Housing demolition should be suspended on Election Day

I think it might be a good idea to temporarily suspend the housing demolition mechanic for those American fans who might have bigger things to worry about on Election Day than XIV, it'd be horrible for them to finally come back after perform their civic duty to find out they lost their house in game through no fault of their own.

Housing demolition should be suspended until your forum posting rights are permanently revoked.

You are ignoring people who are very busy and don't have time to play the game. What if I planned to not play the game for 44 days and then realize I have to vote on the 45th day? Then my house will be permanently lost even though I didn't do anything wrong.

But you did do something wrong. You confused not playing with not logging in and entering your house, which is all it would take to keep your house for another month or so.

Instead always talking about demolition all the time. They should be asking when they going to make it so your alts share the same housing as your main character does.

If we ever need to suspend a demolition of housing a single day for the day a single country does a single thing, we might as well just suspend demolition on Queen Elizabeth’s birthday.

I'm not 100% sure how election goes in the U.S. but I'm guessing it's a single day like in most countries.

So you have around 40 or so days until your house is gone.
Person that goes voting can go enter their house the day before election day and then enter their house again the day after election day.

Problem solved? (if there ever was a problem)

FF14 makes a bigger impact on my life than casting a vote on the next Wealthy Elite Talking Head, who goes vacationing in Vale with the other party's Wealthy Elite Talking Heads, but only pretends to have moral-policy disagreements with them when in the public eye.

You do realize you can elect to vote by mail? I've been doing that since 12 years ago. It's great.

maybe a good idea, people will be so triggered by the results that they have to once again go outside and just cry and yell for a long time.

Election day is ONE day. It takes 45 days to lose your house to auto-demolition. If a player cant log in within 45 days when there is no natural disaster/war/etc affecting their ability to do so, that seems like its on them. Not Square.
That said, while this is clearly a troll thread, a good many of the comments in here are rood with no provocation.

I dunno, maybe the fact that the cartels are shooting everyone?

Regardless of whether it's a troll, it'll be a nice gesture for Square Enix as everyone is voting today.

In case everyone has forgotten, housing demolition has already been suspended since March because of Covid and SE typically takes forever and a day to turn it back on again(it had only just been turned on again after being suspended for several months because of a bunch of natural disasters).

I wouldn't expect to see it back on before 5.45 at the earliest. Probably closer to 5.5.
