Epic Crossovers You Like That Will Probably Never Happen

So basically, this whole thread will be revolving around FFXIV collab events with franchises/properties/whatever that will probably never happen. As a way to promote discussion, kindly do more than just name the franchise in question and just leave it at that.

My pick is "Gloryhammer". The power metal band that parodies power metal yet has a really good storyline behind it regardless. I would love to see this happen, but I realize that Gloryhammer isn't really "big" enough to have a major crossover event with Final Fantasy.

I'm wanting to see it happen to the point where I got bored and half-designed an Alliance Raid centered around Gloryhammer's first album.

I want the Maxx as a mount.

Oh wait..

No seriously, I don't want to see anymore crossovers. I think it's sad that they have to provide content from dev teams outside of our game. :/

Dark souls

Persona series (Especially P5S)
I honestly think the personas could be great to see as mounts, minions and glamour pieces.
And the palaces in the series could totally be an alliance raid or dungeon.

All those would be awesome (since we're doing cross overs that'd never happen, I want the 'job', Harmonixer, from Shadow Hearts / Devil Trigger from DMC lol).

Also want to add Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Praise the sun emote, sunlight spear (I really feel like the lightning spear could be a Paladin skill, perhaps an upgraded shield lob or something), and some of the awesome armors like Artorias' Set, Ornstein, etc.

I was thinking more of the weapons and armor lol- I imagine you are talking about that building theme from the one old building / church section around the boss everyone flips the circles wrong and ultima (which does have a little bit of a similar feeling, I wouldn't say it's a cross over though).

A Blizzard event could be neat, Frostmourne and Lich King armor would be wild lol. Doomhammer... XD.. Not sure Blizzard would part with such important pieces though. Personally I've nothing against Blizzard (in terms of the potential content they could share), but I imagine some people here having a minor riot and table flipping competition if that happens.

I want some little blocky farm animal minions and a creeper. Funny but true, I would collect them all and they'd get more use than any of my Yo-kai Watch minions.

Chronotrigger (New Raid going through past, present, and future)
Secret of Mana (I want a Flammie Mount)
Bravely Default (Give us Catmancer as a class)
Another MHW crossover giving us Gunlancer as a class
Mario (Because the internet hasn't gone far enough yet with that crown mushroom power up. Also square had a hand in Super Mario RPG.)
Xenoblade Chronicles (Any game in that series would be good)
The FFXIV half of the PSO2 collab they did years ago. PSO2 got fun FFXIV related stuff. Bring us rappies and dark falz.
Pokémon (You know you totally want to catch 890 new minions :P)
Monster Rancher (Dust off all your CD's, DVDs, and Blu-Rays. Its time to start popping them in and out of your disc drive to see if any have a rare monster :P)
Rabbids (Because... rabbids… We could have one down a 2 liter of soda in 5 seconds then blow the restored ishgard area away with a thunderous belch to reset it letting people rebuild it again.)

Too true.

At this point it's almost a matter of, "How can you have a crossover from something which is itself mostly just a nexus for crossovers, throwbacks, and references?"

I'd far prefer original content over yet another crossover.

Considering we got the one I've always wanted and thought it'd never happen. *Hugs Rathalos mount* I'd definitely not object to something like an Iceborne cross-over that gave us a World Boss level F.A.T.E. featuring Deviljho, Rajang, Valkhana or Shara Ishvalda. Especially if they gave us weapons - Valkhana or Ishvalda style weapons would look absolutely stunning. Honestly, I just want to see 100+ people die to Savage Jho dragon beam / Furious Rajang lightning beam.

Street Fighter... Street Fighter Zero to be more detailed. SFV is BS a far as story and plot and SFIV killed ALL the story by bringing back Ryu's master cause he was - sleeping - in a grave for over 20 years. Yeah I'm still not over it.

And not gonna lie, I'd support a FFXIV cross WOW crossover.

A bit weird, I know - but there's potential. Plus, can you imagine a thousand catgirls running around in Ivy's glamour?

Horizon: Zero Dawn

A fight against a Thunderjaw. Different attack points(think Quarn HM first boss, takes reduced AoE damage for balance) where you can disable weapons, cooling cells and such.

Reward would be Aloy's armor, a Watcher minion and either a Charger/Strider/Broadhead mount.

Can any of these just be crossovers "in spirit", as in trying to capture something great some game did before and do it in there own way here?

At that point, I'd have tons I'd love to see. I'm just tired of using other games so often in place of this one fleshing out its own core and allowing it complacency with what it has instead of trying to go further.

If "throw more money at it" isn't a feasible solution for the game as a whole, it would at least make sense that development time remains with the game itself instead of some clashing involvement.

That's not to say that every crossover is similarly unfit -- the Monster Hunter crossover, for instance, fit surprisingly well and easily into the game, whereas the NeiR raid literally stuck a vast city in a mine because... -- but that fit should be a concern right alongside the individual attractiveness or short-term payoff of the crossover.

I'm an RPer and relating to the OP's desire, I once wrote a Gloryhammer inspired RP plot, which was dumb as hell. The plot was basically "Sea Unicorn Invasion of La Noscea". No Zargothrax though, just a character based off of Kanye West called Cosmo Kanye.

I also saw Gloryhammer at Wacken, Germany this year. After they summoned the Astral Hammer a thunderstorm happened not that long after and German law said they had to stop performing and the festival was closed for 2 hours for the storm to pass.

I genuinely blame Gloryhammer for this.

On a serious note. The game known as The World from .hack//sign.

This part would never happen but I to would like to see a single 'special' item not usable in dungeon, raids, ect. Sadly if one player has something, everyone needs to be able to have it at the same time. And I always loved how there were off server zones that, well I'm not exactly how they come about. But it's cool as hell.

A lot if what I would've listed has already been posted. I'd like to double down on PSO2 as a crossover though. Found myself checking out their emotes and outfits and I gotta say that they have some pretty nice things over there, especially the posing and dancing actions.

Anything without androids. Seriously.

I would have been happier if they chose one of the fantasy Nier games instead of Nier:Automata.

Automata isn't the only game in that franchise, and out of all of them, meshes together with FFXIV the worst.

Castlevania, even if only to get my two favorite all-time gaming composers together.

I used to think these two worlds just couldn't fit together, but after some of our collab events those clouds have cleared up a bit. The problem is Konami, even if SE wanted to do it.
