[Request] Underwear Customisation!

Hello!

I doubt that I'm the only one who wishes that they could change the underwear worn by their character. Could we please have a broader range of underwear to choose from, or at least gain the ability to dye what we have already?

Why would it be an issue? I'm not into women, though I don't screech at the sight of scantily clad viera/miqo'te/au ra when I happen to encounter them in a roulette or out in the game world.

I'd respectfully suggest that instead of denying people who like men their own eye candy you instead spend time addressing such insecurities.

What they could do is a sort of sub glam feature where you can glam your small clothes (the underwear) with gear similar to that, like all the bikini wear for instance.

It'd be really great if they could just separate skirts from stockings. I'd love to be able to use Thavnairian tights with the skirt of light for example.

We had customizable underwear in 1.0 (they were specific 'small clothes' slots that added nothing to stats but were simply glamour - the 'hempen' sets originally were equipped in these slots, as was the Moonfire Faire swimwear). Needless to say, seperate underwear equipment slots were scrapped in the change over to ARR and the gear that formerly was equipped there was changed to normal gear but for glamour purposes only. So like visible equippable belts, I do not see SE bring them back I'm afraid.

Yes, male characters especially could use a whole new selection of briefs and boxers!

Are you telling me that I'll be required to change my underwear now?! The last time I did, it caused the sixth umbral calamity.

I get it. The underwear we have now is a little yellow to hide the pee stains.

I just wish we could dye them, they are such an ugly white.

Tera online added a armor slot just for underwear. There is all sorts of them to pick from and they give a defense boost. Maybe they could get rid of extra ring and make that slot for under garments.

This is a public forum and i can say whatever i want as long as it's within the TOS. It's my opinion and if i don't wanna see something, then i don't want to see it. If that's how you roll, then you do you. And i respectfully suggest you respect others opinions instead of chastising them on it.

It's discriminatory. Why would you have an issue with scantily clad male characters but not scantily clad female characters?

Dyable would be great.

Even if you don't plan on showing them off, there are still plenty of cutscenes and mount animations featuring upskirt shots that could benefit from some dye.

I don't like seeing scantily clad roes either. But ultimately, it's up to each individual player to decide what to put their character in. If someone wants to play a scantily clad roe, that's their perogitive not mine and I can just not stare at them when I come across them. And in duties I have enough to focus on doing my rotation and mechanics etc as is that I don't have the time to care or even notice what people are wearing in the moment.

This is the plus side of chests with skirts on them, they let you use the pants slot for swimsuit bottom glam (or other not-pants like the female rathalos bottoms)

Archeage is fun as you have several styles of undies you can choose from. You have your default (which varies per race), and then you can choose different bra/undies or one pieces. I'm not sure how it looks on the guys though. Surprisingly most people in that game wear proper oufits. :p

This was a 1.0 feature that didn't make it to 2.0. Although it was nice and added a deeper level of roleplay.

I heartily agree we could use more options...

And as mentioned, the hempen styles are basically our unerwear style.
Thus we should have them all available!

I mean, Viera already uses the Hyur style of hempen (because Viera is unfinished enough that they didn't get their own (probably the same for Hrothgar too)

The fact that most gear never gives you the slightest hope of ever seeing underwear really makes this feel like a troll post.

Maybe for conservative male characters, but my sister was commenting endlessly about all the upskirt shots she was getting on her female hyur during the cutscenes in ShB. "They clearly didn't test these on female characters wearing skirts... or they did and they're just perverts. Every time I kneel down it's just wide open."

On my male miqo, who is wearing just a normal robe and a standard ankle-length caster skirt underneath for BLM, I was getting full panty-shots flying on some of my mounts just holding W.

Even if "most gear" doesn't, a lot of people use the gear that does, lol. And even if you're just in a normal robe, underwear happens.

If him saying he wants to see less skimpy roes is "discriminatory" then you saying you want to see more is also discriminatory because you're ignoring the opinions of others in the way you're accusing him of. Don't be a hypocrite.

Roegadyn don't even do anything for me. I think they're way too oversized, comically so in fact. Though it doesn't bother me if people want to run around as scantily clad roegadyn and reading between the lines it's pretty clear what the real issue is in these sorts of one sided cases.

Sounds like personal hangups to me. Not a really good place to cast judgment from.

Pretty sure Yoshi already said no to this, saying it would be too hard because the underwear isn't gear, it's just the naked character model.

They'd need to completely change the way being naked works, and it's already easy to just glamour other underwear-looking things over it. Changing it doesn't really serve a purpose since there's no reason to take your gear off. If you want to RP taking off your clothes you can just switch from pants gear to a swimsuit bottom or subligar.

No, it is not. You're being a hypocrite. You're telling someone they're being a bigot because they want to see less of something. There is nothing bigoted or discriminatory about that. But if you're going to maintain that there is, then it is equally discriminatory to want to force others to see what you want to see. Hmm.... Hmm.. Amateur judge here in my armchair.. I have read over this line of conversations. The lalafell only said he didn't like roe butt cheeks, replying to a male roe, he didn't necessarily mean all males. It could be misconstrued as meaning all males, but most definitely the entire race, or male gender, of roes should feel discriminated against for being judged for showing off their short legs and flat behind!

He didn't call anyone a bigot, though; he just said it's discriminatory to be okay with it for one gender, and not for the other, which it often is in this situation since it tends to coincide with a fear of all things LGBT. It's still a pretty common insecurity.

That said, as a girl that likes cute lingerie: undergarment equip slots are super underrated. :( I wish more games had them.

I never really put much thought to it. I guess I just can't think of many reasons to strip my character totally down that this would be an issue for me, and even if I did there are plenty of top and bottom combinations that can be dyed that I could use to simulate having different kinds of undergarments. I am not sure how many options males have in this regard, but there's quite a few to choose from for the ladies. I suppose the downside to that is that I can't choose another leg and body slot to wear over those selections.

I don't think it is an outlandish request, but seeing it in future patch notes would have a lot of players scratching their heads thinking, "Did we really need this?" It would probably have to come along with a complete CC overhaul. Perhaps a time will come where they will feel they need to.

I agree with this (bias be bias), but wanted to add that I think under solo play circumstances there is nothing wrong with discriminating (man that's a Boogeyman word to use lol, feels funny saying it but stick with me XD). Like if I only install huge male argonian muscles and fine Spears mods in Skyrim. Adding to the works of Crassius Curio- not ever updating the other choices. Heck maybe even removing all the other race/options from the game. Whatever, my game my rules. Lol. But since this is a multiplayer game discrimination impacts like chocobos smells. At the end of the day we'll have to have some discrimination in multiplayer but hopefully it suits the game and it's players well (or at least SE does have to make these choices- not so much us particularly, because resources are not infinite). I suppose that's one of the reasons why I try to actively avoid being SE's finical arbiter lol- a. I'm obviously not so it's a bit silly but also b. I don't want to actively kill someone else's enjoyment if I can help it / easily ignore it. (Also nuance / not threatening on asking for things and bla blah but that's for a different post lol).



Certainly selfishly the game could be designed to every bias I have and no other, but then only those exactly like me would play... Not a very good business strategy unless you're going for niche from the onset like some games and media do (like how games are for certain types of players or media made for certain perspectives/desires). Maybe a bit obvious but easy picking example would be adult content, exclusive preferences are okay (bias).



Just wanted to say having bias isn't necessarily bad, and even using it isn't always bad, but it of course it /could/ be bad / annoying to someone lol. Like if I love airships but someone else thinks they are a waste of resources, obviously people tend to have more on the line personally with outfits and all that expression stuff but I thought that airships be a neutral example.



Anyway men and women in undies, the same undies even, is fine with me- but if someone gave me keys to the castle and said do you want either lingerie on men or player owned physical airships... I'd not think twice on picking the later. At the same time very rarely are things presented as / actually that simple (and I try not to play that either or game). Ideally I'd just say I don't really care for the first but if there is enough demand... Why not both?

I want to say that when the Hempen set question got asked and confused with the underwear we see everyone wear when nude the answer was they couldn't because it's like grafted to the skin or something. So even though I'd like it if each race didn't have the same boring underwear you wouldn't be able to change it out as there's no slot for it now unlike 1.0 where the hempen sets were the underwear and had slots for them.

Throw in my support for at least being able to dye the things. The white stands out like a floodlight against my character's dark skin, and as others have pointed out, flashes do happen unless you glamour very conservatively. I'd rather those flashes be a bit more subdued.
