Plz add additional housing slots

I feel while putting a lock on max amount of exterior items, SE did not keep into account that some items are a demand/required, leaving less slots to be used. Some of these examples are: Stables, Teleport crystal, Gardening box, Mailbox, Guestbook, Training dummies, and a few others. Shortly put... it's kinda silly that they have cobble pathways and stuff like that knowing that if I want to fill up my mansion garden I have to choose between furniture of the pathway. If I dare combine them I end up with a half filled garden. Please add an additional 5 slots to cottages, 10 to medium houses and 15 to mansions.

Also, When I want to give my FC house a "finishing" touch I max out the amount of items while still needing an additional 10 slots... but I don't even have enough slots for festivities like Christmas (properly decorating the house requires at least 6 items per floor.. it's like no one kept that into account. So please add an additional 10 slots for cottages, 20 slots for medium houses and 30 slots for mansions.

Rather than a band aid fix of more lots they need to 'reborn' the housing system.

Yes more slots/storage would be great. This and the glamour dresser with its slots too. My inventory is almost filled with gear and needed to lose up a bit of space.

Coming to a cashshop Mogstation near you... glamor subscription. Don't dismiss it, they did it with storage.

They've always said that the glamour dresser only being available in inns was due to 'server strain', and frankly I'm inclined to believe that for one reason.
My PS4 currently only tries to launch itself into orbit in two scenarios:
1. Enrage on E8
2. Entering an Inn room

So I expect the limit on slots in the glamour dresser is to stop the game crashing, likewise why we don't have a glamour dresser as a functional housing item.

You know, it can go very fast to fill them when you unlock all jobs -I mean to reach at least level 30- (craft/war/gathering) and/or all roles (it gives even more possibilities if you unlock at least all 80 roles). Between job locked gears and shared gears, since there are six slots left side, five slots (six if we consider left hand) right side, 400 is not that much.

EDIT : Imagine we consider an extrem case, you do all the relics and all the glowing weapons
ARR -> 9 jobs, 7ex (crafted weapons), one relic, one glowing with tomes : 90 weapons (9*(9+1) because of PLD shields)
HW -> 11 jobs, 7ex, one relic : 99 (11 * (8+1))
SB -> 13 jobs, 8Ex, one relic : 130 (13*(9+1))
ShB -> 15 jobs, 3Ex (old -I don't consider last and current one-), one relic : 60 (15*3+1)
Total : 379 glowing weapons.

I do know it is an extrem case, but if you consider AF gears (job gears), some crafted/dungeons/alliance/savage gears, people who do all job will rather easily use the available slots.

EDIT (2) : In fact it can be worst since each relic has several steps 4 non glowing, 4 glowing.

Accessories alone can eat up the impossible amount of place if you want to wear same set on all jobs (5 same looking items for 4 slots = 20 slots in dresser already). This or you will need to care them always in your inventory, which also eats space and takes prisms for glamouring.
I'm myself didn't max current 400 slots yet but I'm near to it, and I easily can imagine it being not enough for a lot of people.

If you evenly level alt classes, going through each set of type in turn, inventory is never really an issue. Fishing with it's million baits and no bait inventory fix is the most painful, though I find it's a good use of the chocobo saddlebag to store baits, and can be largely avoided by just using leves to level.

Once you max everything at 80, sets are shared between jobs enough that most of my armory is half empty. You can place and retrieve glamour dresser items, storing the "I'm not currently glamouring, but can't stand to part with" items on retainer. If you somehow need more than 2 retainers worth of storage, you could buy additional ones, but outside of hoarding every crafting mat in the game you shouldn't need the space.

For me, retainer 1 is at max capacity, but if pressed I could delete half of it. 2nd retainer holds on to unique items that aren't in glamour dresser or armoie and is half full. I actually have 3 more retainers beyond that, but they don't hold anything at all, and are just money generators with ventures. I do have an FC house, but the 5 Company Chest slots just store furnishings I wouldn't keep at all if I didn't have the house or apartment.

Housing was always intended to be a free company thing with apartments being for individuals. As the apartment system was only partially implemented, they allowed individuals to buy a home. At that time, houses were crazy expensive but that changed over time. I agree that the system needs to be reworked but anything significant will cause more drama than it’s worth for the devs.

No, Free Companies were supposed to have separate wards than individuals.

Apartments were a band aid when they realised not everyone who wanted one could get even a small house.

Just a little mistake fix : They opened to individuals before the release of apartments. A lot of plots were still available even after the price drop (I bought a mansion, on Cerberus, at 35M when we were still told we would not lose houses ).

But I can confirm, at that time, initially, Y-P was speaking about housing wards as built for FCs.

Honestly, when I consider FFXIV and the technology on which the game is based, the overhaul needed makes me think a brand new MMO would be easier, more efficient, cheaper and somehow, more interesting, than a n-patch on a patch. This said without illusion. I don't expect any worthy brand new MMORPG before 2023 or even 2025.

To add to what's already been said. Just take AF gear alone. There are at least 3 sets for almost all DoW classes (minus blu/dnc/gnb that have 2 iirc) so that's 3x(5x15) + 3x(5x2) = 255. Lets say that in addition to this you have at least one weapon per job +19. Now add relics, lets say you aren't crazy and get maybe 3-4 per expansion, each of those have 2-3 variations you enjoy. That's an added 18-36 slots.
Ok now lets turn towards our crafters and gatherers. Lets say we aren't that big on glam for these so we have maybe 2 gathering clams and 3-4 crafter glams that's an added 25-30 items. We want nice tools for our DoH/DoL but we don't care for secondary tool, that's an added 11 slots.

We're already at a grand total 328-351 slots.
There are 11 equitable slots so that leaves you with enough room for ~4 extra items per slot and I still haven't talked about:
- ANY accessories
- Mogstation items
- Raiding gear
- Dungeon gear
- Crafted gear glam for DoW
- Deep dungeon weapons
- Ultimate weapons (~47)
- People who farm all relics (~42 base ones, each have at least 5 steps)
- Relic gear
- Tombstone gear
- etc.

Keep in mind at this point we don't even have ANY custom glam gear for our DoW, just the AF gear. 400 is so little. It should be doubled at least even though I would settle for 200 more slots. The feature is behind one expansion in terms of available slots.

There are a lot of things that need attention. The ability to clutter your yard is low on the list for me.

IRL, we all have pretty much nothing but grass, so I don't understand the immediate need to have more exterior housing slots when we could really use more interior slots and instanced housing in general.

You live in a strange neighborhood if everyone's yard consists of a lawn and only a lawn, no pathways, no trees, no shrubs, no flowers, no furniture. Or it's one with a ridiculously restrictive HoA that any sensible person would avoid.

If you feel a lawn is sufficient decoration for a space, then an increase to the interior item limit is needed even less than an increase to the exterior limit. Item to ground space ratio is still a lot better for interiors than it is for exteriors. The outdoor ground space for my FC's mansion is bigger than the total interior floor space of a small house and yet we're limited to 40 items instead of 200. But I get that's a technical issue since each house interior is instanced separately while each house exterior is one of several contributing to overall decoration in a ward.

We don't need more instanced housing in terms of quantity. I can hop onto any world and find lots of available apartments (even Gilgamesh and Balmung had plenty when I checked a couple of weeks ago). What we need is more variety options to choose from when it comes to instanced housing. 4 different default wall/ceiling combinations doesn't amount to much choice when otherwise they're all still the same 3 x 4 "panel" rectangular room and we have to blow a significant portion of our item limit to make their shape appear different. Being able to choose an apartment size would be a big step forward.

The sad thing is they talked about small, medium and large apartments and that they were looking at possibly implementing them as an option but nothing since 4.2 housing release. Multiple rooms, duplex apartments with two floors and so on would be wonderful additions and makes lots of people happy.

I would love to see this as I ended up in pretty much the exact same place as the OP recently. I had a pretty good idea for my yard but would have run out of slots even if I pared it back to just the necessary bits. I'm not talking massively overboard but I'd be at most 5 slots over the max so I just ended up scrapping the whole thing.

Sure it's not a big deal for everyone, even everyone who does have a house, but it would be a nice tweak for those of us who do.

400 isn't enough to be honest considering new gear/wear come out every few months in various dungeons/PVP/raids/crafting/Mogstation.

Sadly some items cannot be placed in Armoire either. Like the mogtome items or newer glam items bought from mogstation.

While normally I might say "ugh, that could become such a performance hit given that yards are not instanced like interiors"... the limit leaves me one slot short of what I want to do in my yard. So right now, I sort of feel this. :/

I have a full dresser and two retainers half to mostly full of glamour items and regularly clean out stuff I don't use as often purely to make space for new stuff I like. So yes. ;p

Way too spoiled by transmog in WoW. You get it once, you can use that appearance forever on any character that shares that armor type. Ez pz more bank full of crap yes please.

But you're not going to be using them all.. Pick two at a time, decide which one you like better, delete the other. Repeat until you're down to one per job.

Considering the time some gears and weapons require to get them, I will not delete them (it is different for the "glamour" copy though). And what if I wish to change? Should I grind again? Hell no.

If we do savage, we will not do them each time we feel in mood to use a glamour coming from them, same goes for Ex or Alliance (for a part because there is RNG). Only the relic can be different since there is a glamour we can buy (but there are conditions).

16 war jobs, 8 crafting jobs, 3 gathering jobs, we already have 162 options for the left side (297 for the right side, 309 if we consider secondary weapon/tool).

I've not reached 400 on my main but I don't do savage and don't feel in mood to do some old Ex solo but considering I've already reached 360 (more or less) on my main, it's not difficult to see with Ex weapons or Savage gears I would have reached 400 already. And I don't do the right side at all.

Out of the 30 ish homes in my ward, besides mine 1 is active and several house dead FCs which are just fronts to own multiple houses since the owner lives next door to it whom have been offline for months.

Their needs to be a purge since it’s a very common sight. Like a eviction system or have a certain amount of FC members to purchase a house not the bare minimum.

Using relic weapons is a bad example because most, if not all have replicas available for sale, so you don't have to grind them all over again or if you prefer a step further back. They're actually examples of things you don't need to put on the dresser, because it's so easy to buy them back.
