FF Versus XIII and FFXIV 2.0 playable and FFXV announcement trailer at E3 2012

I know it's a rumor, but anyone thinks that there might be some truth to it?

Hey, every FF game up to FFXXVII is confirmed as far as I'm concerned.

They recently announced that FFvsXIII will be released episodically, so I think there's a rush to finally get it out the door.

But Yoshi has only mentioned trailer for XIV.

I believe vsXIII will be playable but I'm not so sure about 2.0. It would be smart to have a small environment built specifically for a hands-on E3 demo. The best way to get the word out that it's a better engine and better design is to let the journalists experience it. But I have a feeling it'll be just a trailer.

FFXIII Versus was cancelled they just haven't told us yet in hopes we all forget :P

I think they will have more to show than just a trailer of FFXIV, the game engine has been completed as of last month, they would have a good bit of time to make a playable section of the game.

I imagine this years SE conference will be all about FFXIV so expect an on stage demonstration at least, and a trailer (hopefully not a CGI one)

Yea I expect that XIV 2.0 will only be represented by an extensive trailer, though it wouldn't really surprise me if they had a playable build present.

2.0 client is in reality mode since last month, I would be surprised if there isn't any gameplay for FFXIV 2.0.. they need to do more than a little trailer to attract the eyes of the players!

I feel the same, they need to hype 2.0 up. If not their lunch will go unnoticed and people will still have the image of XIV at lunch in their head when talking about the game. It will end up being a pointless re-launch if they don't put some $ into advertising it.

This is correct and was mentioned in an interview. Some small tweaks need to be made but they have already been playing 2.0

I'm almost Positive there will be a Playable build, They had a playable build of FFXIV the Year it came out on E3... This is no different! They know whats at stake, They know what will happen if they fail.. and there 2.0 Client is Reality now!

I really do believe they will have a playable build there.

The guy who was the original spokesperson for FFXIV was so awful. Even HE sounded bored by the game. I don't know if he was an understudy or if he was seriously their first choice, but come on...

I don't know if anyone can confirm this but i think i saw either a post by Yoshi-p or from an interview, he said something about E3 only having a CGI trailer of XIV 2.0 but most likely no in-game footage. It was a while back so thing might have changed and honestly, if they only come up with a CGI trailer then i don't see how people will even care for 2.0?

He said that 2.0's engine was complete as of last month and that they are at the step of porting code from the old engine to the new one. I don't know anything about programing but how long does that give them to come up with a least 1 playable area or some in-game material to show in a trailer?

I never saw this interview, nor hear Yoshi-P say this at all... and E3 is where you reveal alot of stuff you will be releasing. Why would they tell everyone about what they will be showing at E3? If they want to attract customers, they need to show a Build of the Product.. I'm sure SE knows this, and it will stick them in the foot if they don't!

And since they are in 2.0's Client now.. they have 3 months from the time they finished the client to make a Playable build.
Logic says, SE will have alot of stuff regarding FFXIV 2.0.. they didn't work so hard on a product and lose millions of dollars just to see it go down the drain.

How can they make all brand new maps with Content to put in them by October 2012 from the time they started 2.0 which was 1.5 years ago? How can they do all that along side FFXIV 1.xx? I'm sure they have at least 1 playble map with content in it by now.

But back on topic, the beta for 2.0 is supposed to be around October somewhere so hopefully if they're doing things right they'll have at least 1 small area playable or at least a video of gameplay by the time June comes around. Wasn't the 2.0 screenshot, shot in game?

He said he supposedly did research on game design so he should have known the answer to his question. It's already on the shop floor, therefore they can easily put out a playable E3 demo if they so chose, considering MMO E3 demos tend to only be segments regardless.

Exactly, they have the choice weather or not they want to put a Playable demo in E3 or not. They are at a point where they can put one together for E3, or they can choose weather or not its worth having one at E3.

but at this point and SE situation with FFXIV.. this is there last chance.. all sources really do point to them having one at E3.

That's just how I feel.. and the most logical way they should do it.

If i were a betting man i would put some dosh down on a new trailer at e3 and more info from vanafest later that month.

They had Test Servers and the Graphics engine was during the summer of 2011 according to the PDF files. the graphics part of it was already established.. and there were test servers for the 2.0.

FFXIV is already slated to be there. FF Versus will not be there I can almost bet that. SE has enough titles with both themselves and Eidos that they won't have a lack of things to show. Also since they are showing off something for FFXIV there is no way they will release new Versus stuff because it would completely overshadow anything FFXIV they show and since the general public already either dislike FFXIV or are in a mindset that the game hasn't changed due to the awful reviews that could hurt. Unless they knock it out of the park with FFXIV they are going to have problems changing peoples minds.Let's just hope FFXIV isn't a CG trailer because there will be many unhappy people.

If its just a CGI trailer they get the middle finger from me.

It's very unlikely they would let this opportunity pass them by, although knowing SE they will have some closed doors BS just to piss us all off.

If nothing in game is shown at E3 it will most likely be shown at a later time with a live letter.

FFXIV will probably have a playable demo. Its hard to convince everyone you have a new engine if you dont actually show the new engine. Its even harder to say "this game is totally different" if you dont actually...show the game. Isn't this common sense lol? Anyone who thinks itll just be a cgi trailer is off their rocker.
