IDEAS TO MAKE THE GAME BETTER

JUST IDEAS FOR THE GAME TO AGE EVEN BETTER :

- First would be voice acting, when i first played ..it was such a pain to go through all the muted conversations . I can see this turning away many new players easily too. They should have voice acting for all the dialogue for MQS at the very least.

-Second , rework the Auto attack system a bit. Make it a bit similar meaningful like MOBAS

-Third, Graphical Upgrade. I think its about time to improve the graphics, some textures are very dated ..game looks gorgeous and ages really well; but some textures need rework. Like ground and terrain . Foliage . Etc

-FOURTH :Expand Gold saucier and the activities available in there and rewards.

-Fifth : maybe build like a Library of some sort , where new and returning and current player can go to and say type an item and it will have guide books on each item to show all the many thing we can do with a specific item...Something like “ The great library of knowledge “ or something like that.

-Sixth : some of the sounds] design and audio are quite bad. Need rework. Especially on the SDS Fenrir Bike mount and other mounts and other stuff as well. The audio on those needs major rework

Expanding the voice acting they will not do because it not only is very expensive and an expansion of voiced custscenes would eat into the development budget for little to not tangeable benefit, some situations it is actually impossible to have fully voiced dialogue without having all NPCs in the game not identify your character by their name instead using some default alias (this is what Bioware does with their games like Mass Effect, you may be able to change their first name but the main character will always be whatever name Bioware chose for that protagonist).

This is why in FFXIV cutscenes already that do have fully voiced dialogue your character is only identified by a generic bolierplate title ("the adventurer", "the Warrior of Light", "the Champion of Hydaelyn" etc etc) - it's the price that's paid for allowing the player to fully customize their name, and personally I prefer it this way.

And it should go without saying that although the voice acting in Shadowbringers has improved a lot since the 1.0/ARR days, it's still pretty awful, so I think most would rather not have SE expand voice acting to all dialogue in the game if it's going to be mediocre at best.

It won't really be has expensive for them to do either if they at least patch it for just MSQ. We talking about square enix here. they have the fund for it for sure. It really is beneficiary , because it's hard for new players to get in , just because of that. coming in knowing that the game is very story driven...yet they have to read read read to a point where its too tidius. part of the reason why they quit before reaching end game , because its very story driven , yet they are too disconnected to the story to push on the MSQ grind.

i don't think the devs would justify spending money on revoicing old content. it's just not worth it. the VA's changed from HW vs ARR so all of ARR would have to be revoiced and that would be too expensive. just because you think "they're rich" that's not a good enough reason.

the game will never a graphical overhaul. they would just make a new game instead. it's working just fine imo.

as for your fifth point - it already exists as the database on the lodestone. also many other sites/wikis have information that do that already - gamerescape/garland tools/etc.

Square Enix perhaps, the dev team, not so much. If SE were to increase the budget then there's a lot of other things that would take priority and I'd rather see done first. The text is in nice small quick to read chunks.

Plus they've changed voice actors of the years, I think to go back and add voices would be more jarring. Not like they'd necessarily be able to get all of their previous VA's, especially Yugiri's as her VA was murdered a couple of years ago.

If the dev team had an unlimited budget, sure, but to my mind this is something I would put low on a priority list, I don't think being fully voice acted would have a lot of pulling power.

Remember, it's 4 times the work and costs. Since they would need voiced lines in Japanese, German and French as well.

Voice actors aren’t cheap. To go back and re-voice all non-voices cutscenes from ARR to ShB is a huge undertaking. Not to mention that it would have to be done in all four of the supported languages (English, Japanese, French, and German). It would definitely cut into the budget of content added in future patches, and since people have been up in arms about losing one dungeon every other odd patch, I can imagine the outrage over cutting content to go back and afford voice acting for content a lot of people won’t revisit.

There’s more voiced cutscenes once you get into SB and ShB, but I don’t think every scene needs to be voiced.

The reason why people quit before reaching endgame isn’t because they have to read. It’s because of the 100 quests in the 2.x quest chain between the end of ARR and the beginning of HW that tends to get people. That’s tedious, and no amount of voice acting would ever make that amount of pointless filler acceptable. Hence why they’re reworking ARR and releasing the rework in Parch 5.3.

Idk about all characters but alot of the characters already have voices in the game yet at some parts they don't use the voice honestly has no excuse on cost because the voice for that character is already in the game you could basicly put it into a voice emulator and make it speak any word that wouldn't cost but 20 dollars and a few hours of putting that characters voice on all the lines from it... Its like its there already why not use it so I agree but only on character that already have a voice on atleast 1 line in the game. You don't need the person sitting there any more to voice every line in the game when you have the voice you can run it through a program on any line given.

As for forth on golden saucers note what would make it 100x better is if the mini games gave something outside MGP maybe like secret glamors for example monster toss could give a blitzball glamor for summoners or something. Would also be extremely nice if we could earn gil at some of the spots mini games and spend gil there to like real gambling lol. Another thing that would make it better is if it added secret unlocks for glamor skills one example is turning flamethrower into rockets or water blaster lol this would solve alot of proplems of missing stuff on jobs feeling compared to other ffs. Lets me be honest when I play black mage on any ff I rarely use fire or blizzard unless its a battle I have no choice on my go 2 spells are Bio and Water on most fights (that would go in this game btw) the ones I really use are Break and death mostly lol I'm lucky and it normally works for me outside ff8 lol

Thats untrue there was a case where a addon for wow (until they banned its use) did it perfect and it was made by a outside team without any incoming money lol. Yes if they rush it it would screw with the synthetic but if they take there time it wouldn't at all lol not to the noticeable ear unless the person is in a band playing instruments it goes unoticed lol

Also ps you don't even need voice actors any more alot of programs can create real voices just by pitch,tone and depth scales lol

Yeah, that's why every Hollywood movie uses it for dubbing for non English speaking consumers... ...oh, wait.

It is true that after ARR it gets better up until current expansions.

But what of new players? The game is heavily story based. I managed to read most of the narratives for MSQ and blue quests. Coming in knowing that it is very story driven.And I myself , am fairly new . And i quit so many times because it became a chore to have to read read read ..if they had voice acting to begin with , why not keep having it. why cut off on so many dialogue. sounds to me like lazy work...
The story is freaking good, but the reading and reading makes it a pain in this generation. and it sucks because the story actually make you more connected to the world. Sure many quest are tedious as well but if they make going through the Narratives tedious too , that's like doubled the amount of tediousness.
I asked so many of my friends to come play , and join in the game ...and when i told them about it and that it's story driven , story is really good but you have to read a lot...that directly became a turn off.
So to sum it short, in this generation, the lack of voice acting in MMOs can easily be a turn off, especially if its a story driven mmo.

I mean FF14 is as popular as ever ..over 18 million players sure, no body is denying that the game is great. I just feel it can be even better and easier for new comers to get in the game ; not just Final Fantasy fans but people looking for a good mmorpg to play and never really dived in a final fantasy game before.


Another point is Remastering some textures and graphics is very doable. to keep up with today's standard. it really is just some of the environments that needs remastering.

And of coarse , there are many other things that can make the game better and should be priorities if you look at it from veteran player's point of view. but I am mainly aiming at new player or noobs like me trying to hold on and keep playing the game. Sometimes all that is needed is to just make it look and feel a little bit fresh again..that why i mainly mention voice acting or voice over or whatever...and Graphical upgrades ( textures of the ground, foliage, environmental textures, add some more better weather effects,...etc ) pretty sure nowadays technology and hardware should permit it.

the jump potions are always there if people can't be bothered to play for the story.

Remastering textures could be doable yes but is it cost efficient/worth the time to take away from the regular updates the game gets? there will 100% be longer delays in between patches to accommodate for this. i don't think most people will go for that.

One thing thats more of a quality of life thing is fix the tank stance so it does not disable when you level sync I forget to turn it on every time I get synced and honestly its really stupid it removes it upon level sync lol

Personally, I want more meaningful open world content in future expansions outside of FATE's and Hunts.

I agree that working on upgrading graphics in some capacity would be beneficial to the game going forward, even if they just added optional high resolution textures and HDR.

Level sync does that with all abilities though - it's to keep level sync relevant by not being able to 'cheat' it having access to abilities and spells that aren't normally available at that level (SE did the same thing with FFXI when level sync was introduced there too).

For instance the GLA/PLD tank stance Iron Will was originally gained at a much higher level when it was called Shield Oath (early 40s if I remember rightly) and thus at the time it was probably just easier to have level sync deactivate all buffs by default as a fail-safe every time lvl sync was activated than having the game manually check to see if that ability was available to be used at the level of that content, a time consuming and complex thing to implement, so it's little wonder they went with the easier option.

Hence I don't see them changing this I'm afraid.

make crossbreeding available to everyone and not just those lucky enough to own 50 houses

Sorry but when i read this, its clear to me you're not qualified to even suggest ideas for the game.

No, they can't "easily add voice acting" - That would as others have pointed out, cost a LOT of money. The game already uses non-Union voice actors (I think?) So they're already paying seemingly out of pocket for the mediocrity, simply for consistency from 1.x/2.x

If you have a problem with reading, then don't, its as simple as that.

No, new players dont quit early because of a lack of voice acting, that's just stupid, its because it takes 2-3 months of playing 12 hours a day to go from lvl 1 to lvl 80 story, not because 2/3rds of the cutscenes don't have voice acting - That's like saying nobody reads books because they don't have pictures.

Add better textures to characters- like elezen or the highlander & midlander

Allow face players to have access to more than one facepaint at a time

Improve the housing decor system. People shouldn't have to glitch through or bug their houses just to get a nice look when placing decor.

Increased housing items limit.

More hairstyle contests- the current hairstyles are either all short or too lackluster- Several NPC's still have hairstyles that are inaccessible so no more exclusive NPC glamours that literally look better than anything players have access to.

Release outfits that belong to female characters from past ff games and not just males. (or more than just lightning)

I'd like a little dialogue option to flirt with Thancred/Urianger/Y'shtola/Aymeric just to see the reaction lol
