So with the server merge, my girlfriend wanted to reactivate her account so she could play again, and we hadn't realized the front page had a post saying:
"The transfer was not performed on characters that did not have the “Subscribed” status on either March 26 or March 27, 2012, or on both days. Transfer of these characters will be performed gradually at a later time. Once the transfer is complete, players will be able to play on their characters in the new World if they have completed the steps to resume their automatic recurring service options.
Priority for the character transfer will be given to players who resume their automatic recurring service option before the transfer process is completed. However, please note that it will take several days after a player resumes their automatic recurring service option for the completed transfer to take effect."
Has anyone reactivated after the merge and been given access by now? We're just trying to gauge how long "Several days" is in Square Enix language, and also, if a rep sees this post, do these "several days" count towards the 30 she payed for, or does it reimburse those days?

Several days to SE is usually 3-7 days after reactivation, however that announcement isn't largely accurate. No reimbursment and it does indeed count towards it. (same deal with FFXI.)
Its not fully accurate for the reason that those who were active long before that time frame didnt get transfer either while those who were inactive, did get transfered. So it's pretty glitched currently for some people despite activity, but the rest is accurate, try again in a week or two I'd say or wait till mid-late April. -

Assume your post is accurate. I on one hand, I feel good that they transfered paying customers first. On the other hand, the fact that they did a half assed merger and didn't complete it is kind of ridiculos, and does not help in there overall image.

My thoughts exactly, it was bad enough the server merge took them over 15 hours, then to top it off they didn't even finish transferring all characters? That's ridiculous.

On JP side there is one post about a person who started the game few days before the merge and few other still in the 30 day free trial period - those people didn't get transferred to the new servers it seems.

Well I hope they have some sort of compensation for those who are losing the playtime they are paying for. Sort of like when that disaster hit Japan and XI was down for several weeks. I know it won't take that long for the data transfer, however, anything beyond 2 days is unacceptable and should have some compensation of some form.

Perhaps they have specific days, and we just got lucky, the fact its over the weekend it may be a manual process for whatever reason.

You can do certain things automatically (i.e resyncing) but you still need someone to physically work on the database, which is why they say based on activity there will be a wait period after you reactivate it during x period.Quote:
