Hi
Ever since a week ago my frame limiter has stopped working correctly on borderless and windowed modes in dx11
For example locking it to 60 in 120hz locks it to 40
Or in 144hz if i lock it to 72 it locks it to 47 instead
This is only ocurring on ffxiv and no other games and I have tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling ffxiv, and resetting windows and no dice
Stuck with Rivia tuner at the moment

It does not
It occurs in borderless and windowed modes in dx11
For example, I can tell its happening straight from the login screen
As if i move my mouse around in windowed or borderless the framerate rapidly drops for a moment in response
While in full screen it stays the same

Could you try putting the FPS limit to "None" to see that helps?

That unlocks the framerate
and yes the issue doesnt occur with that set to none
But I would like to be able to lock my fps to stable rate
as that just means my fps runs on max and i have to limit via external software
It ran perectly for two years so id really just like to get to the bottom of why I can no longer lock it in borderless and windowed through the ingame client :)

Is there a constant FPS you are trying to get? Cold you put the frame rate limiter is set to " None", "60","30" and "15" and provide how FPS you get for each setting?

Yes I just want to lock it to the fps the frame limiter states it is locking at
On 144hz for example
Locking to 72: locks it to 47
Locking to 36: locks it to 27
On 120hz
Locking to 60: locks it to 40
Locking to 30: locks it to 22
Both refresh modes run at 120 fps about at none
And the locks function normally in full screen and dx9
This happens as in borderless and windowed mode
I have ran this game for 2 years in my 120 hz monitor with either a 72fps lock or 60fps lock and it worked just fine so i dont understand what is causing this
Tested other games and can lock framerates in borderless or windowed accordingly without drops
Additionally the options seem to work fine in my second 60hz screen or if i set my main screen to 60hz
But above that this happens
So the problem seems to be tied with the higher refresh rate or fps

Please double check and make sure that the graphics drivers are updated to the most current version. Would the same issue occur if the fresh rate was lowered to 60 hertz ? Are you able to try and reproduce the issue with a lower refresh rate along with locking the FPS? Can you also provide the steps that lead to the error ? Additionally, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Yes the graphics drivers are updated to the latest update
I have also tried rolling back drivers and reinstalling them to no result
Yes the issue occurs with any fps lock when the refresh rate is above 60hz
As soon as you try setting a lock it sets it below that value and it behaves like the window wasnt in focus in performance loss

The error just start
Nothing prompted that I could tell
I launched the game and the frame limiter was no longer working in borderless or windowed
The error occurs with any hz above 60hz
it works normally if the resolution is at 60hz or below
Please let me know if here is anything else I can send
I really just want to play the game since this has been happening for 2 weeks now

I don't know how much of a help it can be, but RivaTuner Statistics Server provides a third party frame limiter that works very well. I have my game set to Borderless Windowed, Uncapped Framerate in-game, and I have RivaTuner Statistics Server locking the framerate to 60.
