How MNK's hold their weapons...

So, I've been playing since HW, and one thing that's always bugged me about MNKs is how we hold our weapons; the fingers just never fully wrap around the weapon handle. Personally, this is why I prefer weapons that completely cover the hand so you don't have to suffer this eyesore. We already know the WoL can form a fist - they punch it into their other hand ALL. THE. TIME.

It's nearly 2020. Please give us actual fists :(

But then what would we have to look forward to in 8.0? The most basic of mitigation for clipping issues? *Guffaw* That expansion isn't going to sell itself, not without those withheld basic design improvements.

The Emperor's New Fists still has the same issue that the OP is talking about. They don't turn your fists into actual closed fists, they essentially make your hands look like you're "gripping" onto some kind of invisible weapon handles.

This times a million. The gauntlet type weapons too have these invisible grips, even though with those they had a chance to just replace it with a fist model. As petty as it is, this is one of the major reasons I rarely play monk.

Yeah, the Emperor's New Fists (conceptually) would've been really cool (would work nicely with lots of gloves), but like Nezerius and Lersayil said, the issue of the almost-closed-fist remains. Saw on r/ffxiv yesterday a thread about nerfing the NieR bottoms. They can fix that issue, but they can't fix monk's fists? haha

Holy! You may have just hit a gold mine. That'd be amazing! If monks hands changed based on whatever form they're currently in. Maybe changing just the hands might not be the best way to visualize it (esp if people have gauntlets/claws/etc); but maybe change how monks hold themselves? For example, for opo-opo, could maybe emulate drunken-style kungfu?

Something like that’d be nice, if a bit optimistic. Ya don’t really stay inna form fer long enough, but maybe it’d be cool if it changed autos durin’ that time...Of course, probably not gonna happen. It might make more sense ta attach big changes like that ta stances...Ya know, if they mattered.

Maybe the closest we’d hope is forms gettin’ a consistent theme...Ya kinda get that with Opo-opo attacks all bein’ a flurry. Ehm, except the AoE. Four Point Fury would probly fit better.

I dunno why people use those fist to be honest as it doesn't fix the issue.. PLUS our hands are WAY too small. It's why on my monk I use the big gloves from the ARR monk outfit. Cause otherwise .. yeah I can't deal with how small our hands are by default. It looks off.

Maybe the kettle is just too hot for you to fully wrap your hand around.
