I'm sick of not having primal weapons on dancer.

I want more than just potd, hoh, and the few weapons that have a faint glow on them.

We don't have relics. We don't have anything that is worth crafting, and it is aggravating that I can't make my favorite primal lines into weapons to use for this job that I love so much.

Where's Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh and Leviathan? How about Geruda, King Moggle Mog, and Titan?

What about Bismark, Sophia, Sephirot, Nidhogg, Thordan, and Ravana? I'm so sick of this. Two different shades of red (potd), and one orange (HoH) isn't enough to go with all my glams. Those are all varieties of the color red. We didn't get anything new for 5.1 either.

This is just lazy.

GNB is in the same boat. It is sad that both jobs have so few options. All I can say is, the relics this expansion better be amazing.

If they are not im going to be so disappointed. Though I will be anyway because we likely won't have the final upgrades until 4.5. I really hope we don't go a full year without special weapons.

Last expansion the new jobs had weapons, so perhaps eventually but later in the expansion.

I'd love to see garuda chakrams on my dancer. But yeah we have to respect the fact SE doesn't have the resources atm for this. Its probably on their to-do list but further down.

As well as adding other games' content to this game, or (and I think this is sad) getting another studio to create content for us.

While I agree it's really crappy that they didn't include more weapons. However, you are throwing quite a fit about Glam and matching outfits. to each their own I guess.

Sinking money into a Final Fantasy VII remake takes priority, sadly. Looking forward to that game costing SE so much that it simply can never turn a profit, all at the expense of other projects like XIV, which print money...

like Zurvan crafted weapons are around the corner
if they add DNC and GNB to the crafted and normal pool
it just means they will add them slowly along wit Susano crafted weapons etc etc

also have to wait two weeks to see if they add alex weapons to GNB and DNC when Alex Ult is out

We get what we get, it was pre-planned, and we better like it or leave it. I think it's simply misallocation of resources. I think somewhere I read that new devs wouldn't matter because they would have be trained; couldn't keep up with the "quality" the team normally provides or something like that. They won't contract it out, and keep it all in-house. I think that is a joke, because we don't get too much "quality" as it is. Just saying. We have a new facepaint in the mogstation (handled by a seperate team), but they still apparently can't do stubble - which would be effectively equivalent to facepaint. Not to mention the sub-par state Viera/Hrothgar were released in, where hrothgar are irreparably flawed, and we will probably not see any hairstyles besides the handful they gave us for viera, not even the ones we literally paid for, for a very long time. Plus the hilarious skin tone mesh on the 2b outfit. They actually put in the time to fit that dress to males though, so they can crossdress, but they can't fix any of this, because of "resources".

This is a problem at the top, and it needs to be fixed.

I was only being half serious. I really doubt it'll be a success for SE though, they've got a history of bloated development schedules (which VII has already fallen into) and running up costs of development which results in them labeling fairly well selling games as failures. They've already opted to make it episodic to help with that, but I'm skeptical that an episodic release of VII will pan out well in the long term, especially if we get another case of the XIIIs and XVs where it's all flash and no substance. Regardless, I expect the novelty of a HD VII will drop off and sales for future episodes will decline, especially if they fluff the post-Midgar gameplay. They'll turn a profit, but as with most of their AAA releases in past years, I expect them to be disappointed with it.

Meanwhile, something like XIV chugs along steadily making profit and increasing in popularity despite lackluster funding... Honestly that's probably why Yoshida has such a hard time securing resources, they've done amazing with what little SE gives them and just keep gaining subscribers...

It is true that SE has ridiculously high standards for how well their games should perform. The Eidos branch keeps getting gutted for low sales in Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. Heck, Hitman even got siphoned off due to it eventually. It's not like they were crazy good numbers, but they weren't bad.

Then I remember them saying they wanted XV to have atleast 10 million copies sold in lifetime sales or it's be considered a failure. Sometimes they really need to slow down with their urgency.

There are different people working on different things. The people that design weapons and armor probably aren't the same people that do the performance updates. And while they have a couple guest creators for the Nier raids I doubt another stuidio is actually doing all the work on it outside of FFXIV's budget.

Yes, it would be nice if the game got more of a budget, and Yoshi P would probably like one, but he's also not the sole decision maker in SE.

As for what they did give us:

SB pvp weapons (1)
SB Leveling dungeon weapons (5)
Crafted SB leveling weapons (5)
Shire weapons (1)
Scaeven weapons (1) (I forget if they gave us the tier before Scaeven too would have to check, but assuming no for this list.)
POTD/HOH weapons (3)


That's not counting SHB content itself.

So yeah, it's disappointing we don't get dancer weapons for everything. But I also can't fault them for not hitting everything.

They just need to stop wasting resources on useless crap(bard performance as an example)

I agree, but only because they don't allow Performance in instances, thus it is completely and utterly pointless. What's the point of being able to doot if I can't doot while idiots are wiping to simple mechanics?

You could stop thinking the world revolves around you. I am sure there are a lot of people very happy with upgrades to the performance system.

I love BLU but if it's going to be a limited mini-game might as well focus resources on things that actually affect the game. Maybe if they didn't waste time on Limited BLU we might have more weapons for DNC/GNB and hats for Viera/Hrothgar.

Don't get teams mixed up though. The ones that work on the classes/skills probably don't have much of an effect at all on the ones who make the glamour/weapon items.

Also @OP, you act like it's gonna kill you if you don't get more shiny weapons you probably will never use.

Well to be fair, the "lazy" is actually not laziness but time management and workload management. We have at least 16 Primals/trials that have their respective weapons. If every job had their primal weapon, that would be 272 items, at the very least. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a couple primals, but for every Primal I'm missing that means another 17 set of weapons. Assuming that later down the road they decide to release another two jobs, with an expension that has 5 primals weapons, and taking into the consideration only the 16+5 trial weapons I mentioned, that means an extra 42 weapons just for those two jobs. Accounting the existing ones make it 357 + 42. That's just for weapons.

Not taking into account dungeon, pvp and crafted stuff.

It might seem lazy from your perspective and I understand because I'd love to have me some fancy DNC primal stuff too. But oof. That's a lot of different designs.

I think FFVII is going to be profitable but not even close as FFXIV do, like, SQEX already said some years ago that FFXI was the most profitable Final Fantasy game ever and i don't think FFXI had the same player base that FFXIV has at all, so i bet that FFXIV already took FFXIs place about being the number one on Franchise and doesn't matter how much FFVIIR copies is going to be sold it won't make more money than FFXIV do, it's impossible by realistic numbers unless that FFVIIR become a new GTAV what's not going to happen. So i think that SQEX should give more money to FFXIV develop team to create new stuff, there's many things that Yoshida claims that they don't have Resourses for it and that's sad.

Only Titania and Hades have weapons. Innocence has accessories instead (same thing they did with Stormblood, Lakshmi had accessories, Susano weapons), although I kind of view the Mt. Gulg weapons as Innocence weapons.

Those are presumably handled by different teams. One is modelling, the other is mainly programming

I felt they should have chosen a cutoff point. Like ShB gets no ARR weapons, they should at least get HW and SB weapons, then 6.0 cuts off at SB and so on and so forth. Just dropping all support for previous primals is dissapointing. I get why they'd do it but it still makes me sad

They should have a primal weapon design contest.

Would be neat to see what creative designs people will make for GNB and DNC

Wouldn't make much sense unless it comes with a primal design contest. Otherwise there's a narrow window between when they can show us the primal and when they need to be working on those weapons.

Or if you mean past primals like Ifrit, just make a weapon design contest in general IMO rather than limiting people to primals.

Ah okay. That makes more sense, though I think it'd just be a better idea to just have a contest for weapon designs in general. I've liked...well not all but many of the gear design sets we've gotten. Seeing some player ideas for weapon themes would be fun.

Don't quote me on this but I believe RDM and SAM didn't have primal weapons until it was later added on a patch that also made said primal weapons obtainable through the Deep Dungeons. So there's still some chance that Dancer and Gunbreaker will be getting SB stuff.

It would be nice, but it's hard to get excited about any new glamours with the way the glamour system works. I can't collect the things we already have.

They did give us Dai-Ryumyaku and Ryumyaku models as well.

I wondered why they bothered with the Coven weapons, though they are just recolors of other skins so it probably didn't take much time to do.
