[Suggestion] Job mounts!

I was having a discussion with an FC friend about my recently unlocked battle panther and how it compared to the other tank only mounts and the unicorn.

I got to thinking why don't other jobs get mounts for long time playing? The tank mounts do take a while without dedicated grinding.

So I thought I'd suggest some mounts for the other jobs...well strictly speaking they aren't mounts, but they could be pretty cool ones to show off our character's growth in power and ability with our jobs.

Healers:

White mages- Angelic Grace: whms can form their temperance into actual Angelic wings like those on Alexander Prime or Kuribu

Scholars- Seraphic Transmutation: Sch temporarily enhance the link with the fairy and take on Seraphic wings. Optional- gain minium so they are the size of said seraph Alternative: Carried by Seraph

Astrologian- Solar Wind: The Ast floats along on one of their large cards (the kind that display upon drawing) with the others and or space objects providing anti gravity lift.

Ranged:

Bard- Song of flight: The Bard plays a song that weaves light and music together into flight, creating a magic carpet esque effect they fly along on that looks like magic music sheet lines made of light.

Machinist- Jetpack, flight unit...I really don't need to explain the endless ways a machinist with tons of gadgets could fly

Dancer: Dancing in the air- The dancer performs a spectral song that allows them to fly through the air as though on a stage performance. The dancer holds their chakrams in different positions to adjust flight

Caster:

Summoner- Garuda's flight: Summoner taps into their Garuda egi and uses its Aether to ride the wind

Black mage- Comet surf: Black mage forms a small meteor that they stand on top and surf on. The black mage has enough magic power to hold the meteor together even while its on the ground

Melee:
Dragoon- Dragon wings: Nael's, possessed Estinien... something like those

Ninja- Wind release: The ninja performs a slightly different variant of Huton and combines it with their smoke tools in order to form two wind currants they can glide through the sky on.

Monk- Lightning charge: The monk expends their greased lightning as a tether, to pull themselves through the air with aetherial energy (Ie, something like superman or dragon ball flight)


Unfortunately I can't think of one for either red mage or samurai...
what do you all think?
If there's any other mount ideas you guys can think of, post them! the community here has some great ideas.

I mean, the reason tanks get those mounts is to give people an incentive to play tanks more often.

Technically speaking WHM already has a mount aswell - or Conjurer does: The Quest to obtain the Unicorn is only unlocked by leveling conjurer to 30, which again was added to motivate players to level that class (which was especially important at the start of ARR because conjurer was the only healer for the first 30 levels until arcanists could become scholars).

Its not that I dont agree with your ideas - even though I wouldnt be intrested in any of them - but more so to explain why it is that tanks get special treatment here. At this point I feel like healers probably deserve it more, but for dps... nope. Mounts are a great way to get people to do stuff they wouldnt normally do, so they're better used as rewards for content or playing content with a certain job that benefits the community. DPS-players are a dime a dozen already, theres no need to add extra motivation to play those jobs. While I can understand that job-specific mounts would be cool, I really dont think they should use ressources on locking them behind playing a role that is already been played by the majority.

I like your ideas, but not necessarily as incentives like tanks receive and healers probably deserve. Maybe it could be achievement like "kill x amount of enemies of equal level as <insert job here>". To me that would be a bit better and it would fit the dps roles perfectly while not messing with other incentives.

I had felt perhaps a sort of license board (FFXII), sphere grid (FFX/XIII) type merit board could be a fun way to spend unused exp. In a strictly glamour speaking sense (no combat stat influence).

So say your dragoon wings could fit into that. On dragoon I thought it might be a bit of a goof / toy if dragoon was able to unlock hyper jump movement- so the 'mount' checks if you have flying unlocked and if you do then it lets you make great leaps as one would expect a dragoon to be able to do.

I think then it would also help keep the tank encouragement since that'd be an aside to this system. Of course there would be other things in the board / grid, armors, emotes, special changes ability glamours perhaps (like dark knight getting HW's dark smokey aura effect), etc.

Also just wanted to say in my imagination the bard mount is pretty neat looking, musical notes hugging the bard as they play :D.

to clarify, I didnt mean identical methods precisely of obtaining the mount, but more the concept of other jobs getting some.

Anything that stops the washing-out of the professions we have is appreciated.
This is an excellent idea, really! When I read "[Request]", I thought it's Theodric's spam again, but then I saw it's not him and voilá, a quality suggestion thread!

Yes, I think actually DPS deserve it first for equality, and second, as you should know: DPS are the ones that suffer the most. Last time I was in the outdoor Castrum Run (as Scholar) and there were two newbies and the "New player" message. Tank left, healer left. Other tank left. I left, then, too. The rest: 4 doomed DPS. They waited "> 30 minutes" just to wait another ">30 minutes" because of selfish and pampered Healers and Tanks. And DPS are also the ones that don't get the "auto commendation" either. We need to stop that really. Without the damage, the tanks and healer die as well, so talking down damage dealers is really a bad mindset.

You completly missed my point - those long dps-queues are exactly the reason that people need an incentive to play a tank or healer over a dps-job. Those long queues exist because so many people are already playing dps and so little are playing tanks and healers, which is why there is a carot in place to get people to play jobs that might not be their first choice.
I'm sorry if I came off as "talking down damage dealers", which wasnt my intention. I merely tried to explain why there doesnt need to be extra incentive for people to pick those jobs over tanks/healers: The majority of people is already doing that. If you dont like waiting 30+ minutes for your dps-queue to pop, its in your best intrest that tanks and healers get special rewards - instead of adding incentives for people to pick a dps-job.

Leave the randomly sprouted wings, and levitation to korean f2p mmos and super hero games.
Let our adventurers be a little more grounded (literally)

long dps queues are because too many people playing dps. hence the incentive for tanks to do content to get mounts.

Yep, there's enough silliness in the game already without going all Revelation Online. I must admit, though, that a MCH jetpack does sound cool. But I'd rather just have the jetpack in the game as a reward tied to something other than one's job. As others have said, DPS's don't need additional incentives at this point.

Once your conjurer is level 30, go to Braya in Old Gridania and accept the "Unicorn Power"-quest to, well, befriend a unicorn!

I'd love to see some job themed mounts. Even if it was just for getting them to 80, or something.

Always thought it was weird that only WHM has a class mount. Not counting the "please tank dungeons!!!" achievement mounts. :P

Always wanted a mount for each job ! Sure tanks got their own and WHM got one (sortof) but I'd love to see the other ones get one too.

Could use something with fairies for SCH, perhaps the big toad we summon as Ninja, something like that.

Jobs will get a mont when no one wants to play it and SE doesn't know how to fix it. See: healer in ARR, tanking, and especially BLU.

I personally don’t see a reason to give DPS mounts, and here’s why.

The reason tank mounts are a thing is because they’re meant to be incentives to incentivize players to queue into content as a tank because there was a significant enough lack of people playing the role—DPS jobs don’t need any incentives like this because there’s no shortage of people that would rather play a DPS job over a tank or healer. We’re a dime a dozen. The CNJ unicorn mount was meant to be an incentive to play the class back in ARR. They weren’t arbitrarily rewarded to those 4 jobs/1 class while the rest of the jobs/classes were ignored; they’re incentives and shiny carrots on a stick. The same is the case for the BLU Morbol Mount.

Healers deserve incentives more than ever after what’s happened to them in Shadowbringers. I’d be all for healer mounts.

Have one's forgot Blue Mage got its own mount now the malboro mount. Why shouldn't other classes now get there own mounts to. Maybe if they added a mounts for healer classes I would have gone back to healing. There's no incentive for me to ever be healer again.

The BLU Mount is an incentive to do content on BLU. Just like the tank mounts are an incentive to do content on tanks. They’re carrots dangling off of a stick—something DPS jobs don’t really need. I can agree on incentives to play healers, especially given all the backlash about their design philosophy for the role in ShB; but the DPS are not in dire need of players to fulfill the role.

Raubahn arm mount! I mean like. He's not using it anymore! It could have little thrusters or a propeller built into the wound cavity!
