Really? Really? <Sigh>
small indie company, please understand.
You have a few options. Turn off names on everyone but friends. Set the number of displayed characters and items to minimum. Turn down your graphics when you enter there. Turn down how many characters are rendered at a time. Upgrade your graphics card. Buy a better computer. Turning off the names worked for me.
Apparently other servers are 'raiding' other worlds to participate in the fate that gives 500 scrps...So I don't think it has to do with graphics..? It's just full af there...should have made this with instances...or server locked
Can Square please server lock that area right now Leviathan has been invaded by Excalibur and you cannot even get in the crafting area. So other servers are blocking people from content on their own server.
lmao this whole thing is ridiculous
can't believe they didn't foresee a bunch of greedy scavengers clogging up the servers.
In a gacha game we would get compensation for this total failure of event, but in ffxiv we'll get an excuse
we spent our day farming to fill that gauge and now we can't do the event cause ppl from other servers that didn't even help made the instance full and the game isn't smart enough to make a new instance automatically.
I'm at work and will be for another several hours. From what everyone is saying this sounds like a total disaster though, from people who aren't on right now not getting to participate to allowing other servers to congest areas.... Hopefully even if they don't do anything to fix this patch the future portions of this will have some applied lessons learned.
...catsplaining.
To be fair, the reason gacha games have to compensate for everything is that if anyone ever misses the chance to get anything they could lose someone who single-handedly contributes 10% of their profits. Not possible for a similar situation to exist with FFXIV.
This is a serious problem. I mean, who thought this would be a good idea? No one wandering cares that they're preventing local people from participating. They're forming cross-world linkshells to coordinate the raids without caring at all that they might keep people from those worlds from being able to participate. This needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later, or this event is going to be missed by tons of people.
Also, why is it automatically 2 hours after? How about having it schedule sometime a few days later? Give people a chance to get here and do things.. some people have jobs and won't even get to participate at all.
Anyway, as an example, I'm on Sargatanas and people from other worlds on the datacenter are already raiding us because Jenova (which was about to pop) was full and you couldn't visit it. We have 35 minutes left. People from Sarg are going to be locked out, while many of these people have already participated on multiple worlds. This is not right.
I sure am glad SE allowed off-worlders to raid firmaments that aren't theirs. Currently watching a lot of folks from Jenova proclaiming in Shout that it "isn't their fault" we can't get in to our own area. Alright then, sure. >_>
Allowing wanderers into the Firmament was a huge mistake honestly.
People are publicizing when the concerted events are happening on each DC's servers which leads to people swarming in and camping out in the Firmament of other servers in advance.
The least they could do is make it so you can do Restoration turn-ins outside of the Firmament so you don't get locked out of participation completely if an event is coming up soon.
I just got home from work, I was really excited about taking part in this, but I cannot even get to the Firmament to finish the dang opening quest. Tons of people from Jenova and other servers blocking us out, and heck, there might even be too many people on Midgardsormr trying to participate in a limited zone, too.
I love you FFXIV team, I love this game, but please fix this.
I was in the Firmament but I couldn't even do a damn thing in there because the first thing that you're supposed to interact with never showed up on my screen and yet the other interactions all showed up. As a result, I didn't even get a chance to participate in the damned thing and lost out on the scripts.
People from Faerie and Gilgamesh were on Sarg saying that since they were blockaded out of their FATE it wasn't their fault they were blockading people out of ours.
That is SE for you they never plan ahead and never think about what might happen and adjust for it. Really wish they get new young blood to take over ffxiv then maybe wouldn't have all these problems.
This is the largest thread on Ishgard Restoration’s issues lets keep this one bumped, posting, and active since large threads tend to get dev response more than a bunch of small threads.
I'm not one to normally post on forums or even complain about things like this, but I'm angry about this. Missing out on your own server's ONE TIME EVENT because people are raiding your server for scripts and exp... I just wanted to experience this and now I feel I have to be in at least 30-45 mins before the event will start just to participate..
Yeah, the situation on Siren is simply ridiculous as of now. Wanderers in shout are mocking people and being overall less than nice, while the lag is unbearable and there were so many people I simply couldn't do anything, as the items on the ground didn't load on my screen.
I waited 30 minutes in complete crowd just to stand and watch as nothing happened around me.
Marvelous.
LF Instances or locking people to their own servers for the restoration project. I can't even get in to do the fate that I HELPED with. =_=
I really hoped that the restoration mechanism wouldn't end up something real-timey just like this, because it's an one time event. For what it looks like, the other servers will just continue spamming the fates day and night - and as others already stated, those who don't hog the game 24/7 will not only miss out a huge chunk on XP/scrips, but also probably eventual cutscenes that might occur for upcoming stages - exactly because those random spawned fate timers.
I actually thought that the restoration was server locked.
Amazed that it isn't, the server hopping is insane right now.
I feel like this would have been a lot better if there was a 24 hour window after completion of a server's restoration to do the fate once per character, after which you gain nothing from repeating it until the next leg is completed. That or you get to do the fate once every X number of turn-ins.
What needs to happen here is a complete lockout for wanderers from other servers to this area. That would be the simplest fix. With Balmung completing their stages within hours Mateus has become a full fledged congested area and like others, I have to work all day from this morning.
Sure the thought of others visiting from other servers is nice, but it is going to diminish the chance for server natives to participate in their own restoration. Being script vultures at this point is rather sad to see. And I can bet by the time I get home the stages will be complete on Mateus. It was so congested my friend sent a screen shot and character models only loaded 2 yards from him.
SE really needs to hot fix this for the later stages to block wanderers out, or perhaps give visiting players half or a fourth of what you would get for scripts if you're not on your home server, and 0 progress made on the visiting server's restoration.
Don't get me wrong, I do love that they're breaking down the walls between servers, however- I should be able to participate on my own server's restoration and not get backhanded by a hundred hungry Balmungians farming scripts on my puny server. What I am saying is, if they can't put instances in then at least give those who belong on that server first dibs on the restoration fate and kick the wanderers out. Or a better thought, make it so wanderers can't participate on my server. Christ, I moved to Zalera because it is small. Please let me enjoy its benefits.
If we are lucky or unlucky depending on perspective. We will be on super servers by the time next stage happens. The whole system is half super server half old system. Or the most likely no fix and pretend no issues.
Also a statement should have been made by now. But the great team that half these forums seem to worship strangely, have yet to respond. They will probably not respond. Their MO is any serious problem is ignored until it quiets down and the horde of adoring fans drowned out everything else.
The main thing I've learned from this is that the best place to AFK is Balmung's Firmament area.
Because we might as well just ratchet the nonsense up to 12, since it being at 11 hasnt really caused any changes.
(in all seriousness the fate is worth about 9 turnins, so its basically a waste of time if you wait around for an hour on another server and arent doing anything)
