I haven't seen any discussion of this but this morning I was in Eureka Anemos and amazed to see that I could easily solo mobs at or near my level solo. In addition I found that you can ride a mount upon entry and clearing the initial quests which allows for getting around so much easier. I easily opened the entire map being able to out run mobs with ease. The two Aethers appear to still be level 9 but getting to 9 doesn't seem that much of a challenge from what i can see.
There was a group of about 15 to 20 in zone and they had spawned two NM's while I was there and were calling for help to spawn Pazu.
I can't say too much more given I've only gotten my alt to almost level 5 where I stopped given i want to play with another friend and she wasn't available this morning.

Depending on your job its always been possible to solo mobs near or at your level, specially at low levels - the question would mainly be: How long does it currently take to solo said mobs? I doubt any of those mobs would be able to kill a healer, paladin or RDM (and maybe to an extend the other tanks) as long as the person playing throws out the occassional healing-spell... so the question is only how long it takes to kill said mob and even more so: How much fun are you having...?
I'd be willing to award them points for doing away with the mount-restriction, hadnt that restriction not been a pretty stupid idea in the first place... -

They've added echo to the zone when 5.1 was released. The echo is almost over 100%, since I remember my HP being 35K ish and now it's around 70K. They also stated that you no longer need to finish the story of a zone to be able to mount.
With all of that, it's pretty easy now to solo spawn NMs and solo them. And if you have the elemental gear from Hydatos, it will get even easier to kill mobs. -

But that's from Pagos cold boxes, which you can only obtain from mobs of equal or higher level than you when they mutate. The ones you have now from Anemos can drop the T rex mount, red mage barding and furniture items. So the nerf they did back in SB for them still applies to them.Quote:

There is plenty enough group content at the core of the game (raids, dungeons, trials), and always a good incentive to do other things in a group (speed & efficiency), that I don't think it would hurt the game's social aspects if they were to open up other content for solo play.
To be honest, forcing me into group content doesn't really promote my participation in the social aspects of the game anyway. I always end up leaving Free Companies because I get sick of the inane/obscene chatter filling up my chat window along with invitations to join Discord, and the other players I join up with through DF mean less to me than the NPCs in my squadron and trusts. I know "this is an MMO," but socialising ain't necessarily the appeal it holds for all of us, and giving us worthwhile content to solo—even if it's old content—is going to aid our investment, not harm it. -

You know, I also had the intention of giving Eureka another try after I left off with Pagos upon it's release. Found it somewhat more manageable to solo and liked that I could use the mounts right off the bat... but then I got ganked by a max level dragon, lost 150k exp, and noped on out of there.

I'd probably say the only things the system really needs at this point is to make leveling far less reliant on FATE pops, removing the level reqs on the ports, expanding the level difference for getting drops of the zone bosses, and introducing a few more trading options. Being fresh to any of the zones sucks because you don't have the teleports and pretty much everything can eat you if you're not careful, so I wouldn't say it's surprising to see people holding onto their challenge log to try and push through those initial phases as quickly as possible. Otherwise, it's just hoping there's an NM training willing to take you in.

Personally, I hated Pyros more than Pagos. Players getting ganked by dragons just aren't paying attention to aggro types. Pagos was definitely a terrible layout. But I hated how many mobs were packed into Pyros. Hydatos was so much nicer with things being more spread out.
While I'd love to call for more nerfs, I may reserve judgement until I can get into a few BA frag runs or something, to upgrade gear and get about as powerful as you can in there. Maybe with some more upgrades, more of Eureka may be soloable. If it's still frustrating doing any of the high-level stuff on my own, yeah, it'd be nice if level caps were raised or something.
Also, the challenge log. Would love to see it change to something besides exp once you hit max level. After that, the log may as well be deleted, for all the good it does. That said, probably difficult to code it to reward current-zone crystals or something. -

Maybe just me but I'd like to see the exp loss on death removed, or perhaps have exp on death OR corpse walking as an option. . . Like in WoW or Dark Souls (and many other games) where you have to return to your body for X reason. Perhaps more like Dark Souls to remove the WoW comparisons, so you can lose your exp when you die but get it all back if you return to the site of your body.
That and I'd also like to see reward reductions based on level concept greatly reduced (far lesser punishment for outleveling content, not needing to delevel yourself).
Some other random thoughts might be being able to (optionally) take Trust / squadron in there rather than have the area take in other players (because the more players the more content scales, and honestly at some points I'd just prefer if things didn't scale and I could just have a fixed set of buddies I'd know be with me doing whatever I do). "point of Eureka was to be oldschool rpg emphasis on the old school group and punishments" . . . "well yeh that's what I didn't do it when it was out, I didn't care for that experience- but I'd do Eureka if it was less and less like that" (example being I leveled a bit since the echo boost). -
