What kind of immersion-breaking game scenario would descend upon the world like madness, making people cancel their subscriptions left and right if free teleportation was opened up and anima was abolished?

In 2.0 none of the aerthetye will work.
Non-limited teleport? No thanks
Let the anima ingame or make it that each teleport cost many many gil
Correct me if I,m wrong, but the fact is, that it will mean that the world as we know it had really ENDED, atleast lore wise.
IMO, this is just as silly of a suggestion as the other end of the spectrum where people are calling for an end to teleporting all together.
If you are blowing through 100+ anima you are abusing it. Stop it.
hey while we are at it, why even have hp bars? maybe we could just ya know, make death optional
Right now I think there are enough shortcuts around using Anima. Stop porting to Blackbrush from Uldah plz.
I like parley.
Excuse me while I ramble on for a bit.
Back during testing we were able to port around la nocea or at least what we had access to at will. The only requisite was that you actually had to make the trip your self once. Aethers are really just tarted up way points no mater how you look at them.
I wonder what the reaction would be if they keep the limiter that anima represents but change how it acts?
What if they scrap anima and replace it all together with a cool down timer? Something along the lines of the length of the timer they put on return when they yanked its anima cost. Perhaps a bit longer though.
It keeps porting a some what finite resource but one that is far easier to manage. Though with this change it might be best to allow travel directly to the aether nodes via teleportation. Though something would have to be hashed out in the event that a party member had not touched that particular node.
Though with this solution you would have to use your ports for long distance travel like they were kind of intended for.
Tl:dr: Pull anima costs replace it with a global cool down timer. Walk your ass to black brush from uldah.
No anima! NO ANIMA! NOOOOO ANNNIIIMMMAAA~!!!!!!!!!!!!!
free teleports everywhere = no one ever using choco or airhsip
no thanks
The world as we know it will be changed, not gone. Eorzea will still be intact, just different. From a gamer's standpoint though, yes the world of 1.X is gone and 2.0 is a different world.
No one would use airships. If you can teleport to the city instantly, why would you use the airship which costs gil and takes longer? Chocobos would be needed still but how useful they are would be severely lessened.
why take the airship when teleporting to a city is 4 minutes faster.
Why explore at all when party members can teleport someone to places they haven't been to yet.
Why even bother getting off your chocobo? They should just make it so we always fight on choco's all the time. Or Goobbues.
Why have an open world at all? It should all be instanced areas with lobby servers at the cities.
Wait, why pay for a game that's just a lobby server with instanced areas, where we can all teleport wherever and always ride chocobos? Sounds like other F2P games to me. I think I'd just go play them instead.
Wait, Why play these games if they're just going to bow to the wishes of the lowest common denominator?
Who said you will be able to teleport to town when now we have 2 returns to two different towns. One to an in and one to another place(could be another town).
So, with that in mind, they would just have to take out the teleport in the towns, but even then, you can just "return" with no anima cost at all. Just a little wait time.
Also, you have no idea on my stances on things if you are saying those things.
How I think teleports should be done. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...mpany-teleport
uh what. There's a crystal in town. You can teleport to it using anima if you don't have it set as your return spot. You can only set one home point.
uh what. So if they make teleports free, they should remove the crystal from the city? You jumped to some line of reasoning that I was not aware of.Quote:

Clearly.Quote:

That take 5 minutes to run to/from. If Teleports become free, why bother having them around?Quote:
Also, airships are teleports that you pay for......
What point are you even trying to make?
its amazing that the same 3 people make this thread anew every week
The world is ending anyways, so wouldn't make a difference. oo;
They should kill this topic... Do away with it... I'm tired of it crowding up the forums...
here it is
"こんばんは。
Good evening,
以前、宿屋の中にデジョンの他にテレポでも飛べるようになるとお答えいたしましたが、
皆さんからのフィードバックを頂き、以下のように仕様を見直すことになりました。
Previously we have mentioned you will be able to teleport into the Inn but after receiving everyone's feedbacks we decided to change the system to the following:
テレポでは宿屋には飛べない。
Can't teleport to inside the Inn
デジョンの登録先を現在のホームポイントの設定とは別に、宿屋にも設定できるようにする。
You will be able set home point aside from the regular home point specifically for the Inn (2nd homepoint but just for Inn)
設定できる宿屋は1都市のみ。
You can only set Inn to 1 city
また何かあれば引き続きフィードバックをお願いいたします。
If there is anything else please continue to leave feedbacks, thanks.Yep that's it
So technically you can do..
1 - Inn HP - Limsa
2 - Aetheryte HP - Ul'dah "
Thanks for that Reinheart
So with that in mind, traveling is going to be even easier!
Well, just a thought, but every class has MP, so they could have a sacrifice MP option for teleport. Your MP would have to be full, and then it would use all your MP to tele you. Then you have to let MP regen, or if something quicker like ethers. Might even boost sales of ethers. Or have to wait for MP to regen. Not that im against anima, but could be another option?! ^^
Well i was thinking that the use of MP, would keep to the lore of magic use to tele. Not just another cool down timer, just a thougt.
If they do remove anima, here's my 2 cents.
Have Grand Companies issue Anima crystals. One usage per, relatively cheap seals cost. You have to be level 30 to acquire them, but you can use them to teleport anyone in your party.
This does a few things:
- keeps teleportation within the context of the game
- Gives new players something to work for
- Requires that new players explore their surroundings until level 30.
At the same time, levequest counters should give the option to teleport the player to a camp (after aligning with node) and back, once per earth day. This allows for casual players to still get their hour's worth of game in before they hit level 30.
