancy," is in fact not as simple as you think, maybe you should demonstrate why the inventory space that you admit is not even as valuable as the redundant HQ items you are holding on to is worth expending the limited resources of the developers.

On the other hand, you could simply sell your +3 items and buy +1 items. The power has been in your hands to fix your own situation the entire time.

Edit: Obviously free inventory space is great, and hopefully they will consolidate the items eventually. But given the great likliehood that it will not happen any time soon, I would just advise you to take matters into your own hands, and fix it yourself. You're not really being forced to hold onto these items, but I understand free inventory space is great. I just think... the choices are so blatantly obvious and so incredibly simple, that it would be hard for me to see why a thread of this type makes any sense. Especially when the devs already know about it, and have already stated their intentions.

On topic, I think it would be much easier on inventory space and clarity if all high quality items were consolidated to (HQ) instead.

eg:
Alumen > Alumen
Alumen +1 > Alumen (HQ)
Alumen +2 > Alumen (HQ)
Alumen +3 > Alumen (HQ)

To the contrary, those of us with +3 non-dated gear see it as a status symbol. It shows that we're veteran players if nothing else. It's awesome to have a piece of non-dated gear that's impossible to get any more.

You're right, I should have added "if you were to use this in endgame content" as I believe it is now unsuitable. But as afk gear, of course wear it proud! Sorry for my poor delivery.

It's a bad idea, it would destroy the economical standpoint of a DoL since they would only be able to obtain NQ mats and possibly HQ shards, but then the system would also have to change where the DOL can get shards/crystals/clusters rather then what they are meant to get which are materials and HQ materials. To just have HQ crystals would simplify the process to a point where they just might as well granta 50% HQ rate whenever you synth lol.

This topic wasn't about getting rid of HQ all together nor was it about changing it to crystals, it's about combing +2/3 into +1, so I don't even know where this whole talk of eliminating it completely came from. Do you really think storing item data is that tough, if that was the case then the game would of had problem storing data for NQ 1-3 for all the items they had released at the start, which isn't the case anymore. If anything we have less items then before because of recent changes, the only issue atm is since +!-3 do the same thing, the OP just wants to turn them all into +1.

Honestly the easiest method to do this would be to just put an NPC into the game that will exchange your +2/3 items into +1, you give it to the NPC he'll see if it's +2/3 then trade you back the same amount as +1. That would be the simplest solution, the other 'solutions" just degrade the gameplay value for crafters and DoL and take away from the game rather then help it.

no point in doing this, people just need to use them and they'll be gone.

Hardly, HQ crystals would drop just like HQ mats would, and its not just DoL that would gather them they would drop from monsters also.

It doesn't really change anything, yes the HQ crystals would have to be rare enough to make them sought after, I duno where the idea of granting a 50% HQ rate to all synths comes from, strange logic indeed.

They could add interesting mechanics such as HQ crystal only dropping from bosses and very rare gathering locations (think outside the box)

Oh im sorry I didn't realise we had to run ever idea past you for quality control.

It's not really just about database inventory either, its also making the game more streamlined and accessible to new players in general.

and most other people probably see it this way too, but I'm really hoping to have one of the few pieces of +3 gear left when 2.0 is rolled out. Yeah it's just town gear, but it's town gear that way down the line that I'll be wearing only to have some n00b come up and say "hey that eye patch is cool, where'd you get a +3?"

There is no good reason to combine these at this point

you cant get them anymore, all thats left is old ones, so why petition for those who want their +3s still to lose them? which is essentialy what this is

dont like the +3 you got? vendor it and be done with it and never worry about it again

Well then I disagree with what OP wants, epeens must be protected. Since they can't be made/gathered anymore, players with +2/+3 gear should be allowed to keep them if they want. Aren't they considered "Dated" anyway? Isn't all "Dated" gear being removed before 2.0?

Guess we'll see.

Besides I though this was mostly above materials and not items.

Would be cool if a community dev could let us know what the situation is with dated gear in 2.0 and whether we will get to keep it in the transfer.

That's the thing, the skull eye patch +3 is a drop, not a crafted item.
