2B Outfit's Body

First of all hey,

I believe others have noticed as well that the new outfit of 2B from Nier;Automata actually changes (at least for female characters) the body shape quite a bit.
The waist is smaller like a corset, the legs become a bit thinner around the thighs and which most probably seen the butt gets a different size and shape as well.

My thought now is, how the devs suddenly came to the idea that changing the body shape just for that outfit was necessary???
(I would love if in the future all the gear would slowly get updated to this body style and many others probably agree as well)

So what do you guys think about it?

Personally, am a fan of the bigger butt. Nice to not have a flat board back there.

Basically this. My character likes her added booty. She does not like pancake butt.

It's making all the female chars rather spicy

Yoko Taro takes butts very seriously and would not stand to have a glam based on one of his characters inaccurately represented.

Honestly, though, this outfit and the Viera leggings really serve to highlight how unnatural the usual appearance of backsides in XIV is. It's not even a matter even of sex appeal to me, it just looks...wrong and it makes me wish that at some point (Perhaps in a future expansion) they'd go back and redesign all of the existing leg armors to use the models on those pieces as the base.

Female miqo get super thin wrists while wearing the dress. Scary thin, actually.

Took years for us to get a good butt...even if it’s just a mesh. Makes me believe Yoshida is a bit bias towards the “flat pancake look”. lol Then again, in asian cultures, they tend to prefer smaller frames with no curves....whereas in the U.S we generally prefer curves and thiccness. :P

Wish it worked for lalas. They didn't really bother for us. We get basically a regular Tanga...

Problem with that it's too short. So you can't mix and match the other tops.

Not the first set that alters your body.
There's a PvP set that binds you so tight it seems to just take your breasts right off!

I'm just glad that all my fellow Au Ra, hyur, elezen, roe and miqo'te ladies finally get the booty justice they deserve.

Just the way the game works. Every item actually replaces the part of the character model it covers.
They imported the data from Automata and wanted to keep it as accurate as possible. Naturally the rear end factors into that because the item would look silly with the nonexistent Miqo'te butt. :D

The character mesh is swapped out with that of 2B's. That reason alone is why I wont wear it.

Au Ra has no apostrophe, but Miqo'te does.

It is somewhat interesting that it came a little after we requested a butt slider in the game.
Personally I'm more of a fan of the skindents on the thighs than I am the butt.

I hope the men get a piece that does this...

Uhm... no sliders, and it's not hard to alter all the current female meshes to have 'nice butts'(this is subjective anyway because there are different kinds of butt shapes...)

It's pretty much proof they could enhance the butts of characters in game and that any further excuses about textures are invalid. Not all bottom pieces really need enhancement such as this so logistically it should be possible as a side project that could be done over time.

I dont like this outfit at all sorry i dont buy it.
It has some really terrible mistakes on it.

Just like you said Tights are too thin, on female elezen boots looks comical.
The cutouts instead of being transparent are coloured mesh and i hate how the entire outfit change my character proportions.

The mesh bothers me too. It is clearly intended to be ‘flesh coloured’, but as with a lot of ‘flesh coloured’ things, it fails to account for the fact that not all flesh is the same colour.

Funnily enough my male aura pulls it off well - I've noticed his legs look a lot more 'thin' in the outfit he also looks like a contestant from Ru Pauls drag race with it XD

All hail Yoko Taro! The man truly feels the female body is a thing of great beauty that should be shown with pride and not hidden behind robes...

Folks cried and cried when their 1.X butts were lost. SE FINALLY gives them some kind of butt in the only way they probably can, and as usual... players cry foul, body shaming, etc. It doesn't matter what SE does. Someone is always going to take offense to it. Do we even HEAR ourselves? We sound like hypocrites when we demand things from SE.

I see nothing wrong with Ifalna's rear end... her tail is beautiful and plushy!

Not to sound weird, but I wish female Lalafells at least got the skindentation effect from the leggings. I understand butt size not being effected, but the thighs could have worked.

I for one see nothing wrong with how my miqo looks,
I certainly don't like how the 2b underwear looks on me. I sincerely hope SE doesn't do this on other gear.
