This is of course after you decided to take away all of the nature based spells (Aero, Stone) from WHM.

Guess I should at least be thankful it doesn't have Piety on it.

I love the new WHM relic. The stats are amazing too. Thank you SE. Going to pass on the Tome weapon personally.

Edit: And additionally you can be sure this isn't the final version although I like this one, the final stage will look nothing like this introductory weapon. They never do.

I have strong tendency to make fun of that branch, but not gonna lie I kind of dig it lol.

Do you realise how long I have been hoping and wishing for a nice tree-branch WHM staff?

It's gorgeous and I can't wait to get my alt to the end of Shadowbringers so I can use it with the "forest mage" glamour I made for him. I haven't had a properly matching staff since I left ARR and had to stop using wands.

I love my Eureka staff but I'm not glamouring it to this one.

I like it. The branch and leaves have a pretty texture and I love the tiny curly vines hanging from it.
So many weapons are either very heavy looking or really flashy so I'm glad we get something a bit more simple again. A nice branch with good texture instead of outdated pixel vomit like the low level branch-like staffs.

And this is the first stage, the following stages will probably add all sorts of fancy glows and textures and whatnot. Not to mention the final stage always looks completely different from the first stages.

I actually quite like this as well! Nice to see WHM going back to nature.

It looks nice. I wonder what the next steps would make it look like. It's not bad at all.

Is the first step dyeable? Very much doubt it but can't check till later :(

Look at the other weapons. That is one of the best ones and I can't wait to get it.

It has no Piety. I'd take Titan in a pink tutu using a moogle topped cane to pole dance while I cast heals if it means finally getting a no-Piety weapon this tier.

This is my favorite WHM relic yet, and my favorite Resistance Weapon by a large margin.

I really hope the upgraded version's glowing effect compliments it!

Having a throwback to our CNJ days is nice too. Nature is such a massively missing theme in this game.

I mean, it's Step 1. Of course it's not going to be too impressive now.

I don't like it either. But it's because I personally just don't like weapons that look like they have been cut from trees.
Nature-themed weapons are fine, like the ARR relic Nirvana. I just prefer WHM weapons that look more elegant and are made of metal.
I would like the leaves on this one if they weren't "real".
We had many less "elegant" WHM weapons as leveling gear, so I would have preferred another one as a relic (especially as didn't like any of the lvl 80 WHM weapons either), but well, can't have everything, and many players seem to like it.

I really like it. I haven't gotten it yet because it doesn't go with my current WHM glam, but it's one of the prettiest we got this time. And it'll surely look much better when glowing too.

That legit is the best whm relic weapon in my opinion.

Personally other then possibly the fully upgraded anima that is my favorite design for a cane in the game. It matches the druid aspect.

I'd honestly take that over the literal weather vane so to each their own /shrug

I do agree, however, that finally giving us something naturey right after losing our nature-themed spells feels like a low blow.

Because you see, this particular branch is not one of your regular branches!

This branch yields a powerful magic of high quality textures. No other branch has anything like that!

Oh, I love it! I just wish it looked closer in design to Y'Shtola's staff with orbs of earth, water and wind orbiting the the crystal on a ring of light or between magical runes

Yeah.. i dislike it. Granted most of my distaste towards it is them giving us this after getting rid of the nature theme from the WHM kit. Also there are tons of bloody twigs for WHM weapons it's just most of them look awful. we finally got a twig that doesn't look as bad but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. the fact that this is the best design for a while also speaks volumes on how bad whm weapon designs are in general.

I still can't wrap my head around as to why blm gets most of the cool looking sticks when if you look at it they are both just holding a stick. they just hold it slightly differently.

I want one and I don't even heal.

It's literally the introductory base weapon of a relic weapon, you should realize by now that the base weapons are intentionally supposed to be incredibly basic. Also, not gonna lie it looks amazing.

You likely 'nurture' that staff via upgrades, and probably will grow and look more impressive later, so you have a cool dynamic going on there.

Unlike most other weapons.

I think the whole point was wanting something new that also happened to be cool looking.

I love the WHM relic more than any weapon in the game, tbh. I’ve been fawning over it all morning. The stats and the look make me incredibly happy, but my WHM glam has been nature based for a bit so I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect one.

However if you’re not happy with it, I’m sure it’s been said but it’s just the first step. It will change appearance in latter steps so hold out hope for whatever it is you’re wanting I guess.

Indeed, and well said-- as did BunniEclair also mentioned above.

To the OP: The final form of the relic hardly ever looks likes the introductory base form-- so enjoy the darn bloody tree branch while you can because it's actually quite true to the job. In case you forgot, the current reiteration of White mage-- which I believe gradually reemerged in the... (briefly rubs his temple)... Astral seventh era-- does in fact originate from the Padjal and elementals in Gridania who revived the class after the madness of the sixth Umbral calamity. Thus, having a "branch" as a weapon is highly appropriate.

And yes, the stats on all the new relics are truly amazing.

For the first time in a long time I'm just using an non-glamoured staff that is on my level. Because it's exactly what I've always wanted for something nature like without looking too clunky, overly feminine or SHINY SHINY.
