I really love the 5.1 Summoner changes. I really have a lot of fun on Summoner now, and like the feeling of being strong again. Thank you to all the developers who made all of these awesome changes.

Its only "major" problem is Dreadwyrm Trance.
Now there's absolutely no reason to stay for its full duration, basically using its Deathflare ASAP.
Personally, I think Demi-Bahamut should've been integrated into it (similar to Firebird Trance).
Other than that, I (mostly) agree.
That said, I'm still waiting on proper Egi glamours for it (e.g. Ramuh-Egi)...
Me too. SMN also finally has our dps justification after waiting for so long.
I can finally feel my pet has some weight on the encounters and not just being fillers and the extra movement its nice
This is my biggest complaint as well. It just feels so superfluous and serves no point. Merge that bad boy into DWT, make our GCD's into something like a 1, 1, 1, 2 system where Ruin 2 is replaced by ruin 4 but doesn't use Further ruin stacks, and three uses of further ruin turns Ruin 3 into a GCD of Deathflare so we can keep that awesome animation.
Not saying it needs to be like that, but man Firebird Trance just feels so DAMN GOOD, and DWT and Bahamut just don't. I can put up with the rigid aetherflow mechanics and downtime punishments if both my major burst phases feel amazing.
I dont mind the changes, but finding a button layout and a rotation I'm comfortable with is driving me batty, T.T.
Personally I find the class to be rather clunky. I do not like the Egi Assaults being on the GCD considering they conflict with your Trance rotations.
They only conflict with Firebird Trance and Demi-Bahamut, the rotation has you use them in the 40s every minute around them. With a bit of practice, it really isn't so bad. EAs even as OGCDs still had similar limitations before.
@Eloah: Here's the first batch of UI examples as promised. We're in the process of updating everything rotation related for 5.10. Opener section is done, rotation is a WIP and Demis need an update.
Oh, you're from Akh Morning? Awesome work there, thank you. I tried SMN out since Patch 5.1. hit but I don't really know if I play it well. The rotations part is still in progress, yeah? Looking forward to it, I'm one of those who need pictures and text for better understanding. The rotation and opener videos at youtube are too fast for me as an beginner xD
Indeed! It's been my pet project (and pain) for 18 months now since I felt gdocs and Discord pins were too limiting. I recognise that players all learn through different means, so my wish to do the best to cover as many bases as possible.
Shadowbringers era has been a bit slow with how radically SMN changed, then I held off until we knew the impacts of the 5.10 changes with certainty. My fellow guide writers and I have been hard at work updating our materials. Soon(tm)

I am glad I am not alone in this.
It sounds like such a small change (from oGCD to GCD) for the Egi-Assaults but man does it change the whole rotation!

yeah didn't expect that as well.... but gosh im so glad - not about the dmg even tho its a welcome bonus - but for the first time in 4 years maining Smn it feels like a pet cls for once. Love the Egi switches which now make a lot more sense than before. (Using Titans shield a lot in NieR <3). PrePatch notes were like... "how dare u r taking my ogcds...!!!11" but like you said... it changed "everything" for me in feeling how it plays atm.
Last demand... gimme up2date egi glams - I would even pay for good ones at mogstation : /
edit: one of the best changes for me are the Bane adjustment(s) - its fun to face dng overmobs again =)
