Squadron changes I'd like to see going foward.

• First off would be the obv Level cap increase to 70-80 and access to jobs (especially classless ones). With those outta the way
• I'd like an increase in the maximum amount of Squadmates we can have, an increase of the amount missions we can do per week (we can only do them multiple times as long as we fail each time)
• I'd also like some more customization options, even if limited. For example would be Lalafellin recruits Sasahu and Liliba, the former has buns but there is a hairstyle that adds the buns to Liliba's and thus I'd like both to be able to use them. Another lalafell-centric example would be Totodi having access to the other variants of her "Pigtails with Bows" hairdo.
• I'd also like to have the option to have them do emotes and and be summoned to the overworld for GPose purposes, they don't have to fight in these cases.
• I would also want a completely customization recruit akin to 1.0's Path Companion and retainers, after reaching a certain rank.
• Lastly, I would like to have something akin to the Masked Carnivale, a set of instances designed to be tackled with the Squadron.

I think they should just keep working on this. Why waste this content when they already put time into developing it, and people have been putting the content to use. I mean, honestly they didn't waste time developing it.. I liked the squadron system, it's new and different and really makes you feel like you're part of the the GC.

I would mostly love to see them prune some abilities. It's infuriating to watch ACN spam bane or any melee featherfoot>blood for blood>internal release>second wind and then not throw out any damage before the mob dies.

I would also love for them to increase the heal priority to 75/80% rather than the 50% it is at now, and DEFINITELY make heal>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>esuna.

Yeah before squadron, the ranking system was unused. The newer ones are now tied to the Squadron system, which has pretty much been trash canned in favor of the trust system, where the squadron system was clearly a prototype for. It's something I've said before, although of course I don't know if really true as to why the team doesn't do enough with it - GC is a carry over from 1.0 and not even part of his vision, but the vision of his predecessor.

Or better yet, just recruit your Scion buddies in your squad. With the Scion champion being a high ranking officer of one of the GCs, it's kind of pointless to maintain the neutrality that Minfilia strove for. All the city states are already part of the same military alliance of which the Scions serve.

Honestly I'd dislike this for the simple fact that an Offensive 5 Squadron is miles faster than Trusts. As in, Aurum Vale or Sohm Ahl in 12-14 minutes, instant queues and all the loot.

Sure they have clunky AI, need leveling and then a lot of rng to even get Offensive 5, but at least you work towards and earn that fast leveling method. Trusts will never become faster.
Squadrons also haven't hurt the 20-60 queues, making the argument that unlocking efficient Trusts with a bit of work would kill 70-80 dungeon queues.

I'd actually like to see Trusts gain the Mastery system from Squadrons once they hit 80.

Feels like they should add more Heavensward and Stormblood MSQ dungeons. For Heavensward, you have Sohm Al, and the Vault and not much else to level your job just spam them over and over. No Stormblood dungeons for whatever reason.

Trusts are nice, albeit a little slow but it's intended. It makes DPS grinding much easier than just using roulettes and the ONE beast tribe.

Also, I want my retainers added to both the squads and trusts.

Trusts are going to essentially replace squadrons.

Unfortunately, the way they've been treating Squadrons (or rather, lack of any treatment at all) probably signifies that they want it to go the way of SMN egi glamours; that is, "don't talk about it or acknowledge it and hope that the players stop asking about it and forget about it."

I wish they where like the Trusts. I do not mind it being a bit slower, I don't really like the AI of the sqaudrons.

Maybe I just never understood how it worked but it seemed you couldn't go through available candidates without rejecting those before. I would like to be able to look through all available candidates. I understand you can get them back eventually. It just seems like they really didn't think it through.

I have wanted this for a long time. At least let us run the 60-70 levelling dungeons with squadrons. I use squadrons to get my jobs to 70 because the ones I'm levelling now are jobs I don't play (need that Amaro mount!)and I don't want to inflict them on other people who then have to deal with my inadequacies.

I literally believe squadrons was their test dummies for trusts. Now that trusts are here, I dont see them using development time to work on squadrons.

They need to update it so that we can actually run command missions as a Blue Mage. It's so annoying that I am depended on other people, if I want to run any content as Blue Mage.

This, really. Just access to something useful in the 61-70 range would do. I'm a terrible, horrible tank, other people should not have to suffer through my tank moments just because the jobs have cute stories I want to progress.

You can, you just click postpone instead of reject, and it takes you to the next.

Yes please. To all of it. We really need more squadron. Trusts are not even a valid replacement, I love squads and hate trusts.

Yup, more love for squadrons, retainers, companions and trust.

A revamp on all those, in an ideal world:
- Chocobo ranking system expanded
- Chococo to dungeons
- Squadron level cap increase
- Number of Squadron recuits increase
- New races and variants to squadrons
- Use retainers as squadrons
- Jobs to squadrons
- Squadrons/retainers to overworld
- Trust and personalities AI to squadrons
- More trust NPCs (and let us use all of them unrestricted on second clear on)

Hear me, as a software deveoper myself I know thats a lot of work but if do it smartly you can save lots of dev time.

The AI battle script cheat sheet per role is the key, they are using it on trust dungeons so they can succeed clearing it, maybe they are scipting movement for each trust NPC but even so using them as base for the more "generic" squadrion npcs or using a couple of personality script per role for squadrons/companion/retainers

Or scratch all that and make a NEW deep dungeon/eureka instanced with random look on rooms and bosses where you can take a revamed AI for squadrons/trust/retainers/companion that can be used to level your jobs and the NPCs (as squadrons and trust do)

I tried just a little bit ago. Postpone just exited. Opened it up again and dismissed that one. Then it asked if I wanted to look at the remaining and it shows me another one. I assume I have a ton of them since I’ve done a lot of the challenge log and probably haven’t changed anyone in a year or more.

I have 8 max level people but they are mostly the first ones plus the first few applicants that came to me. I just stuck with them because it was such a hassle just to look at anyone else.

If they ever rework the system my first request would be to let as see a list. Also let us have more people. From what I read a squadron is at least 30 people or 12 planes.

I would definitely like some 60 -70 Dungeons for the Squad because there are some classes I'm not that good at but I do want to level them for the armaro mount. I'd much rather do the levelling with the squad than inflict myself on other people (and I'm sure other people would prefer that, too!).

I'd also like some updated rewards. I worked so hard to get the chemistry for materia because it was very useful at the time. Now the materia is at a level nobody needs or really uses.
New chemistries with better rewards would be an easy way to get people interested in their squads again.

The biggest issue for me with the whole Squadron thing is, that its basically not worth doing it and dont feel rewarding. Everything you get from doing Squadron is just for the Squadron, the dungeons take longer than doing them normal. You are not compensated enough for doing them, they are not worth the time if you think about lvling with them. Once you got the max lvl and unlocked every Dungeon their is no reason sticking around with them. You don't get any unique or useful stuff from it. Why should we lvl and max them if there is nothing useful you could use them for?

Well there are the workout emotes. You can get some MGP and also buffs that are equivalent to some FC actions.

Once they're fully levelled, including offensive 5, they're a lot faster than actual players, not to count the lack of dps queue. And way less painful than the general pugs tbh.
A great way to learn how to play your class well also.

Except the few emotes that's nothing worth doing them, especial if you already have a capped char that doesn't need any buffs anymore. Also most times the Buffs you need are already active from the FC and for MGP i prefer playing the real Goldsaucer stuff instead of dungeons. No matter how you look at it there Squadrons need to have more things and rewards that are worth you time. One of many options could be crafting mats for example, giving players an alternative source to get some mats or give them Moggle and Tomestone rewards equal to the Duty finder or even a bit more since it takes longer and is a bit harder than with real players.

The squadron buffs are the equivalent of Tier III FC buffs which most guilds don't bother with since they're too expensive or too much trouble. At best you'll have two Tier II buffs running and if they aren't running the buff(s) you want you're SOL unless you've got the handy squadron buff scripts.

I was wondering why the Aethyrite passes have a bigger discount then the FC buffs (when they're active at least).

BTW do the relevant squadron/FC buffs affect the payout from MGP vouchers as well?

You realize that some of the buffs do stack? like the xp from squadron can be stacked with the fc xp buff for example. pretty sure mgp buffs stack as well. I especially love the durability buff you can get as well especially with the constant farm sessions for tomes going on right now.

With the exception of WP HM in squadron I can clear most dungeons in roughly 15-20 minutes.

They're not expensive. More like it's annoying process for something that can't be used on a consistent basis. I would only call them too much trouble if the goal is to have them active daily because that requires an exploit of the housing system.

Your FC must have a FC house (many don't). There must be a Level 6 Aetherial Wheel Stand placed in the house. Then it takes 71 hours to charge a single Grade 3 wheel and you can only charge one at a time. The primed wheels can't be stored in the FC chest or traded. You either have to add them to the inactive FC actions or keep them stored on the character that removes them from the stand.

You'd need to get the FC to agree on which buffs should be Grade 3 and which days of the week they should be used.

Pretty annoying. It's a shame that SE doesn't add the Grade 3 actions to the GC vendor so even FCs without a house can have access.

It doesn't affect payout from vouchers or the challenge log. It only affects the payout for playing the games.

Squadron manual buffs do not stack with FC action buffs. Just checking the bonus % listed next to the reward will confirm that. Our FC runs Jackpot II (10%) every Saturday to coincide with the cactpot drawing. I always use my Squadron manual (15%). I still only get a 15% bonus from the manual, not 25% from Jackpot II plus manual.

What Squadron manuals will stack with is personal consumables that give a similar effect. The crafting and gathering manuals will stack with the manuals you get as quest rewards or buy with scrip/GC seals, the spiritbonding manual will stack with spiritbonding potions, etc.

I'm not saying it's great, just that there is stuff that isn't just for the squadrons. I agree, after the emotes it's kinda blah. The tombstones you get from the duty finder I believe are meant to be incentives to play with other people.

Squadrons need work but I'm doubting they'll get it. Squadrons seem to have more to offer than Trusts. Is there more to the trust system than just leveling them up? I've only done one dungeon with them. They make sense as an alternative in Shadowbringers considering the story situation. Seem there is more to do with Squadrons, but even that got boring. At least you can dress them up and use the Glamour Dresser and Armoire, unlike the deliveries people.
