It's been months since the expansion released. There is still an artificial queue in place for no good reason. I logged in at 1pm CST today and player searched "World" and the list made it all the way down to The Gold Saucer. The server isn't even close to being full at this time of day, yet I still had to wait in a "10 person" queue for ~1 minute to get in.
This happens almost every single time I log in at nearly any time of day. My server is technically on the "high" end of populations and it's still this inactive at certain times. Spending up to a few minutes just waiting to log in when you know that the server isn't actually full is really irritating.
The other issue is instances, which are also still in place when the rush has been long over. I guess some of the players who exclusively do hunts might whine over them being gone, but they're only meant to be there to reduce load in specific zones, and now those zones are no longer being hammered. I'm pretty sure that the other times we had instances they were removed before their respective x.1 patches.

Not long ago login at 5am and was put in queue of 1 for over 5 minutes. Is it from all the bots login and out all the time that's causing it. You can just use search characters and then search each area of the world for number players in that area.

Come 5.1, you won't be able to bypass it anymore using the cancel, relog from character screen.Quote:

With how easy server hopping is, I kinda understand why they implement the "artificial" queue
when the hunt season is going on (and it's not that rare) you could see hundred player just jump from one server to another
and by the way, hod did you know your server isn't actually full...? do you have any server monitoring tools that connect to SE's server ?
and do you read the latest patch notes for 5.1 ? they say, the instanced zones will be removed, so... yay! -

I watched a clock to be sure, too. It seems entirely arbitrary with the way they force you to wait. Today I had to wait 2 minutes to get through a "10 person" queue. Yesterday I got in within 20 seconds with yet another "10 person" queue. It's completely artificial and has no rhyme or reason.Quote:

There's been a roughly ~55% depreciation in the number of online players since the big rush for Shadowbringers release. Overall, it's likely there are similar numbers. There was once a point where servers were legitimately full, but not right now. Especially not during post-patch lull. -

Why are people upset about this in particular? If it keeps the servers healthier shouldn't we all be on board regardless of the population currently playing? Since shb, my data center appears more stable. But hey I guess if we all wanna go back to sb server stability then we only have ourselves to blame.

But SE has not done much about Bots and it would be hard to tell how much they are filling the server. I was waiting for a fate in Thanalan for a couple allied seals. It was a never ending stream of them popping up out of the ground to click on something.They weren't bad enough to lock the zone like some posts say. But how many zones are they infested in. It's annoying when you get an instant D/C while in a dungeon and you need to get back in.
1. You have to wait for your character to properly log out for a few minutes, then
2. You get put in the queue for a few minutes, then
3. You find that you have either been kicked out of the dungeon since you were offline, or the other players left.
It's pretty frustrating. -

I click to login, go make myself a drink, come back and my character is basking in the sun or relaxing in the rain, depends on the weather.
